  1. Perhaps this rumoured English bid has forced smisa's hand a bit?
  2. One of these days I'm going to click on a thread and I swear the whole page will just be the repeated message: This post is hidden because you have chosen to ignore posts by <USER>. View it anyway?
  3. Think you may be right. I would've expected Farrell to have been by Rae's side at the press conference, but going by his tweets he's waiting to see if it can be worked out. The board give the manager his budget, they should therefore let him get on with it and bring in who he wants.
  4. Gun put to my nuts and told to choose between Rae and Calderwood I'd choose Rae. But surely to goodness there are better candidates?
  5. Chick Young was hinting that Stuart McCall would not be interested. I don't think Ian would leave Ayr for us. They've been good for him and he might wish to show some loyalty to them.
  6. Brought a wee tear to the eye. Brilliant news.
  7. They are commentating from the BBC studios
  8. Well now I don't need to worry about answering that age old question of "Aye, but who do you really support....?" Fkn cheers for that. As has been said previously: I have zero problems taking cash off the brothers or with them playing at the ground. I do however have a big problem with their club crest hanging proudly just yards from a wall where the club has those "Bricks"... many with the names of supporters no longer with us. It shows a big lack of respect to fans.
  9. Was it a "gentleman's agreement" or was it cause we're up the financial creek....?
  10. For starters Sevco could never afford the development fee. I'd expect the SFA to decide on something like £250,000. And i have no doubts in my mind that if Kenny went to Sevco he would very quickly become the boo boy of choice. Just need to look at Adams or Broadfoot to see the Neanderthals very quickly pick on Scottish boys, especially if they come from "diddy clubs". Kenny gets enough stick with us, I can only imagine the levels of abuse he'd get from the knuckle-draggers at Ibrox.
  11. The Sevco fans will obviously fancy themselves, and when they get knocked out they'll demand the head of the Cheeky Chap.
  12. Hadn't heard a thing about it until the official statement. Though that'll be mainly cause i don't listen to that pish. Decent statement from Saints though.
  13. I think it's more likely that SKY will re-negotiate if rangers are no longer an SPL club. That would lead to a reduction in the overall money the SPL get, but possibly not by a huge amount. Here's the thing that nobody seems to have talked about.... At present the old firm get the majority of the TV money. If rangers are no longer in the other SPL clubs can vote to change the idtiotic 11-1 vote. They get rid of that and then they can change the way the TV money is distributed to a fairer way amongst all 12 clubs. That way, wouldn't the hit amongst the other 10 clubs possibly not be as bad? After all currently the old firm take the majority of the cash. Change the distribution of the cash and our % of cash of a renogotiated TV deal might not be as bad. Pure speculation i admit, and i agree that it's right to wait until all the juggling balls have landed, but maybe things won't be as bad if rangers get (rightly) voted out....
  14. It would more than likely be an 8-4 vote. They'll quite easily get back, whereas if it was the likes of us we'd get dumped down to division 3.
  15. A complete cop-out... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18263819 Scottish Premier League clubs have voted at Hampden not to introduce fixed punishments for clubs reforming as new companies known as "newcos". Instead sanctions will be imposed on a case-by-case basis. The decision on any newco will be taken by all 12 clubs, with no fixed penalties for the new company. So basically it will be one case for rangers and another case for every other club.
  16. 2pm in the Hospitality suite at St Mirren Park. Should be an interesting one. I don't see Danny getting anything other than praise, but the board may have some tricky questions to answer....
  17. No, it shouldn't. But it does. With every business. Budgets change, games get moved or called off, unexpected things happen, players get injured and managers get sacked. I think most of us do appreciate what the SG and co have done, but what are the CIC going to be able to do about situations like this? The directors have previously dipped in to their own pockets, are the CIC executive board going to do the same? Or are we going to see more of the same loans being used? If the CIC does happen, it's decisions like these which will be pivitol in it's success. Stuff this talk about a fans bar, what happens when decisions like these are needed? What's going to happen then? It's things like this that should be getting debated, instead we're getting dragged down by these petty arguments about nothing.
  18. So here's the obvious question.... Should the CIC go through those same directors who regularly dip into their own pockets will no longer be running the club. What happens if/when this kind of thing happens again? What does the CIC do?
  19. Pleaase keep it that way. Please. Pretty please. Dear God NO!!!! Please. For the love of God NO!!!!
  20. Yeah. Like sacking the manager.... How's that for a selling point for the CIC
  21. Both valid questions, but i really don't want to think about them just now. And i really hope (and pray) that next Saturday night we don't have to think about them at all, as we sit enjoying being an SPL team again.... Please? Pretty please? God? Buddha? Anyone?
  22. One of your best posts Somner, there are some very good points in there. I'm for the CIC, but you ask very valid questions. Unfortunately some of the CIC is a lot of What if's, both in a positive and negative sense. Personally i don't think a huge number of fans would leave the CIC, but if we drop out of the SPL, i guess there could be some Corporate memberships that may wish to leave the CIC, if the exposure is not as big. And you're right, i haven't seen any Plan B's if that happens. The 20% increase has been explained, again yes, it is What If's, but i don't think it is an unreasonable target. And it won't be for the start of next season, it will take a season or two to get the increase in budget for the manager. Like i say, couple of good questions. Stick them up in the Q&A thread and lets see what response we get.
  23. I don't have a problem with the CIC doing that Kenny. My only point was that this example was used by way of explaning the CIC social return on investment and suddenly it was getting used as fact by animal to (yet again) deride the St Mirren CIC. Any social activities the CIC want to get involved with have my full backing. I think it's a great idea that the club will be getting more involved with the community. Something i think we're seeing a lot more of it recently.
