Given he's not training with the first team and not making the bench in a squad with no goals in them I assume he is showing nowt in training to suggest he should be anywhere near the first team. That said he surely wouldn't be worse than what we have. I'm still not buying the Jackson thing either. His movement isn't great and his body language is similar to the rest of them - an air of resignation once we go behind. There is precious little service though. We will be bullied all over the park again tomorrow by what is a fairly basic but physical side. We have to man up and start putting some effort in to closing down the middle of the park. As I said elsewhere 3 in central midfield tomorrow McGinn, Willock and I'd get Jones in there too with Baird back beside Anton. Might we see Eckersley tomorrow too ???
Any info on Maggenis?

Controversial thought, however, given that we aren't exactly firing on all cylinders, should Cooke get a shot up front tomorrow? It's no like we can get any worse that the current strikers performance whereby we have scored 1 in 4 games?

Although he hasn't said much there, it would genuinely be interesting to hear his side of the story. Clearly there was a lot going on.
I said something similar yesterday that I am concerned about things behind the scenes more than on the pitch at present.
I'd like to hear more on what he has to say with this in particular.
The way things are being run doesn't sit well with me.... however, I am just a supporter so have no real influence in such factors.

On the plus side 45 mph winds and loads of rain would be our best scenerio. Maybe dont cut the grass or get an American Football team to play on it tomorrow night
Think outside the box

Is it wrong I actually don't think those are genuinely bad ideas?

Stick big Bairdy at Centre Forward and hope he can flick a few balls in for Simeon to chase , would also be helpful defending set pieces , maybe have him replacing Flynn
I jokingly said that last night when we kept puntin' the ball. Could Sammy or the rest of the team no see that we lost the ball every time.
I was starting to think there was an invisible force field at the half way line as we seemed incapable of passing it with the ball at our feet.

Rangers lost every game 0-3 from 2001-2012, just still waiting for the SFA to have to bottle to announce it

hahaha..... can you imagine? That chip on their shoulders would grow ten fold!
As hard as it is to imagine, they actually have got worse and more bitter with time as a result of all that.
We need play as organised and the way we did against celtic and hope they have an off day, like celtic did.

I see it mentioned elsewhere that should we lose on Saturday it would constitute the worst run by any club in SPL history , is this correct ? If it is true , and with no wins in sight and a probable heavy defeat at Dens coming up , will Oran hang about till January ? Another couple of months in the firing line ? I'm beginning to fear it will be Gus and Jimmy Nic in charge by then !
That's a sad stat to read (if accurate).
I think the board will back him through Jan, outwith that, you never know about the latter assumption..... 'friends in high places' an aww that.

Giving genuine consideration to just 'no going'.... season ticket or not. The team are pish and the Opposition fans for the most part are absolute bigoted scum and its unbearable.
As stated above, this is probably the worst top flight saints team in memory maybe even one of the worst top flight teams in memory.

Report for this quarter is embarrassing.
Amazing we have went from the high of romping the league last year, to this point of looking a million miles away from even being a competitive team in the top league.
The most worrying bit for me is the lack of interest now, I have a season ticket and have chosen to miss the Celtic and Hibs games and wont be at Rangers this weekend. I've not even considered going to an away game.
Sammy apart I wouldn't be that fussed if any of the players were released tomorrow.
This is kind of a mirror of my thoughts.
My interest has slowly decreased..... Not because I don't support the team but the decision making at the upper echelons doesn't sit well with me. And I mean over the last few years, I mentioned this in the St Johnstone Game thread in that other clubs of similar stature and finance just seem to be able to mange their affairs much better than us and we never seem to learn or adapt and that is what is disengaging.
Last night, I didn't feel anger or annoyed, I actually have grown to accept it which is poor. I feel for OK, he has been given a shite task and on the face of it, will be the fall guy.
As for the team.... well at 59 mins (i looked at the clock) Motherwell fans were 'o'lay'ing every pass as they ripped the piss out us. Furthermore, Saints fans around me celebrated sarcastically a feeble shot at goal which the keeper finally had to make a save to around the 65th min which was our forst real attack at home to an equally struggling club. This is the reality of where we are.
My question is, when will we learn as a club and actually adapt - if indeed we have any ambition too?
-
I wish I had something more positive to say, however, realistically I can foresee us being out muscled in the midfield, leaving our defense exposed and very little in the way of chances or shots on target.....
i.e. The story of every game (except sellick) this season.
I'll be there though, in hope more than expectation.

Seldom easy to beat and their pitch never seems to be great. Points - Plural or singular would do me fine.
I agree! 1 point would be good.
When I cast my mind back, even when we weve been winning div one or doing well, St Johnston have always been a bogey team. I remember back when George Boyle (O'Boyle) we seemed to take a few thumping's.
Anyway, lets hope we can play like we did first half against Killie and you never know....
-
I done hold out much for this one. Motherwell is a more realistic prospect in my opinion.
The Fakes baffle me slightly, terrible support, empty stadium, however, seem to do pretty well each year! I would say on the face of things they are comparable with us but just seem to be better run and made good decisions persistently (or at least more consistently).
Over the years they also seem to be have had the upper hand with us. I would take a draw right now.

So are we adding Anton to the sicknotes?
Also, any word on Heaton and Magennis (anyone in the know,)?
-
Best of luck to him. The article on BBC is poweful regarding mental health. It's also reassuring in that mental health is more in focus and people are seeking to support.

Yeah, I think he needs to figure out what position he’s to play first and foremost.
Might just a little on the young side to be here and did look lightweight when up against it.
That's something I thought, he was a left back but it seemed that he was better going forward when he had space to run, defensively not very strong or good positionally.
Kinda left scratching my head at what player he was supposed to be.

Followed by Alfie Jones very soon I'd imagine.
I quite like the way OK is working. Seems to have a clear indication in what he wants and has addressed a few issues already, just unlucky with the injuries to boot.

Worrying times.
at this moment i guess most of us would consider getting out of the game with the point we started with as a decent outcome? The trouble is even though we are up against high flying Killie, we need to get wins at home to stand any chance of staying in this league, and still being in touch come the split!
home wins are a minimum for us regardless of the opponent. Twice against ten men (home/away) we havent been able to create chances despite our numerical advantage. Our midfield just cant get a grip on a game. I expect our defence to be stronger again given the break to address fitness and working as a unit. Up front, although Jackson adds quality, he needs a strong midfield to feed him, and probably Mullen if fit playing just behind. Our midfield havent showed up yet, when Magennis is back that will be a boost, but it doesnt half show up the impact Morgan and Magennis had in our side compared to last season.
watching last nights Scotland u21 game highlighted the work Morgan gets through by always being an out for his defence, and a driver in midfield. Would we have won, or won so comfortably the league last season without him? Imo i dont think we would. We lost our best defender in Davis, our best midfielder in Morgan and our top scorer in Reilly. I dont think you can underestimate the impact that has had on us.
I agree with this.
Morgan was real quality and has been sorely missed this season. I also look at some of the games he pretty much dragged us through last year that won us vital points at vital times, QOS away when down 2-0 springs to mind and we won 3-2. He was involved in all that was good that game feeding opportunities.
Hopefully, when fit, Hammill can add that bit of quality to replace what we miss in Morgan and Magennis can come back fighting fit. My cocnern is the rest of the midfield is lacking physically and thats what we are struggling with.

Brocks madsen sent back to Birmingham after unimpressive loan period. OK continues the clear out of duffers as transfer window approaches. Note McCann got boot from Dundee so this could be an additional worry for us.
Funny, I said the same thing in that Dundee were just a bit worse than us under McCann.
I hear Stubbs is in the market.... His media pals think he is outstanding, maybe worth a punt for Dundee.

Against Celtic a few weeks ago I had several around me and it was a bit odd but they did behave tbh.

Magennis, heard elsewhere he is likely to be back pretty soon, wondering if anyone know how soon? i.e. This weekend or not?

they will also take over and re-brand the club shop as part of the deal
And get two stands when we meet each other in the cup

When you give 3 stands to the low lifes this will always happen..... Match should have been called off as that poor boy had to carry on with a threat of further injury. Disgraceful. SFA grow a pair, and the Police need to find this pond life and throw them in prison
Your final point here is what really bothers me and I am sure it does others too.
The behavior from this mob is specific has become so abhorrent in recent times that it's become both expected and accepted.
Until the authorities (both footballing and state) close down on this then it will continue and in fact, I only see it getting worse. They really are a modern day public disgrace.

Where does it state Magennis out for 3 months? Big blow if accurate. Very big blow.

Not looking for a public execution, I meant the guy or any other guys could get a shot as its not like what we have currently is delivering so, why not?
