  1. Irish poet, gone aged 74. He wrote his rhymes to earn a crust But now he’s deid, he’s bit the dust I’m not familiar with his verses So let’ s be grateful for small mercies
  2. Good point oaksoft, our BoD have chosen some belters over the years. They have a lot to answer for when you look at how well teams like Motherwell, St Johnstone and ICT have done in recent years. As you correctly allude to we always end up with duffers.
  3. Not necessarily the one I would have preferred to return to Cowdenbeath.
  4. You forgot to mention, He was part of the Scotland set-up under Craig Levein, surely the most disastrous period in our nation's football history (worse than under Herr Volks). He refused to take a pay cut at Tannadice, where he would have been earning a load more than we would offer. He also drinks in my local pub in Glasgow East.
  5. I see you are playing the "I'm a better supporter than you are" card, Greig. Aye, some of our so-called supporters are just clowns that travel to Inverness, Dingwall and Dumfries hoping to see us lose. Should we interpret your post as inferring that you would never call on our BoD to sack a manager ? Is there no stage at which you would acknowledge that a change of leadership is required ? Would DL still have your support if we lose our next 3 league games ? What about if we lose our next 6 games ? Or 10 games ? Still back him or call for his head ?
  6. Show this post to your teenagers. Proof of the harm that drink and drugs can do to the human brain.
  7. There's probably Rheims of paperwork to be sorted out. Maybe he'd prefer to sign for Terry Butcher at Calais Thistle.
  8. The team are floundering, two 3-0 defeats in our first three games, disjointed and gutless performances, total arse-collapses after losing the first goal in both games, so let's get to the root of the problem. The fans are to blame, the guys who travelled to Inverness and Dingwall to follow St Mirren are responsible.
  9. What makes this thread "Anti-St Mirren", shull ? Even those who are advocating the sack for DL shouldn't be accused of being anti-St Mirren as they obviously see that option as the best way forward for the club. The Pro-DL and the Anti-DL have opposing viewpoints but they have the same desire for success for our wee team. I agree it is a fairly pointless thread, but no more so than many others we see started on here. e.g. whereabouts-on-Neilston-Road-to-go-for-the-best-bargain-bacon-rolls-and-a-cuppa-tea kinda thread.
  10. I thought we already had a foreign manager. What language does he speak in his post-match interviews ?
  11. That pair were so bad they made Morecambe & Wise look funny.
  12. I remember when Tom Hendrie 'lost the Dressing Room'. It is becoming apparent that Danny Lennon has now 'lost the Chat Room'.
  13. I don't think we should jump to any conclusions about today's performance or make any knee-jerk decisions about DL's future at SMFC until we hear what those who travelled to Dingwall have to say about what they witnessed today. Only after we get the viewpoint of those who observed /suffered the performance first hand should we be screaming at the B.O.D to sack the useless, clueless, shit-for-brains, no-talent manager right away before this season goes any further.
  14. I hope this is nonsense, I would hate it if Ian Black got into any bother. I've always liked him as a player and as an all round good bloke. Bazinga !
  15. That means hee-haw to me, Bagpipebaws.
  16. I've never been impressed by Welbeck, he always looked like a carthorse. I changed my mind after seeing him last night.
  17. Good point. I should have started a new thread.
  18. Oh good, a whole new thread regurgitating the same old same old all over again. Knickerwetters blah blah blah. Only played one league game blah blah blah. Blah, blah, blah.
  19. Aye, lay off Danny. With a bad attitude reputation already hanging over Imrie at the time we should be roasting the manager that signed him for St Mirren.
  20. When did SMiSA buy the stadium ? I must have missed that one.
  21. Well, more or less. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-business-23566054 Business going tits-up.
  22. The squad is about four players and an inspirational leader in the dugout short , lets hope we use the next two weeks well. Mr Motivator needed.
  23. The board are determined to keep us out of debt. This is sensible and prudent. Lennon has a restricted budget to work with which makes it tough for him to put a top quality side onthe park. All of this is true. Question ! What level of budget do Butcher or Adams have to work with ? If Lennon's player budget is smaller than theirs then our b.o.d. are condemning us to relegation. But I don't believe Lennon has less £££ to work with than those Highlanders, they just use it better. They have better managers than we do.
  24. Well done to everyone who travelled north today, i wasn't one of them. This fixture looked like an accident waiting to happen. I don't want us to be drawn into a debate about a dodgy refereeing decision when the problem is surely elsewhere and much more deep seated. Today was the team's performance up to scratch ? What is needed to fix it? Will 1 or 2 loanees from Newcastle be enough to transform what we already have into the team we deserve ? Would 2 loanees PLUS 1 or 2 experienced players added to the squad make it right ? If not, the answer is that we require major surgery. Maybe SPS has been the voice of reason all along. The root of the problem may be more fundamental. Maybe Wee Clueless has to go now before the damage becomes too serious. 3-0 may turn out to be the result that turned our season round and set us on the right road.
