Aye, well done. Looks good and is justified for the folk who are prepared to take over ownership when no-one else was willing to.

There is never going to be a system that satisfies all... but like you, I would happily have voted tor the two community involvement options at a total of £1,000... less than some of the others.
Whatever the criticisms, the guys at the helm are listening, and adapting things to show they are listening to the membership. Fair play to them for that, and especially to Kenny for being so actively engaged on here.

Some good points on this thread and the saving funds option would be absolutely fine if that's how the vote goes. For me though (as I've said in other threads) it's all about St Mirren. That's the team I support and that's the team I want to give the best possible chance now and in the future. It's all fantastic planning for the future when we own the club but in the here and now if they think a sports scientist would benefit them and gym equipment that's where my X is going this quarter.

Not saying about anyone in particular but I hope the 'it's us and them' approach disappears pronto. I'm a lot more concerned about the benefit to St Mirren football club than saying these are things they should be funding themselves. If we can save their budget in anyway, brilliant [emoji106]

Maybe I'm being overly simplistic here, but surely it makes good financial sense for the club to "borrow" money from the SMISA kitty (which is sitting there) - rather than adjust budgets and inherit cashflow/budget problems? (avoiding eating into the wage budget during the season)
If I'm reading this correctly - they simply borrowed the cash to fix the USH issue short term - with a promise to put the cash back into the SMISA kitty once money becomes available?
I have no problem with this if so

I'd like to think that in time, at some point, some of the SMiSA money could be used to fund wee bits and pieces around the stadium to make it better.
I know there are some people who think we should be feeding every homeless person in Scotland using the money, but first and foremost if SMiSA can help improve the matchday experience, like we've already done for the Disabled Supporters then that for me would be a big positive.

This is a sound idea that needn't cost a lot. For example, in the home concourses at Celtic Park they have affixed to the walls frames that take newspapers. They have been filled with the newspaper reports of famous Celtic wins. I was using someone's ST to watch us get thumped there back in our top flight days and stopped to read some of the reports at H/T. I have kept a collection of our cup final win newspaper reports, pretty sure lots of Saints fans have too. Maybe the Fan Council / SMiSA could look into the possibilty of affixing something similar within the home stands, and ask fans to donate suitable material to insert into them.

Our stadium is a bit sh!t, pretty much everyone accepts that, Outwith the main stand there really isn't much to it.
I may well get shot down for this but once Rangers redeveloped Ibrox, outwith the main stand, they pretty much had a brand new stadium as well. The made the stadium their own which is what we have to do with ours. Can't we at the very least emulsion the walls underneath the stands, the areas in and around the pie stalls & toilets? Put up Saints pictures, old kits etc? Giving each stand an identity and make it truly a St Mirren Park.
I understand we have bigger priorities on the park but what do we as fans think? This is something I feel strongly about as it is OUR stadium.

I take it you had an agenda with the last board too? Stop throwing about negativity and support the club along and let the board do their job instead of having a personal vendetta against the man who has made fan ownership a real possibility. There was never any indication prior to the takeover that Gordon would be putting any additional funds from his own money in, SMISA and GS were very transparent about this at the meeting with the fans last Feb/March. The club was handed over with a similar day to day running, though the new board are looking at exploring new avenues to bringing in additional income to the club etc, something i am pretty sure that is in motion in the background.
The club doesn't need any more negative pish spouted at a time when on the park, we are in a critical situation and need to gather a positive vibe amongst the supporters and players to get us out of this mess.

It's like the vote to give more money to the players budget, 88% voted in favour but you wouldn't have thought so reading on here. The vast majority are of members are positive about what SMiSA are doing. The vast majority don't post on here. As to the numbers on the SMISA board this is only important to trouble makers and nit pickers.
The only thing that matters is that they're doing what they believe is the best for St Mirren FC. In my opinion there is no doubt that they are doing just that.

The turnover of the business is actually £2.48m in the last accounts and the Wage bill is £1.16m. This is a ratio of 46% which is miles below the PWC ceiling recommendation of 60% in this industry. The club is prudently run on that basis.
The season will have 20 weeks left to run when the window opens on 1st Jan. So the £9K equates to around £450 p/w in additional funding for the managers budget. It's a small amount but it's additional budget he doesn't currently have at his disposal. If that means he can attract a better quality of player to the club, or if it means he has scope for adding another couple of hundred quid a week to entice the likes of Kyle McAllister to sign a new deal, then it's worth the punt at this current time in my, and 88% of the SMiSA members who voted, opinion.
Yes we should be living within our means, but these are extraordinary circumstances and quite frankly £9K will be a drop in the ocean if we wind up in the 3rd tier and the local community will actually be the hardest hit in that scenario.

SMiSA has initiated and published a trial edition the popular free newspaper ‘The Saint’ and copies will initially be available and distributed at the end of Saturdays match against Ayr United.

The new twelve-page edition has a targeted circulation of 11,000 copies and the success and the future of the publication will depend on the response from fans, both in terms of feedback on the content and the help provided with the distribution.

Firstly, we need help to hand out copies to every saints fan as they leave the ground this Saturday, so if you are able to help please get in touch by emailing [email protected] or just turn up on the day and offer assistance to any of the fellow buds already handing them out

It would also add to the wider marketing of St.Mirren FC for every saints fan to be involved and help promote your club by taking a couple of copies and passing on to friends and neighbours, or by leaving a copy in your local shop, pub, library etc etc.

The main purpose of this wide distribution plan is two-fold

    1)       To provide awareness of fan groups activities and encourage more fans to sign up to SMiSA

    2)      To provide information on all things St.Mirren to the wider community of Renfrewshire, and beyond, and encourage them to get involved in the activities, including match day attendance.

This venture is providing a practical opportunity for every saints fan to actively promote St.Mirren FC but requires minimal time or effort, where by assisting with distribution (even by passing on one copy), or engaging with potential sponsors for future editions we would like to hear from you.

on line availability - yes that's the intention, will announce when available
copies were distributed today to 1877 club (200) hospitality(100), stm airport car parking(300) and newspaper distribution company 1500 (don't know the name of company but many thanks to Des) as well as at the match and individual shops etc
we could however do with more involvement from supporters and there are more copies available at the stadium if anyone has any ideas for further distribution.
please get in touch if you can assist

One day someone will write something positive about how our club is being run I look forward to that day.
SMiSA in my opinion have been dealt a sh*t hand with a poor manager and a poor squad of players. Not only that they have an under soil heating issue and problems at Ralston to deal with.
The new manager looks like he's coming to grips with our squad and we look to be turning the corner. Surely to God our priority must be to support our manager and stay in the league. Being relegated would be a disastrous thing for the club and supporters.
Lets stick together for a change and stop moaning about seat plaques, 1877 club etc etc and get right behind the people running our club and make sure we stay up. If we go down all the other moans and groans will pale into oblivion.
We need to get our priorities right and staying in this league needs to be the number one priority.
     I voted yes, yes.
