Just looking at this and it reminds me, I actually have Tony Fitz's red Umbro Aaway top, No4 on the back from 78/79 (i think, way before I was even born) and a few years back, my father in law met him and got him to sign it. Absolute cracking top, massive collar on in too.
I will try post a pic at some point, but a nice bit of saints history.

Lastly , I am off on holiday this Friday so will NOT be sending txt , FB or Teamer reminders . Make sure you get your arses in gear and reply to your invite promptly .......and don’t txt me about footy next week !! David or Nicky could you send the invites etc for the games the following week (w.c. 6.5.19 ) please ?
Sorry Callum, I forgot to respond re: the venue etc via text.
I am happy to play any venue locally but with the money going back to club as preferred option.
I have only played once (due to loosing place a week I couldn't make) therefore, feel less in a place to help make decisions. Though would happy play any Monday games as they come up.

Yep, for me, the cup-winning strip is the best we've had for a long time. Mild annual variations on that would do for me.
Plus, is it any coincidence that we actually won something whilst wearing it? Yes. Yes it is. But we definitely did get relegated as a direct result of that honking 2014-15 strip.
It's typical - my standard line when it comes to black and white shirts is that Juventus never get it wrong so why can't we just copy them... and then they go and do this
This a pretty brutal strip tbf. And I agree that the sole reason we got relegated was that barcode thing we had on that season, totally nothing to do with TC and his rank signings

We don't need a permanent Manager.
Two Part Time Coaches will do.
We only play when there is no Top league football.
Get a couple of Club Managers to step in on international week then they can return to their own Teams, just like the players.
Tommy Wright & Stevie Clarke for starters maybe.
Interestingly, they were discussing this on the radio when I was on way to work (PT managers etc), however, they also mentioned Jack Ross as a potential candidate which comes as a surprise.....

Didnt imply it?
he said it..! " some of them cant speak English"
is that a failing on their part. or a feckin cultural reality of signing people from various countries?
You cant fault people because of their first language, especially if you sign them in that full knowledge.
Read the rest, in context, the article in summary is 'we signed a lot of players, there were barriers to settle such as language but we are hitting form, good results and have settled well and the mood has changed'........ See blow.
"We have a centre-half who has now picked up the shouts and you can notice a heavy difference from when he first came in and was shouting in Romanian. They've started to pick up the game and different mentalities over here as opposed to steaming in and expecting to not give away a foul.
"Our turning point came when we went to Tynecastle and Pittodrie and had two good draws and could have won. The mood in the dressing room completely turned with those two results."

Just an idea, but how about turning the whole thing around and trying to make Old Firm games our "family days". That concept normally gets rolled out when playing a team we aren't going to sell many tickets against.
We could make a drive to fill the family stand with youth groups, incentivise season ticket holders and registered ticket website members to bring a friend along (the idea season ticket holders would buy home end tickets for OF fans is ridiculous), encourage the West Stand to make enough noise drown out the ulster related shite coming out the away end.
Yes, we would lose money on it all, but these games could be celebrations of everything that St Mirren stand for. Every St Mirren fan could very easily jump on a bus to Glasgow and see a bigger, (normally) winning team, but they chose not to out of loyalty to their local team & as a rejection of the bigtory and violence that comes with Celtic & Rangers. These games should be our opportunity to show the country that. They shouldn't be games where we surrender the stadium & three points without a fight.
This is a good idea over all. In defiance to the OF and in reference to the last sentence it would be a big statement, indeed we could proclaim.... 'No surr...' oh, wait.....
On second thoughts, lets re-think the last part...............

We need a crowd like Falkirk away under Gus, everyone’s got to be up for it tomorrow, the players and fans included.
Funny, I referenced this game as exactly how we need to approach this game.
I remember how fired up we were from the outset and those 2 goals. Supberb, I am sure the saints fans surging forward after the 2nd goal flattened the stand boarding's.
Was a party atmosphere that day!
I pray for a repeat tomorrow.

Anyone got any web-links to the game tonight to watch online or can suggest where best to try see this?

just go to frontrowsports and scroll down till you find it, (they only come up a minute or two before game starts) you have to keep closing all the crap adverts for what seems like ages , but I always manage to get the game in the end even though you sometimes miss a couple of minutes.
Just noticed it's on Alba later,I really should read through everything before posting.
Thanks a lot bud! This is helpful to know.
Appreciate your help

Has anyone tired a VPN with Saints Tv?
I ask as I am away for the weekend with the mrs and looking to get this on the laptop. Just wondering if it would work/any advice as to decide wither its worth interrupting the weekend for a few hours.... Advice on anyone's prior experience would be appreciated.

Hall of fame should not be about mediocrity. Handing it to Samson and Potter, in my opinion makes a mockery of it.
However, in a time where the club have at best been mediocre these guys were long serving players who helped us achieve good things;
Samason in particular; a national cup win, including a pen save in the semi final over Celtic and a league title and equaled the home clean sheets record for a goalie? No bad for mediocrity.

Samson and Potter were average footballers at best. Should not be anywhere near a St Mirren Hall of Fame in my opinion. Have nothing against either of them and recognise they both played in teams who achieved success but to mention them in the same breath as Telfer,Copland, Money, McGarvey, Fitzpatrick, Lapsley, Bryceland, Murray, Stark, Somner. McWhirter, Thompson, Richardson and Abercromby is ludicrous!!
With all due respect, in recent years we have been an average club at best and these guys are recognized for their service/efforts and achievements during that period.
Some people need to be a bit more realistic.

Against Hearts he was fantastic and I ate some humble pie.
He has been excellent. He is clearly better in that more central role. His tackling and intercepting in the middle was key on Saturday.
And the fact he created the chance on Saturday and bust his backside to get into a position for a re-bound was excellent. Watch that run again from Saturday and you appreciate the goal (scrappy finish) even more as it was from determination.
Well done Flynn!!

He hates us.......................... because of his brother................
Anyway here we are, a guy makes a heavy challenge get rightly booked, judged by a ref a yellow. Is this the Scottish Version of VAR ......................
SAR - Sportscene Assisted Referee ........................... any heavy tackle looks worse in slow mo FFS..........................
Why hate us because of his brother?

Not great timing for this..... Could do with presence against Livi on Saturday.

2 great points this week and last. Gives is confidence and belief.
And for what's its worth, this squad looks like it can compete better at this level. Bring on next game!

Any update on Kyle M?
Would be great to have him back and even better if we can have him back and remain injury free.

Quite simply, this whole this is a right mess.
It is, just like our season and club , from board level down.

I think the big question is; Are we better or worse?
For all the outgoings and incoming, so far I would say 'in-different'.
I hope this changes and we can get off the bottom of the table and giver ourselves a chance. Sadly, I don't hold out too much hope..

We had half the substitutes that day, Ferdinand, one of them was still have fitness issues etc. We had nothing on the bench to change things - we do now though.
Also when Shaw came on up front on the right - Erhahon did not handle him well at all - he changed the game. We now have a natural LB - I suspect he will be starting tonight...
We have added more players and we will see in the coming months how we are tactically - the past is past - it is the here, now and short-term future that matters for us.
There are no guarantees for us, Dee or the Hammers other than 1 of us for sure is going down . . .
I like your optimism. I think tonight will have a significant impact (either way tbh) on belief (both the team and the fans).
I hope that the new team will step up a gear and take us to safety.
Time will tell I guess.
Lets hope you are right Sweeper

Go on then... Other than saying that we are rubbish and haven't won in five league games... What's your argument? We beat them last time at their patch.
I guess the main argument I can muster is that on the 3 occasions we have seen the new look squad (albeit not complete in first game), the improvement is marginal at best
We struggled against a team from lower divisions. key theme: did not track runners in center of the park/midfield resulting in goals
We played decent for 45 mins against hibs but had no plan b when the changed tactics. key theme: did not track runners in center of the park/midfield resulting in goals.
Aside from the pens against Rangers, we were over ran in midfield. key theme: did not track runners in center of the park/midfield resulting in goals
I think given the fact that all season the theme is we cannot runners from central areas, frequently resulting in goals against, and haven't addressed the issue (Tansey won't do), then unless the new guys really step it up a gear from recent showings, I am not sure where points will come from.

Taking off our B&W tinted glasses I'd say it's a reasonable prediction that we'll finish bottom.- we currently are bottom, Hamilton have had the upper hand in the H2Hs and Dundee have overtaken us since changing manager.
Still all to play for but right now I'd be happy to take 11th place and a 2-leg play-off against either Ayr or Dundee Utd.
I agree with this. I think the Hibs game was a reality check.
Hibs were awful and we played well for 45 mins. However, a forced tactical change from them and 'no plan b' from us highlighted our inability to adapt during games and even our tactical shortfalls.
I don't really see where a win will come from tbh. Hope I am wrong but I we have just looked out our depth this season which is disappointing.

Listening to BBC radio this morn and during the sports segment they discussed the game and the commentator said the same as the majority of non-Sevconians in that 1 pen was legit and 3 were wrong; Simulation (no contact admitted by the player apparently) and 2 outside the box.
Did anyone catch sport-scene? Was it ignored? Discussed.... I assume brushed aside and an attempt to justify the decisions?

Is Duckens Nazon back this week?
Would be good to see wee Maggenis back in the staring 11, we have missed him a lot.
I must admit, though I have voted as young Ethan as young player of the year, I would rather see Muzek or even Hodson back in defense for this run in of games.....
