Unless the Away end is sold out no-one cares which seat you sit in. And the Away end won't be sold out this Saturday.

I've asked a lot of Saints fans what they think McCarthy done last season to be dropped this season and no one can give an answer. Conor is the best center back at the club. That's not to say I think the others are no good.

McCarthy was the best man on the pitch at Livingston.

I’m in the same position, sitting over an hour away from Paisley. I’ve already had a moan about the fact that we’re only releasing details about tickets 5 days before the game.
Add in the lack of online sales and no details as to whether you can actually have them posted out (maybe you can if you are lucky enough to get through on the phone line).
Apparently no sales on the day at the stadium - although we’ve been told that before and turned up at grounds to find a ticket booth in operation. That for me is a real disappointment having previously went out of my way to drive to Paisley to the ticket office, only to find match day sales at away stadiums.
I get that clubs want to keep last minute match day sales to a minimum but find that a shambolic way to treat fans.

Great interview with Dylan on the Saints site...

16-year-old Dylan Reid impressed as he made his first start for St Mirren in Saturday’s cinch Premiership match against Dundee United.

The St Mirren Youth Academy graduate made history in March when he became the youngest ever player to feature in the Scottish Premiership at the age of 16 years and five days after a substitute appearance against Rangers at Ibrox.

After waiting patiently for his next opportunity, the midfielder played 74 minutes on Saturday in Saints’ 0-0 draw with the Terrors.

It all comes just a week after the 16-year-old captained Scotland U17s in a friendly against Wales during the international break.

Speaking after his start, Dylan told stmirren.com: "It was great.

"I found out on Friday that I was going to be in the team. I was quite nervous, but it was good nerves. I slept like a baby that night.

"With injuries and suspensions, I knew I could maybe get a chance. The manager told me I had an opportunity and to go and take it. Hopefully I did that and impressed people.

"I just wanted to go out and express myself and challenge myself and I felt I did that.

"It was my first time playing in front of fans and I thought they were excellent. When I had a tackle in the first-half there was a roar from the fans and it gave me a bit of confidence.

"I’ve been patient and tried to be the best that I can, but it was so great to be out there playing football."

The 16-year-old made way after 74 minutes for midfielder Ryan Flynn and says he looks up to experienced players like that.

"Ryan is such a good player," Dylan said.

"I hate playing against him in training because he's so good and he showed his class when he came on.

"I’ve wanted to learn from other players when I’ve been watching from the
    sidelines.

"Guys like that just give me confidence and after games they tell me what I did well and what I could do better which I love and take on board."

Is there a Ryan Flynn thread running where I can post my thoughts on Matt Millar?

Connor looks a player. Great debut considering he isn't match fit. Will certainly improve the team.

Thought that we were very poor in the first half, as United side that are very ordinary, should have been at least one up at HT.
Two defensive re-shuffles  made us a bit more solid at the back in the second half.
We certainly looked the better team in the second half, although United seem to finish as well as we do.
Disallowed goal seemed as if it was a strong challenge rather than a foul.
Millar looked promising, but was clearly struggling for match fitness, and I thought that Ronan looked like a player. Both will improve the team, when up to speed.

FFS What a sorry excuse for a thread this is. Welcome Matt, though I hope you aren't actually reading all this. You wouldn't know this thread is about you would you? Hopefully the missing piece of the jigsaw for us. The very best of luck to you.

Don't really have a problem with a safe standard area however those standing must not block the view of those sitting in adjacent areas. Not everyone is fit enough or wants to stand up for 2 hours. I support Slash's idea of using the area between the South and West Stands maybe at some point in the future but no point wasting money on it in W7 just now.

I agree that it would be too expensive changing existing stands. I think the only realistic option would be to use the space between Family and West as a dedicated standing zone.
That way the club could utilise the option of segregating the West stand once again for larger away crowds as W7 crew would most likely be the ones that move to a dedicated standing zone.
I think moving W7 crew there would enhance the atmosphere in the ground as the sound would likely travel better across all the home stands than where they are located now.

I hope I’m wrong, but JG has a stubborn streak and be inflexible to change. It could well lead to his downfall as we stay rooted to the bottom of the league.

I don’t know what’s happened but all the carry on with the club during the  summer has left me feeling a bit fed up. I genuinely don’t feel that bothered at present . We are a bit of a shambles in all areas and when the club starts to treat the fans with respect I’ll hopefully get my enthusiasm back. Until then I will keep watching and supporting but signing some lad from wolves third team hardly excites me
