There has been a number of people on here, myself included, who have made lighthearted comments about Danny referring to himself in the third person. However Im really beginning to think that he is trying to detach himself from responsibility when he does this. That asks questions regarding his mental and emotional state. Look at the last few saints managers and they all appear to have lost the plot at some point towards the end of their tenure. It would seem the same thing is happening to poor Danny. Time to get help wee man and surrender the reins before it's too late. I personally hate to see anyone become unwell through the stress of work.

Is this saga at the core of what's wrong? There is clearly something amiss. Lee mair will naturally have some mates in the team. Perhaps they are unhappy with the methods used by Danny to offload him ( which clearly haven't worked as yet) is Dannys authority and leadership being challenged? So many questions and speculation. People have opinions on every player and Lee is no different. Last question: would we be stronger now by including him in the team?

Excellent, balanced assessment of the season so far. It would also suggest that the players are behind Danny and vice versa. He is not pretending all is well and neither is he awfulising everything. We shall see come next Saturday, which would appear to be the do or die game for Danny as far as some fans are concerned. Thank god we've got someone articulate at the club.

Poor Danny should never have led us to a cup win. The poor man had led us to believe greater things were to come. If we hadn't won the league cup the current lack of good form would not have such a major impact on people's expectations. I will never forget the euphoria of that occasion, the weeks leading up to it and the singing and dancing for weeks afterwards. Fast forward to now and we sit like men on death row, some hysterical, some accepting our fate, others trying to work out how to escape without a key. Danny is the present governor who has to be the most popular in terms of personality ever to lead our great club. Who wouldn't want him to succeed? However, nice guys rarely win things in sport. Our Danny needs to develop a ruthless streak and instil some fight into the players and stop rolling the red carpet out to the opposition. Only then will we see more fruitful results and Danny keeps his job.

Caprice should NEVER been handed his home debut in that fashion. The only subs you should use at that stage are subs who have some sort of scoring record. As far as I'm aware caprice isn't that sort of player. From the little I've seen of him on YouTube his pace might just be the ideal foil for the new french lad up front who by all accounts is no slouch himself.
Oh, and lastly, when I was a wee boy I used to abuse players too. It kinda made me feel like a tough guy...........then I grew up.

My view on today's game and recent concerns from the supporters.

Wouldn't have changed the defence that we put out. It is the strongest defence we have with the players we have. We are unable to judge McGregor at this point in time.

Midfield, unfortunately, is where it all went pair shaped. Teale should have started. If he was carrying an injury, he was fit enough to play the second half and therefore should have started to put us in the strongest position possible. Newton has played one game at right midfield before today, and that was at home to Ross County in his first game where he got hooked for being awful. Why he was played there? Only Danny knows.

McGowan hasn't been a main feature in the team this season, but he is without doubt our best player, so there must be reasons for that behind the scene.

McGinn is not a holding midfielder, the only players we have capable of playing that role is Goodwin and Newton, so we lacked the fight necessary in this league to win right away. Harkins is also not a central midfielder, on the left in a 4-5-1 or in a role behind the front two, then he will do well. He does not track back and therefore we were always going to struggle in the midfield.

Up front, we have all been shouting that Thompson is unable to play up front by himself. Therefore, I was behind Danny's decision to play the new guy up front. Amusing to find some supporters saying that he shouldn't have started because he was only signed yesterday... make up your mind. Thought he looked unfit and had a couple of poor touches, but he was getting long balls played to him all throughout the first half and didn't seem to know what to do. If we have Teale putting balls into the box, I'm confident we would have seen a different side to him.

First half we were very poor. Thistle were allowed so much space it was unbelievable. They simply wandered through the midfield. BUT, I was thankful we got to half time and after bringing Teale on felt we had an 'out' for the ball and started to look a bit better. Especially with Newton being moved back into the central midfield position. However, once again, showed that Thompson can not play up front himself.

We were lucky to take the lead but unfortunately couldn't keep them out (despite a few good saves). As soon as the first goal went in the heads went down. I thought Goodwin was buried in the park after the second went in!

Partick Thistle deserved their win and were excellent throughout. What they lacked in 'quality' they certainly made up with determination and desire. A welcome additional to the SFPL. They reminded me very much of us when we came up, plenty of fight and bottle, but just a lack of a cutting edge.

I was generally gutted for Danny Lennon tonight. I'm only 23 years of age, so the cup win was without a doubt the greatest day/week of my life so far. He is such a nice guy. However, it is a results driven business and in the league (which is our bread and butter) he has not delivered. The board are all St Mirren supporters and will no doubt have some food for thought tonight, however I personally believe that a change is needed. Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes is all you need. But I will always be thankful for Lennon for the memories and if the board decide to let him go, then he goes with my very best wishes.

What has dissapointed me in the last few weeks is the disgusting supporters who think it is ok to give personal abuse either online or sitting in the stand to a guy simply trying his best to do his job. If these morons even have jobs, I'd personally like to spend the day at their work shouting behind them telling them they are a f'king idiot.

Having read Dannys comments on the BBC website it would appear that he is not for quitting. He actually makes some very honest remarks on the general situation we find ourselves in. Like most others on here I want to see Danny succeed, but I support St Mirren more than I do Danny Lennon. He really needs something of a miracle to survive "at this moment in time". The cup win is now a distant memory.lastly Im not convinced that tommy Craig is the right man for no 2 it seems that there are communication problems once the game is underway, and by reading accounts of the game tommy Craig is the one shouting conflicting instructions from the dug out. Is danny too soft and perhaps intimidated by tommys reputation?

When other less experienced managers are more tactically astute than Danny then we have a problem. Someone else said they thought he looked unwell. I would agree with this as he does look as if he has lost weight. He is a genuinely good guy and does not deserve abuse of any description.
St Mirren football club has a duty of care to all it's employees and as much I doubt whether or not Danny can guide us out of this mess, he does deserve all the help and support we can give him. I react emotionally after a defeat like everyone else and call for his head, but once calm returns would anyone here like to be the one who says " I'm sorry mr Lennon but your sacked"
