  1. I think Terry Butcher is an excellent option , he is available , has contacts , people now who he is , and worth taking a chance on with a 2 and half year contract , he will also have the team playing with a bit of passion , and has a point to prove , get him in now , and he can get Steve Marsella working his magic
  2. Steven Thompson would be the person to get a bit of fight about the team , Jimmy Nicholl would be an excellent mentor , and Teale can give David Longwell a hand running the development team , all four can play a significant part in taking St Mirren forward . We need to be a bit more competitive , a bit more attack minded , and a bit more confident about our ability , we need positive people about and I think sTEVEN Thompson and Jimmy Nicholl would give the team a lift and will get the team playing for them.
  3. Wouldn,t be overly enthusiastic bout Teale and Goodwin motivating the team , shouldn,t they be doing that already , and are they not partly responsible for the position we are in
  4. I actually thought Osborne was excellent yesterday , and McLean and McGinn played well in patches , think we need at least three new signings during the transfer window ( strong centre half , ball winning midfielder and a striker ) , and Wylde and Plummer fit to have a chance of getting out the bottom three . We also need a manager that can get the team to believe in themselves . But for the first time in while I saw a bit of fight about the team.
  5. we need someone in very soon , so we can at least make a few changes during the transfer window . this league is very tight and a couple of decent signings and a new manager , could really kickstart our season
  6. half time , the fifteen minutes that the manager has to motivate the team , make a couple of tactical changes and turn the game in St Mirrens favour . I have every confidence
  7. Probably TC , as they would have to book a bus to take the team up
  8. Inverness away in League Cup , Martin Cameron had a good goal disallowed , so it was a few years back , Thought the club would at least organise a bus , and charge fans to go on it , just to get some support for the team on the park
  9. Could be the worst away Saints support in a competitive match ever , remember going up to Inverness years ago midweek in the league cup , and we had a pretty small support , but tomorrow could be an embarrassment , hoping we put a decent team out and make an effort to win the tie
  10. Got 30 quid on Morton at 9/4 to win League One , so hoping he does very well this season
  11. Can I just send some one to go in my place , or do I have to notify someone first ?
  12. Div posted exiting team news regarding St Mirren promising 2 new signings so I put a couple of quid on Saints to win
  13. Basic fact of sports science is that athletes are at their best between 23 - 30 , look at the ages of the current international football team , top athletes etc , so it would make sense for the majority of the starting line up to be between these ages , with a couple of youngster and a couple of over thirties . If we are competing in a league where we are likely to be fighting for survival , we should have an experienced well organised hard working team . what we had at the start of the season was a couple of old codgers and a bunch of boys poor Tommy set up to fail
  14. Theres no doubt , that all the players mentioned are good footballers , but its the type of player that grafts when his team are two nil down that we want , and maybe with the exception of Gowser , none of them come into that category.
  15. didn,t get a chance to bring any players to Hibs , but appointing someone like him to actively scout for players in the lower leagues in England , might allow us to put together am with a bit of shape to it , I,m led to believe that he is asked to sign certain types of player , and then goes out looking for players that best fit that description , and theres no doubt that he did a good job at Inverness.
  16. I think Steve Marsella would be a good addition to the management team , probably within our budget , and with so many players out of contract at the end of season , he could be a huge asset .
  17. Wouldn,t need to do much , just drive the Reserve team mini bus , put out the cones and hold the numbers up at substitutions
  18. Like Gerry Baker and Ian Ferguson in previous cup winning teams , he had a fantastic impact in a short period of time . In some games looked supurb , in other games he didn,t look interested , But definitely a St Mirren legend
  19. Looking back , Goodwin and Teale were very poor choices , and we had the facts in front of us before making the choices . The SFA via referees and the BBC had their plan in place to kill off Goodwins career in Scotland at the turn of the year , we should have taken the very bit hint and not bothered renewing his contract , as for Teale , the clue was in how many games he was able to start last season . We could still have had Craig as the cheap option of manager , appointed Shuggie Murray as a cheap option assistant , and still had the funds to offer two reasonably experienced players ( who would be more likely to feature every week ) decent contracts.
  20. Above is what the board paid for the majority of shares , which is £5 . I think Stuart Gilmour and Brian McAusland invested considerably in the 20,000 shares that were made available to fund the Caledonian Street stand at £20 a share , and it could be argued that the average price they paid for each share was £7.
  21. Remember him scoring a cracking hat trick at Broadwood . Strange how he,s settled down in the west of Scotland , as he always seemed to be wanting a transfer away from Saints. Certainly a player I enjoyed watching play the Saints
  22. I think Billy would do exceptionally well against teams the defences in the current SPL , and would get a decent goals per games return , and would also team up well with the Hawk
