  1. If he worked for Duff and Phelps it would be billed at around £450 + vat per hour. (plus postage and "insid"entals)
  2. I was told once, don't know if there is any truth in it, that someone died here is an urban myth. Of course we all believe that the circles represent a pair of glasses but they actually represent the bicycle the guy was on when he fell off the church.
  3. Wrong guys, Davaar were the kings. Although I do remember Ailsa being full of guys light on there loafers.
  4. On their badge there is "Mirrin" We have "Mirren" And the Cathedral has "Mirin". How come?
  5. I think I went there once to pay my mammy's rent. Or am I making that up?
  6. The story in my family is that my great grandfather, on my mothers side, left Ireland at the age of 14 with his wee brother when his mother and father, who owned a farm, died. Seemingly, some not much loved uncle took over the farm and the boys left Ireland and landed in Paisley. My great grandfather lived in Caledonia Street and worked at the gas works where he lost an eye.
  7. You would be best to unload them as soon as you can. By the end of May this year it'll be the 4 times winners mug and tankard that will have real value.
  8. Bluto is correct. I knew the Regal very well as I lived in George Street beside McCormacks dairy. This cinema was, if my memory serves me well after 50 years, was further out of town than the Regal and on the south side of the street. I have a memory of it being on a corner facing back towards the town centre. I was a noughts and crosses champion at the ABC Minors. It was sixpence downstairs and nine pence up stairs. My career on stage has been downhill since.
  9. I remember going to a cinema somewhere in the West End in the early 60s to watch some chimpanzees who were promoting tea. Was this the building?
  10. My father worked at Andersons Fireplaces in Queen Street. Memories right enough...............................
  11. Thank you Sonny for starting this thread. It's a lot better than some of the threads started by certain supposed St.Mirren fans who would rather castigate one of their most promising young players than spend time reminiscing about Paisley's history and beauty. Now.............................................. do you have a photie of the old Paisley Jail for Paul McGowan
  12. Shull will be the one on the right. Always greetin'
  13. Well, it's now half past eight and still no word.
  14. And who is the "fellow supporter"? Or are you beginning to talk in the 3rd person?
  15. It's more likely he has a part of his anatomy in his hand.
  16. I'll be at Perth to enjoy our brand of football. The players know they let themselves and us down, Perth will be different.
  17. Unfortunately I'm off to watch Rich Hall in Edinburgh. Meetings in Paisley are a bugger when you don't live there. Maybe they should have a "country member" category like the big golf clubs. But, if it was like a golf club, I definitely wouldn't join.
  18. Now if you had a 2011 away top you would get good bids...............................they're like hens' teeth.
  19. Why has this topic taken so long to appear? It should have surfaced after the Morton match.
  20. Well, I have to say. Anyone who reads the News of The World on-line must be listened to.
  21. I would say that £10 per month probably entitles you to no opinion. I give my daughter £10 per week by direct debit and I can assure you I have no influence on how's it's spent.
