  1. Loved ELP in my younger days, especially Greg Lake's more reflective acoustic stuff like From the Beginning and Still...YouTurn Me On. He's also very few of the fellow Gre(i)gs that are famous so liked him for that as well. Very, very saddened to hear of this.
  2. Ah, well, no; y’see, that’s what *I* would normally say therefore I shall not incriminate myself as being a stereotype.
  3. Sorry, unless Saints are on a cup run or pushing for promotion you’re not allowed to use that phrase. It’s only when things are good not when they’re bad. When things are bad and you use the phrase “Keep the Faith” and attempt to foster an atmosphere of encouragement and support you are, quite rightly, ridiculed and referred to as a “happy clapper”. When things ARE bad the correct phrase to use is one of the following:- “(Insert name of manager here) must go!” “(Insert name of manager here) is tactically naïve!” “Get tae f*** (insert name of manager here), ya clueless arsehole” “Sack the board!” “F*** off happy clappers!” “I’m not a pessimist, I’m a realist and the reality is Saint Murn are shite an’ you can ram yer KTF pish up yer hole!” I hope this helps for future reference...
  4. Yes indeedy! Edited to add:- pleased with the result last night but I remember years ago being in the Queen's Park Cafe after Scotland beat the Faroes 5-1 and a guy was raging that Craig Brown should be sacked. The reason being, basically what I previously posted.
  5. Saint Mirren disgrace themselves yet again! What on EARTH is going wrong with the club?!?!?! Imagine losing a goal to a non-league club? And at home as well! Shocking. Absolutely shocking!!! .................
  6. You better watch, St.Ricky; you'll have all manner of "realists" on here telling you to f**k off for being a happy clapper.......
  7. You're naively employing the strategy of "perspective". There is no room for such a thing on this website........
  8. Went on holiday to Cuba about three years ago. Got a load of Cohibas the size of baseball bats for £1.30 each, punted on the quiet at such a low price due to the state of the economy. Cheers El Jefe!
  9. Gearing up for a Saints v United final thirty years after that glorious day at Hampden when Fergie rattled in the winner.
  10. Maybe he just chucked it quietly and disappeared, like Reidy, as opposed to getting someone to announce it "quietly and without fuss" then re-appear as some other name but remaining the same pompous gobshite.............
  11. Is that how that phrase is spelt? Wondered that for years!
  12. I actually quite like Trans but in general it seems that the whole of his output on Geffen was willfully bizarre; from rockabilly (Everybody's Rockin') through electronic (Trans) then country (Old Ways) Geffen tried to sue him for misrepresentation as an artist. Then he left them, went back to Reprise brought out Freedom followed by Ragged Glory and recaptured his magic. Geffen must've been scratching their heads wondering where the hell they went wrong.
  13. It's rumoured that during the recording he left the recording studio and nipped out for a pint/a bite to eat/a quick hit before returning and overseeing proceedings. There's no two ways about it that Lou Reed did this to annoy people. And if the stories are to be believed he succeeded mightily. Edited to add:- Neil Young also did a similar two-fingered salute to his record company when he brought out the album Everybody's Rockin'.
  14. Any particular reason this was posted on the anniversary of the man's death or was that just a coincidence?
  15. Bad music DOES exist and it goes by the name of C*ldpl*y......
  16. City to City for me. So many great songs; Right Down the Line, The Ark, Stealin' Time and the f**king superb Whatever's Written in your Heart. All that and Baker Street too. Mind you, Night Owl is bloody good an' aw.
  17. Right now I'm reading No Comebacks by Frederick Forsyth, a fine collection of short stories. Cos I just cannae get the time to read proper full on novels these days.
  18. Cheers St. Ricky. Always good to see the St. Mirren family return from overseas. Good luck to you all and safe home to the wide brown land. ;-)
  19. At the end of the title you missed the word 'happy". To which the answer is, variously, "f**k all", "suicide" or "getting rid of decent managers"......... #bunchofcunts
