I was under the impression that Oran Kearney was "statistically the worst manager in St. Mirren's history". Oddly enough, haven't heard any retractions from those that posited said quote......

Statistically big fat Sam is the best manager in the history of the English national team. Similar for whatever nugget managed morton on Saturday.

And to prove the unreliability of such things, statistically most people have and above average amount of limbs.........

  2. Campbell Money made a fantastic save right at the end from a Derek Whyte header.

Paul Kinnaird got sent off so Saints actually won with ten men. Why Celtic ended up with eleven still on the pitch despite Burns getting a red card is probably due to the fact the referee was clueless.

Think our fans will need to be very patient I’m sure he will have been seeking assurances from the board that he will be giving plenty of time to sort things out.

Saints Fans "patient"? Good yin!

And it's the fans he should be looking for assurances from, not the board....

The first Scottish manager to take our national team to the European championships was a teacher

The second Scottish manager to take our national team to the European championships was a teacher

The man who lifted our team from relegation fodder to promotion to the premier league in the wonderful 1999/2000 season was a teacher.

Yep. And how did it end up with those three? With "fans" telling them to f**k off....

Really?  How many points do you get for having the right opinion?  Three points for having the right opinion, no points for having the wrong opinion and one point for saying "Meh!"?

Been trying to tell that to the badly webmaster for quite a long time now.....

Thought it was a lovely touch as the piper played Oh when the saints as the family cars pulled away.

Didn't see you there, would've caught up if I'd known.

Great turn out and excellent eulogy. Very funny at times and a good celebration of a fine fellow.

Kenny is now gone but he will be remembered and remembered fondly.

If we get him we will love him and cherish him.

Our owner is very secretive but I have a friend who gives me snippets of definite info now and again. She told me about the Jack Ross enquiry and the interview before it was in the public domain but she has gone all quiet today. This may sound strange but I think it's because something may be happening and she is in lockdown.

    Purely speculation of course.

I can tell you now that whatever happens we will be looking over your results from now on, I think a lot of our following will adopt you as our Caledonian team. Maybe a few of us lot might pop up for a game and a few beers if we do eventually tie the knot.

I know I am biased but if it happens I don't think he will find a better move at his stage of his career.

A total of only 15 managers at ITFC since 1936

    2 England managers

    1 Scottish manager

Guaranteed time to get it right and an absolute blazing set of youngsters champing at the bit and absolutely no interference from the powers above.

So it's true; Alf Ramsey, was Scottish right enough.......? :-0

What a great Pic, why the feck is Kenny in a suit lol? And Howard Hughes did your mum get you that shirt for Xmas?

Also noticed Harpo on there, whatever happened to the big man? Not seen or heard of him for years.

That was bought for me by my then good lady. I think I flung it out when we split up.

    1. Would need to see that again but I remember a lot of decisions seemed to go against us that day - more than our fair share.

    2. I didn't say that Zidane shouldn't have been sent off - but that the Italian tactics were designed to get that reaction - thereby spoiling the game by removing the most talented player from the final.

Being annoyed that a cynical tactic spoiled a game by inciting a violent reaction is not the same as condoning the reaction.

Anyway, it certainly worked for them but I doubt many non Italians would have been applauding it.

In my opinion the best side did not win the 2006 World Cup but each to their own.

So I'm still enjoying my chortle at their demise.

Zidane was sent off ten minutes from the end of extra time so I’m not sure how much the game was “spoiled” by the removal of a player who’d played 110 minutes, i.e. over 90% of the game. “Most talented player” is, also, subjective; for me the best player on show was Fabio Cannavaro, who should’ve been the player of the tournament. However, that title is rarely, if ever, given to defenders, of which Italians have always excelled.

Would be interested to know who you thought were the best side in 2006.

I've still got a chip on my shoulder about the Euro 2008 qualifier at Hampden when they dived their way to victory (with the help of some outrageous decisions from the ref).

They also spoiled their way to the 2006 world cup and denied us a last proper finale from zizou thanks to their wind up / diving / spoiling tactics.

For those two reasons (especially the first) I had a wee chortle at their exit.

    1. Scotland's goal was offside so that evened itself out.

    2. The ref was 100% correct in sending off Zidane. Trying telling the police you smacked a guy in the street because he insulted you and see how far you get. Best team won that tournament although the best player didn't get the player of the tournament like he should've done.
