Your having a laugh. You are only looking at how we are sitting squad wise right now - that's not fair.
We have shipped out loads who were not good enough, so at least wait to see who we sign and once they have a wee bit of time to learn to play as a team with the tactics Oran wants.
We will finish above Dee and Hamilton. We might even catch Well . .
Signings imminent - knicker wetting will slow begin to reduce, but come back every time we get beat - Que sera sera . .
In truth, I think you have been pretty spot on with a lot of info so I hope you are right re: signings coming in as we really need a few players (better than what we have) in key areas to get out this mess. i.e. left back, Striker and if I am not asking too much another winger for the left side

Hibs not won in 5 league games.
Really doesn't mean much thought to be fair mate.... We are exactly who you'd want play when you're on a poor run of form.
We really need to gel and strengthen this next couple of weeks. Dundee by all accounts have been playing a bit better recently and Hamilton are just a bit more street wise than us.
-
We were against celtic tonight and didn't expect to take points, however, what we witnessed shows how far off top level football we are... quite a distance in fact.
In the centre of midfield we couldn't string the most basic of passes. No cover from the midfield for the defence.
In truth, I think we are soo far off with a squad that its hard to discuss what it is we need.
A better Left back, centre mid, striker and winger than what we have at the very least.
I want to be positive, I usually am, however, the truth is we are where we deserve to be at present. Lets hope we can gel and turn this around
-
We are bottom and in honesty, we deserve to be. In truth, the only saving grace is that we have shipped the stubbs squad as we would only have been further adrift at this point had we not.
We've a harder set of games than Dundee and Hamilton coming and we need to look at games such as St Jonstone a few weeks back and even Aberdeen and his lately and acknowledge we have threw points away.
Defence and immediately in front of defence (central mid) is a real issue.
-
Ps. We really must be looking back at some games such as St Johnstone at home a few weeks back and even Aberdeen at home December and Hibs away as times we spunked points away.
In truth we are simply where we deserve to be.

Could really do with a win here
Yes. Dundee have the easier game tonight and this weekend coming. Just hope we can at least get on level terms points wise this weekend.

Malec was offered a deal as was the winger mate, both knocked back.
That is a disappointment tbh

Talk MacKenzie was back in training - so think he is building up his fitness.
The other 2 a while to go yet I believe.
Shame as Magennis was really just getting back into stride.
Would be good to have him back for a prolonged period, feel over the last few years he has been pretty unlucky to have a lot of injury problems.

Yeah, but that is all known, and was reported in the press at the time. What we keep hearing is there is " other, non football/results reasons for him getting the sack" but nothing ever materlises, and history shows us its likely nothing ever will.
in short its a bit of a ruse to try and deflect from the huge clusterf**k the board made in appointing, then sacking him after what? Three months..
I agree the board need to shoulder the blame in the whole thing also.
However, wasn't there something re: Josh Heaton? I heard a rumor, maybe read it on here actually, that there was some alternative narrative to his signing. Anyway, like you say it could all be bullshit and hearsay, intriguing none the less.

I think we will only ever hear the 'sacked for non footballing reasons' mentioned, but like unicorns and rocking horse shit the actual facts will somehow mysteriously drift away....
You may be right. Tbh, the sooner the stubbs debacle is put behind us the better.

Yeah, the presenter (McDonald?) said “plenty of St Mirren fans want Goodwin as manager.” Aye, but not right now. Context ya fanny.
Listening tonight and just wondered why no journalist has ever dug deeper on the Stubbs ‘era’? Instead of passing comment on his treatment, maybe they could find the real story? Perhaps they could uncover something inherently wrong with fitba?
But naw, that would mean doing some work.
I keep hearing this about something not quite right that will come out in the wash.
Pretty intriguing tbh.

Correct, Lyons should have been waved up and the match played on.
It's not a foul. Crucially though, not all instances where a player goes down are fouls....not all instances where a player goes down and there's no foul are dives.
It's a very narrow viewpoint to take that if he wasn't fouled, he dived. He's anticipated being blocked off and went down. Staying on his feet would have potentially been more painful so I can see why he did it. It was in a nothing area of the park and if this is going to be deemed a bookable offence, then we're going to see a lot more in future.
Funnily enough, I don't see it happening. An Alloa player did the EXACT same thing in the box yesterday at 2-0 where the St. Mirren player won the ball but a bit of contact was made....the Alloa player was waved up by the ref....how does that work?
This is exactly what I said at the game and since seeing it.
IMO - It was not a foul. It was not a dive. Game should have continued.
Each time a player hits the deck is not a bi polar foul or dive, these guys run at pace and is (should be) a contact sport, I think he called this one wrong.

He sent a further response to me around how we need to build momentum from this etc.
Tbh, I don't mind Michael, he at least attempts to be balanced, I was just more curious about how this opinion was formed.

Could the winger be someone we know but not Morgan - McA ?
Is this a guess or something you may have heard? I hope the latter.....

It is!
edit: and the fat striker Killie have stopped playing is also in the frame! Seems Oran doesnt want to stay in this league?
Sammon has hardly been a prolific striker anywhere he went, which is a concern but if he does sign then I'd give the guy my backing, like all saints.
However, as for the latter guy, I canny stand him, however, knows where the back of the net is and has been prolific, would take him versus the above!
IMO, I would rather someone a bit more, erm, hungry (sorry Kris) and with youth on their side, but I know that's a hard thing to come by and we are up against other competition in that department....

No better than Cammy McPherson, just another player getting very good wage and accommodation, but no better than what we have,be off again in the summer .
We have boys from the academy who have put in 12 years at the club, don't get a proper chance in the first team then we drop them off the planet .BUT if they are really good early on they get punted out the door to balance the books and replaced by some has been or carpetbaggers.
We have lost our way, this was a club that gave youth a genuine chance .
Genuine question;
Have you seen him play a few times to be able to make this assertion?
You could be right and may have seen him train with the squad and play or it could be a guess/assumption?
I look forward to seeing him and happy to give anyone a chance.

Lewis Morgan and a tall Striker now please and I'll be happy.....
Not asking for much, eh?

Yeah, let's apologise to a guy banned from football for calling another player a "golly", because some were a bit cheeky. Should never have been allowed anywhere near the club. As for "done the club a favour".....lol.
When did he do this? Quite shocked at this if true?

How long do we have to wait for Smith to offer summat ?
Season started in July, it is now 2019 and wee torn faced has done feck all.
Good riddens to Smith.
Did he manage to pick up his salary all by himself ?
My original post highlights that he hasn't played much since start of season and that I was simply a bit more concerned with this than others who have left.
The point I am making is he has been used as a sub and actually started a few times of late and showed some glimpses of the player he can be. What I am mostly aware of is there are players who featured less or have had an equally poor start to the season who currently remain (Flynn for example).
Anyway he is gone and I am more interested to see who comes in to replace him.

Sorry if I've missed it elsewhere but the Dundee Evening Telegraph are reporting Smith off to Utd. as imminent.
https://www.eveningtelegraph.co.uk/fp/dundee-united-set-to-sign-attacker-cammy-smith-from-st-mirren/
Despite not having a lot of game time this season, this is the only departure that I am second guessing.
I do think he has something to offer.... however, I am sure OK knows what hes doing.

Having read this article, I actually appreciate OK more.
Seems like a very genuine, astute and all round good people manager.
Lets hope he gets what we need over this window. So far though, he offloaded the guys that we ought to have. Lets see if those on the way in are equally as valuable.

We'd have to move or accommodate the floodlights and the two behind the goals stands are roughly the same size, howver the east and west stands are pretty different. there wouldn't be a neat solution that would maximise the space. I'm pretty sure each corner area could possibly hold an extra 200 seats each and we need to keep at least one corner open
As regards the proposal to look for concerts to fill the ground in the summer, there are many big concerts in the city at this time and the Hydro would house roughly 150% of what we could squeeze in to the SDA, leaving us with very few suitable events to bid for.
whoever approved the final designs of the stadium really closed out the prospect of making extra money from events
You have a far better understanding of this kinda stuff than me tbh.
That last point is just typical tbh.
Stubbs breaks his Silence
in General St. Mirren Discussion

Interestingly, there seems to be a few 'grenades' that could be equally thrown back to Stubbs himself by the club, including some questionable motives regarding some of the 'deals' he struck and and even more so his assistant (Darren Jackson who had been operating as an agent) and some other back stories... if rumors are to be believed that is.
