An excellent political analysis. For my money the scrotum and sphincter are the wee diddy parties like UKIP and SNP.
This is not new News. Private Eye has been banging on about wee Malky (in particular) for years. It takes a tv programme with a set-up con to stir the shit so the GBP takes notice.
They are not the first politicians to dips snouts in the trough. And won't be the last.
I tried to point this out in the Referendum thread. It's not the parties themselves that are the weak link. It's those who aspire to be politicians.

I've been plenty of times both when it was terracing and after it was seated. What it definitely WASN'T was "a bunch of Farquhars sitting around on their hands" ever..
I think what you have just displayed is your utter contempt for football fans as well as the usual class war drivel you tend to get from those types who have failed in their lives and wish to blame it on external forces.
You are also a yes voter which tends to mark you out as being particularly ridiculous.
You either think football supporters are a particularly awful brand of sports fan or you treat them like adults and in the same way EVERY other sports fan gets treated. If you want to carry on with excessive policing and stewarding and bans on certain types of freedoms we can enjoy elsewhere then so be it. It just tends to show you the dim view you have of football supporters. Probably other ones, not yourself, obviously.

Agree about Ireland's attitude. A close friend of mine is from a village which is virtually 100% RC and Nationalist but everybody is proud of their local cricket team. Even a mass murder by murdering loyalists didn't change the attitude.

That same attitude is being displayed by quite a few football fans in here too all the same. Apparently the football fan is absolutely not to be trusted or treated like an adult and there are people in here absolutely determined to make sure they never are.
Most of them seem to be those vile authoritarian Marxist SNP voting filth as well. Just by happenstance, obviously..

Ireland were brilliant against the West Indies. They've really got their cricket system over there spot on and seem to have got over the "its for posh English bastards" mentality at long last. Hope Scotland can follow suit, but it wont be in the current political climate with a bunch of raging ethnic nationalist scum whipping up the clowns.

Football fans are uniquely viewed as being untrustworthy as far as being allowed to have a drink while watching their chosen sport. I cant think of any other sports fans who are barred from being allowed a drink at sporting venues, just football fans. And it looks like there are plenty of football fans who agree that their fellow football fans are too dreggy to be trusted.
I think thats a bit poor really. Murphy may well be a a twat, but he's right to bring up the discrimination of football fans. Not only are they herded around like potential criminals and subjected to mass policing (which costs the clubs a small fortune) but they are also watched inside grounds by stewards waiting to pounce.
Maybe the average football fan is indeed pondlife and just cant be treated as a grown up and needs to be saved from themselves and their appalling behaviour? Or maybe they should just be treated like regular sports fans until such time as something horrendous happens. If it actually does.
This can be introduced properly and done correctly it wont cause any great problems. And no, I won't drink at games, because I dont want to. But if I did want to, I should be allowed.

Scotland lost four wickets to the first ball. Thats highly unusual. The ball was swinging miles at the start of their innings though, and NZ are a really decent one day side right now. With a bit of luck they could win the thing.

The problem with that comparison is that rugby league doesn't have these problems despite it being a populist working class sport.

Basically you think football fans are pondlife that cant be trusted. Which is what I said initially.
Personally, I think the majority of them are the same people who go and watch other sporting events and are able to have a beer or whatever at those events and not get themselves arrested.
Id just let it happen and see how it goes. If it does turn out that football fans are scum of the world and cant handle drink then fair enough. Its 35 years since the oldfirm game that brought in football prohibition anyway.

It didn't prevent us playing a couple of matches understaffed thanks to the officials mistakes. While its right to overturn days later the outcome of games can ride on stuff like this and its not great.

All the more reason to vote Tory. Labour do nothing to alleviate any of the problems you mention, in fact Labour ALWAYS f**k the economy up and leave office with unemployment higher than when they took office. Always. Without exception.
And the cost of living crisis is officially over too.

This is actually a good thing especially as adjustements to the zero tax threshold will make it more attractive to actually take work, which is the whole idea.
Incredible that nationalists are actually whining about this as it is the same model that Norway uses (Ian Duncan Smith studied their welfare model closely) along with forcing jobless people to take work for their state handouts instead of allowing them to lie in bed most of the day.
If we are to have minimum wages then the tax free threshold should actually be set at the minimum wage rate x 40 hours per week to give the years income. Make it much more attractive to take work and look at need from there based on circumstances.

There hasnt been any actual austerity. Thats why the deficit has only reduced a little when all the initial chat was about reducing it significantly. Tax income is actually rising significantly which will stave off some of the necessary austerity. There is plenty of scope to slash spending, but the government is shitting itself mainly because they are about as conservative as Ted Heaths anus and dont actually believe in reducing public spending. Tax cuts introduces a stimulus into the economy as well, and thats the route they will go down as well as trying to keep a bit of inflation on the go to evaporate some of the debt this way.
What politicians say is one thing, what they actually do is different. Osborne has been running rings round the left for this entire parliament.

I see the democratic will of the Scottish electorate has been embraced fully in here.
here's the percentages of the Scottish electorate that have voted yes to the various questions in the three referendums since 79. Excluding the proportional representation one which is irrelevant.
    1979 : 32.5% (assembly)
    1997 : 44.7% (scottish parliament)
1997 : 38.1% (tax varying powers, dumped on the fly by John Swinney)
    2014 : 37.8% (independence)
Yes carried the day in the first three mainly because of the "couldn't give a f**k" factor. The last one actually mobilised resistance and ended in a no vote, which probably shows you the depth of feeling against.
