Let's get behind the saints this sat. I think we will do well in this one and hopefully Danny can get the win he needs to haul us up the table. It's been frustrating but I'm sure Danny will feel better if we can win this one

Rubbish. Are you implying that someone who loves the club but cannot afford to go to evefy match is not a true or real supporter? People out of work and those on low incomes who have the club at heart are as much a supporter as those who can and do go to all the games.

Agreed but, quite rightly, the damage was down when we only drew with Thistle and lost to Hearts
I's have hoped for 4 points and we got 1.

Former season ticket holder here - chose not to go today convinced we'd be once again terrible...was right.
Work forced me to give up the season ticket but thank god - imagine paying for that?? Could of turned up and paid £20 today. What a farce!
Here's the stats since we arrived in 2014:
    - Played: 9
    - Lost: 7
    - Won: 1
We've been god awful to watch over that period. So I looked up shots stats for that nine game run:
    - Attempts: 57
    - Shots on target: 22 (average 2.4/game)
    - Goals: 6
Shocking. But how bad is that? Well, in the same nine games we've had 119 attempts on our goal, and in that period we had two matches in which we didn't register a single shot on target and in today's game only had one.
Lennon must go. Driving fans away with his god awful tactics, inability to motivate players, and useless approach to player recruitment.

Given the quality of football that the Buds played a year or so ago (some would say, 'tippy-tappy'), the long punt up the park has reappeared and is dragging us back into the stone-age. I think Danny has reached the stage where he can't take us any further. His signings recently smell of desperation, confusion and headlining. I've supported Danny through thick and thin but now it's time for him to go.

I don't take any pleasure in the current slump. I want the team to win starting on Saturday. I want a run of wins and for us to feel good again. Imagine winning two games in a row and how good it would feel. I'm not being funny it would really give us a lift. I hate to see any manager struggle and if Danny get us on a run I will be the first to congratulate him and the team.

I'm not at the point where I would defend DL to the death. I think that while he has a responsibility for putting the squad together we also have to remember very few managers will be able to land all their top targets. Maybe in January we tried to get defenders in and were outbid on the ones we wanted, or maybe we'll get them next window (as happened with Partick trying to get Mair in the summer and they ended up having to wait until January). I think a lot of the moves in December in January were correct (moving guys on who weren't working out, and bringing in guys like Wylde, Magennis, Campbell, and now Djembe Djembe who should all do well at SPL level). While DL has a lot of responsibility over how he spends his budget there are factors outwith his control even in this area (agents wanting to move players on, other clubs outbidding us).
Stuff that is within a manager's control, how the players train, how they prepare for games, setting out a game plan for matches, having a plan B and plan C, substitutions.
On balance I think DL has been reasonable to good in most areas. Most SPL clubs have to rebuild their squad every close season as they have players on fairly short contracts and face losing their best players to bigger / richer clubs. When DL arrived he had to more or less rebuild from scratch and I think over the years while there have been lots of transfers which didn't work out (mostly at the bargain basement end of our dealings) the following signings / promotions from the U20's strike me as being decent for our standing within the SPL:
Goalkeeper: Samson, Dillo, Kello - all decent
Right back: Van Zanten - (OK without being great), Naismith
    Centre half: McGregor
Left back: Travner, Tesselaar, Dummet, Kelly
Midfield: McGowan, Goodwin, McGinn, Teale, McLean, Djembe Djembe, Wylde, Newton (OK)
Forwards: Thompson, Hasselbaink, Goncalves, Magennis (OK)
By my reckoning that's almost 2 starting XI's full of reasonable players signed in 4 years, without claiming they are all top 6 quality players at this stage of their careers.
Any player will have fluctuations with their form and fitness over a season as will most average teams (and we have no right to assume that we are not an average SPL team!).
I think that we will probably pick up naturally in the next few weeks as McLean and Teale and Djembe Djembe get their fitness and sharpness back and as Wylde and Magennis get bedded into the team. The one danger could be if there is lots of chopping and changing and disruption in team selections. I think from midfield to forwards between starting XI / first picks and options from the bench we have the players in those departments to challenge for 6th-9th spots. I think our main problems will be in defence. Maybe if our midfield and attack pick up that will help the confidence and form of Naismith and Kelly. I fear that without a Norrie McWhirter style sweeper or big no nonsense centre half that we have a defence which is equipped to challenge for 10th-12th... thankfully we have a goalkeeper behind them who is good enough to play for any other club in the division with the possible exception of Celtic.
If we find a way to utilise our strengths in midfield and attack I think we will pick up points in March and April as new players bed in and injured players return and hit form.

What I meant was that we keep getting beat. Kello immense as is McGinn and Thompson. But collectively we're not doing well and with the talent in our squad we should win more than 8 games in nearly a year. I hope that clears it up. Dundee United wasn't a problem they're a fantastic team going forward. The rest of the games are and unless this changes were destined for failure. I don't expect miracles I don't even expect to be top six but I think we need to aspire to it and to try to work out why the team which I think has good good players continue to struggle

We have some very good players it's just we have a clueless manager that doesn't know how to use them. Feel sorry for McLean who is our biggest attacking threat from the middle of the park yet gets wasted out wide. Teale hasn't played for 4 months and isn't fit yet he brings him on before Campbell? McGowan doesn't do anything apart from hold the ball up, he can't shoot or f**k all yet he plays him of Thompson constantly when it clearly isn't working. You must wonder what the players think of Lennon, clueless doesn't cover it.

We have some of the most talented individuals in years at the club, and a squad which should be performing far better than it is.
Other managers would get a whole lot more out of that team. I'm certain of that.

The team is not equipped to be in the spl dogfight it's lightweight. Danny hasn't been able to strengthen the one area he needed most and that is the defence. If the board let this club slip down to the championship it will undo the tremendous job they did by getting us into the spl and everything that's went since. Make no mistake that If we go down we will be stripped of any quality and play young lads. The people who work for the club will lose their jobs with the decrease in attendances and sponsorship. Sure the premiership isn't great but in Scotland it is the only place to be. Please don't say hearts and rangers being in the league will be good as if you look at it we would not finish above either of them and do you really fancy Cowdenbeath and Alloa away? I'm fed up,with saints at min I'm there each game cos that's what we do but I don't understand how winning the league cup wasn't the platform we needed to push onto that next level and move from being bottom feeders to mid table? It's so boring no players no money no nothing. We're going to get beat today we all know it but that's nothing new it's failing to take 3 points v hearts , stjohnstone, kille and thistle that's going to cost us. Regardless if the team is being sold off the chairman has a duty to do the best for the club. Our next run of fixtures isn't great and with a manger that's ran out of ideas I am v worried. Is there anything we can do to help us survive?

I can only imagine the board won't release funds. Why else would you let six go and bring in three to an already threadbare squad. I think it will be v hard to avoid the playoff.

My backing will run out if we don't add defensive options and only strengthen in midfield and attack and then we have suspensions, injuries and loss of form in defence and no good options to change things. If the suspensions etc happen and young guys like Naismith and Kelly come in and do a job for a few games then I'd just about give DL the benefit of the doubt.
I was happy enough to move on 3 defenders who weren't featuring on the basis that some of the money saved on their wages would go into strengthening an obvious weak area of the team. At the minute the dealings in this window do look a bit reckless in ignoring any attempt to solve our problems at the back. At least with midfield and attack you do fancy that once McLean and Teale return we will have plenty of options going forward (even before adding Wylde, Campbell,Magennis) but at the back Grainger could be gone and isn't in great form if he stays put and DVZ hasn't looked dependable in defence this season. Failing to add cover and competition and reducing our options is beginning to look like a gamble which could easily blow up in DL's face at a time when there is not a lot of leeway to avoid the play-off.

So why let squad players go and replace them initially with very little. Danny has made an utter arse of the transfer market and with that his squad has delivered 8 wins is it in ten months? Absolutely horrendous. Plus we're playing very poorly bar 45 at Easter road

Oh dear oh dear, dismal and predictable as the result may have been..................I am advised this was one that slipped away from us rather than our standard ineptitude ?
I will look at the highlights ( sic ) later, but for now, it appears that the usual rants along lines of our fecklessness, our poor attitude and our defensive culpability are not so readilly applicable as recent humblings
    That said..............what a pissar of a result
Jambos , now with back to back wins, I wonder what that feels like

Can I just add that Danny can still survive this by bringing in quality by Friday and starting to win! I suspect we won't but I would love nothing more than a few signings and for us to go on a run.

you forgot the bit about certain members of the board only interested in who is playing centre half, this is a bigger problem than the fact they wont let any investment in to the club ,fans don't really give a toss about what happens behind the scenes ,but more about putting your strongest team on the park, unfortunately danny is more concerned about keeping certain directors on side than playing his strongest team, probablybecause he realises anybody else in any other division with 8 wins in 10 months would NOT have a job,
