  1. Think we went on a primary school trip to the once state of the art 1970's leisure centre. I guess The Lagoon stole a chunk of it's market eventually...
  2. Was the drunken bam on horseback just off the Belfast ferry ?
  3. Several folk on here completely failing on the point of all this. Stroll on fellas...
  4. So no need to defend the bus, when there wasn't one and this all happens on a train ?
  5. Was there a Bankhouse bus on Saturday ?
  6. You had me until the train home bit, not sure what all the fuss is about ?
  7. When you see young guys in their teens and twenties at 10am on a railway platform with big 1ltr bottles of Buckfast and cases of lager about them, you know it's gonna get messy. The question I'd be asking myself is why would I need to get that tanked up before a beginning of season cup tie, or any tie for that matter ? It's like folk who go to music festivals shit faced and don't remember a thing about it. Just seems bizarre, that's all !
  8. A young lassie with a wean in pram attempted to board the train at Girvan, took one look as it pulled in and opted not too. A small group of lassies dolled up for a night out were subjected to a mass tirade of cat calls and wolf whistles as the train pulled in at Maybole, they spent the journey to Ayr huddled in the door well of the carriage end, trying to keep out the way. Some other lads offered abuse towards the female ticket inspector on the way down when they failed to understand why a massive flag tied over the train window might present a safety hazard. As said, a bit of boisterousness on the way to an away game, might be acceptable, might be all fun and games to some, there's a time and a place though.
  9. Doctor Whoooaarrr !!!
  10. We're top of the league and they're no ! Nothing to fear from any of this lot at all.
  11. Excellent start to this season, most enjoyable.
  12. Thought the 'Zagreb' strip looked great personally. It is the away kit after all or did you not realise this ?
  13. Totally agree, I'm currently 'enjoying' the entertainment on the 1903 from Stranraer. Same scenes as this morning, buckied up young crew forgetting this ain't a supporters bus. Think I'll get off at Ayr to let my ears recover from the so far 90 mins of full on 'If ye hate the f*ckin rangers !' :-0

Speaking of co-ops, I see the former Wellmeadow co-op (circa 1984) has been demolished, leaving a huge crater like hole in it's place. Used to work the Friday shelf stacking nightshift in there whilst at school & college. Remember doing a backshift with the radio playing through the customer PA system, the mic button held in 'open' position with a large tin of beans normally, as the news of the Lockerbie incident began to filter through as a bizarre series of updating news flashes.

    TRNSMT

On Saturday afternoon, Geoff Ellis was talking about having a traditional festival somewhere with camping as well as retaining TRNSMT for the day tripper crowd. I think the actual TITP brand may be a bit lost in time now though personally. Especially given it's tarnished reputation and the fact TRNSMT is the festival that's actually in a park now.

Correct, Causeyside St signage can be seen today and then on the Clydesdale Bank building facing Dunn Square.

That's not the signage I'm meaning, it was on the next corner up at Forbes Place/Causeyside St above the current coffee shop entrance. My memory was of three large neon letters within large circular neon fixtures that lit up one at a time then stayed on all together briefly before repeating the cycle. As mentioned already I think it said C.W.S which would apply to their foodstore where Farmfoods is, their supermarkets came under the auspices of the Co-operative Wholesale Society then. One of the many different facets and divisions of what is now known simply as 'The Co-op'.

As expected, TRNSMT to return in 2018, I anticpate an early sell out. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-40573467
  23. It's recorded twice, once 'professionally' in the tv studio with correct dialogue and acting, then again that evening in front of an audience as live theatre with all the corpsing and ad libs. What you eventually see on screen is a hybrid edit of both versions. Great bunch of folk to work with, some of the best in fact.

Should be more highlights shows on tv, I think the rule of thumb plan was for main stage coverage on tv and Tuts stage coverage mainly online. But full sets should be online for everyone.
