Let's Move On .. Saints V Killie 17/8/13
bigjerseybuddie replied to shull's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Watching on teuchtervision we appear very nervy and uncertain. Possibly due to changes in personnel. It just seems that our players aren't sure of themselves or each other. In saying that it looks like teale has another great season ahead, harkins is a very gifted footballer, thommo was unlucky not to score a couple and will score a few this season no doubt. Some early criticism of the new keeper pre season but he does try to start a move off rather than lumping it up the park. Definitely some promising signs along with plenty of work to do. -
You put your poiny across very well

I heard fleetwood mac have started a rumour -
Flirting with relegation year after year is getting very tedious. Playing too near the edge of a cliff you will eventually fall down it. One game in and it feels like that already. Like others I'm bored silly with the Campbell scenario. What is more worrying is the apparent lack of movement for other players. These days, however confidential clubs try to keep their affairs, something always gets leaked by someone. Absolutely nothing happening and it just adds to the feeling of inevitability regarding relegation. I generally dont subscribe to over reaction when results don't go our way but we do seem very poorly prepared for the games ahead.

Once again a forum is used inappropriately to slate our own players. Being entitled to an opinion is one thing, poisoning a speculation thread with it is another thing entirely. Gone are the days where there were plenty of humorous anecdotes to enjoy ( I still giggle at pozbairds story about the vicious Dundee pie) I speculate that at least one person on here will have a sarcastic comment to make about my sensitivities.

The Vegan, Plastic & Climate Change Fecking Fanatics

Are we supposed to feel guilty just because a polar bear can't read a compass? that photo looks like it was taken at the foot of the campsies. -
Just watched highlights. Dvz was very unfortunate indeed at the pen. Cornell was getting pelters on here yesterday. The only thing he was guilty of was being a wee bit timid in the challenge which unluckily went straight to an inverness player. Obviously I wasn't at the game but the most worrying thing seems to be the capitulation of the players which points to poor leadership. When it's not going well players will look around for guidance and encouragement. Let's hope a great deal has been learned from yesterday as my ticker won't take yet another nail biting season. I've asked the missus to order a defibrillator from amazon, fingers crossed it arrives before our next game.

Ok I Will Start It Sack Danny
bigjerseybuddie replied to kilwinningbuddie's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
We have arguably the most creative midfielders in the league but they will get sucked into mediocrity when the defence is disorganised and the attack is one player isolated on his own. Our new keeper isn't the first to have a few 'mares and go on to have a great season. There is a sense of Danny either wearing Rose tinted glasses or not having enough nous in the transfer/contact stakes. Watching Ross county today it was clear that they have a footballing philosophy that each player understands and is comfortable with. They also appear to have the ability to carry it out.how did they get these players, most of which would be unheard of? We keep hearing about our great facilities and our desire to play football as it should be played yet we cannot attract the players capable of representing these values. Are we that unattractive to decent players? -
Anytime ive seen dvz he seems decent going forward but is easily taken out of position defensively. Danny describes him as a an excellent professional which means he is one of his favourites. That is the root of Dannys shortcomings. He is too loyal and blinkered to obvious weak links in the team
-
What's the betting Danny focuses on the poor penalty decision " it turned the gam blah blah" " we were comfortable up till then blah blah blah" Obviously I'm not at the game but 3 0 down and he makes a double substitution like that is baffling. I would looking for some really good answers from him on Monday or I'd be warning him he better shift his arse in 1) strengthening the squad and 2) making better decisions when under pressure.

I had hoped that our days of waiting on the likes of Aberdeen to score at Dundee last season were behind us. I'm usually pretty optimistic but I don't feel that way now thank god it's hot and sunny!

Danny Says No More Signings
bigjerseybuddie replied to TediousTom's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Danny and St Mirren must be held in very high regard when a premiership club like Newcastle are willing to send their players on loan.Clubs the stature of Newcastle invest a great deal of time and money on development. They cannot afford to send a player somewhere he is not likely to improve. That is a huge compliment to a team like ours. Danny comes in for a great deal of criticism but he clearly has a great skill in bringing on young players. Long may it continue -
So What's The Ideal Starting 11 This Season?
bigjerseybuddie replied to bazil85's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
I still have a feeling there is another signing on the way. We don't need cover for thommo, we need a partner for him who can pull opposition defences out of position. Perhaps our midfield can do this job but I think it works better to have someone who is a pest to allow thommo the time to concentrate on just scoring goals rather than chase the game. I am much happier about our defence now we have granger. From what I have seen of him his reading of the game is excellent which should instill confidence in the rest of the defence. -
How anyone can use the rumour mill to slate one of our own players is beyond me. If I was cheesy or a relative of his I would seriously question the term "supporter". We are all entitled to our opinions but the rumour mill isn't the place to air them. Anyway has anyone heard a decent rumour recently that doesn't involve the capabilities of our present squad?

I would willingly pay for such a service. It would at least give my wife and kids a break from my screeching at a silent screen and giving them heart failure. -
Danny Says No More Signings
bigjerseybuddie replied to TediousTom's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
If the loan signings from Newcastle are true then why are they not already at the club? Is it down purely to finance or is it yet another non story? Any signing now will have very little " bedding in" time and let's face it I have yet to meet a patient St Mirren supporter! Is it possible that either Newton or Dummet are coming back therefore already familiar with our style? So many unanswered questions. I usually look forward to a new season with a degree of misguided optimism, however I admit to being a tad worried about our lack of depth. -
If lovestreet keeps this up he might just get one PM too many ( post mortem). playing on the vulnerable and deluded he should be ashamed of himself. Gies a signing!
