  1. Farewell to overpaid foreigners?
  2. Agree on the price tag side from the point of the view that a way to include people unfortunate not to be able to afford £10 a month should be a priority. No question. The rest I think I'll leave you to you to argue. FWIW I do know people who left SMISA because they felt it was developing into a clique. I haven't been as I'm 400 miles away so I don't know one way or the other. It is possible SMISA have some work to make what the constitution says a reality.
  3. Has crossed my mind that some people might pay less once the debt's paid off. My guess is most would keep it going. A bit like most things on your bank account after a while it just becomes normal after a while.
  4. Might also be the browser version. Especially if you are using an older version that not many people still use and GoCardLess won't be set up to handle.
  5. Same for me. I'm in England so pretty much impossible to get to any meetings. However, if the CIC bid goes through then I think it's time the two parties to put aside any frustrations, compromise as necessary and for SMISA to get on board. I must admit too that after a period - perhaps once the interim board has done its job - that the reason for SMISA's existence may no longer exist?
  6. Going to be discussed on Sportsound which starts in the next few minutes
  7. Up to 107%. Large pat on the back to all involved Div take a bow for your efforts here over past few days.
  8. Have always thought that type of idea would work though I suspect guys like Gahagan are on a big wedge. At a guess it might up to £1K???? I wonder if guys like Dougie Vipond, Chris Brookmyre and Chick Young might speak free gratis? I once asked Campbell Money to speak at an event and he was crapping himself at the thought of public speaking. On that basis he should be first up
  9. Never met REA and know GLS from years back in 'playing football' capacity - In my case more verging on incapacity. I'm in on principle and because guys like Div, Poz, etc.and others seem like sound guys. For REA to put the amount effort in his own time that he has is a convincer for me too. That's the sort of spirit we need to capture in future. Most people won't have the time, energy or will to be on the CIC Board, but just about everyone can contribute to a clearer future just by being a member IMO.
  10. http://www.paisleydailyexpress.co.uk/renfrewshire-sport/2012/06/12/fitzy-lined-up-for-saints-stint-number-five-87085-31160586/
  11. You might be entitled but that doesn't mean you are going to take it.
  12. Knowing one of the major shareholders you highlight I'd be amazed if he wants anything for his shares.
  13. That's a big generalisation you make. I'm in SMISA and have signed up to the CIC. I can afford £10 a month and the relatively small gamble. However, I agree with the SMISA committee that given the lump of cash they have that every care must be taken before committing. I am pretty sure there are other SMISA supporters in the same boat. No point in stirring up divisions where there aren't necessarily any.
  14. The fair and proper bidders have had the same period as the CIC to tell us about themselves, i.e., since the club was put up for sale. And to date they have told us nothing. They'd better get moving if you want to see who they are. Else there's nothing judge against for any of us.
  15. There might be a Tommy Craig connection. I remember seeing him play for Scotland under 21s at centre-back. Certainly makes sense as can play LB too. Darren McGregor for midfield?
  16. It appears you now have a choice. A level of involvement however distasteful or two unknown buyers. Which would you rather have and why?
  17. Because it;s affecting the health of some of the board and the CIC has taken so long they have run out of patience. The R+ng+rs can't be easy to handle and I guess as a result the financial situation may not be great for all the reasons discussed.
  18. If it's on ESPN I can watch it in the deepest south... Everybody who can should get there IMO.
  19. There a few things here. As stated above if we don't like what's happening we have recourse to an EGM, There needs to be some sort of structure in place to get started and after that we can effect change if we don't like it. Both the CIC board and the club are interim until the AGM in November. Seems fair enough. Do we really expect to be handed a CIC for nothing? £10 a month is fair enough by me. it's been a long process. If individual supporters who have strong reservations about the structure of the CIC really wanted to make their voice heard the process it would have been relatively easy to get together to use strength in numbers. Either there is no depth to the numbers or a lack of will to do anything much except complain on here - you had your chance. SMISA is the exception and as a far flung member I know they have questions they want answers to. If SMISA get enough info to say 'yes' on balance then it's a big plus.
  20. Not much hurry IMO. I suspect the rest of our signings will not be from Scottish clubs except possibly the goalkeeper.
  21. Decent article about the CIC in today's Herald http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/football/st-mirren-director-hopes-supporters-see-bigger-picture-despite-sketchy-details.17775460 I have signed up after a lot of thought. Fingers tightly crossed for the CIC to go ahead on my part.
  22. I know you are being ironic. What it may do is force some fans to stop stirring it. They might even have to meet face-to-face and work together for the benefit of the CIC/club. Can only be a good thing.
  23. Agree Sid though as Div alludes to if the supporters had agitated much more - me included - a better conduit could have been in place from the start. That said as a far flung member of SMISA I know they too are hacked off with the lack of info. There's been too much emphasis on getting the CIC structure together as you say IMO without enough thought for the supporters who will fund it. However, if the June timescale on CIC is being imposed by a frustrated board there may be no room for movement at this stage. Agree with Div from a layperson's point of view that SG at least should be involved on the interim board. And for the interim board if I am not talking out of a hole in my head - possible - to develop the constitution in consultation with the membership and then vote on it. I'd very much like to see a couple of fans on the interim board too. REA has asked what talents are out there, well here's an opportunity I hope for a couple of supporters with the right skills.
