  1. 7 hours and no-one? Aw, f**k it... Pot/kettle? [emoji23][emoji1787][emoji23]
  2. Slightly different take on Sweden. https://amp.usatoday.com/amp/5472100002?__twitter_impression=true
  3. Two things You have no idea whether or not I've ever worked in a shop or in any other customer facing service industry. You seem confused with my post. My post isn't about policing the situation by turning anyone away, it's pointing out what the facts are when asked a question and letting the individual consider that. What happens after that is entirely up to the individual and (imo) in the vast majority of cases they will see sense and either mask up or f**k off. In the event the individual decides to ignore the regulations the shop worker is not under any circumstances responsible for policing those regulations. And I never said that they were anywhere in my post.
  4. They don't, but if someone asks saying "That's the regulations" instead of "It's up to you" wouldn't be hard.
  5. Early days, let's see if anything comes of it. https://www.thelancet.com/lancet/article/s0140-6736(20)31604-4
  6. The story I read - one of the Paisley FB pages? - said they were moving the foodhall there and other staff would be transferred to Braehead. Implication is no job losses so that's good. Other implication is they're up against Lidl and Iceland food-wise so that could be bad. Time will tell. ETA
  7. It only took 2 Peronis for you to come clean? I'd give up drinking if I were you... [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
  8. No you're not, admit it. [emoji846]
  9. I'm loving the fact that Unionists are claiming this strategy is 'cheating' the system. What they actually mean is that they don't like the strategy they employed at the last election - encouraging their members to vote for the party 'best placed' to 'stop the separatists' - being turned around and used against them.
  10. This sums up the hypocrisy involved in that type of thinking
  11. There was someone on Breakfast this morning - can't remember who, a scientist, maybe? - who used the phrase "reasonable worst case". As a layman with a decent understanding of English, could one of the many, many, over-qualified sciencers on here explain that phrase to me, please.
  12. There are a few "Paisley" groups on FB that this kind of question usually gets a good response to, might be worth trying those if this doesn't get you anywhere.
  13. Interesting article https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/07/business/sweden-economy-coronavirus.html?smid=tw-share
  14. We weren't far away from beating both Ireland and England this year, we did beat Italy, we could have been heading to Cardiff aiming for a Grand Slam. I think he might have a point. Having said that, it's Scotland we're talking about, wooden spoons for the next few years... [emoji846]
  15. Went down to Aldi today for shopping - well, wine and beer, that counts no? - and there were around 10 sitting at the car park wall with takeaway pints from The Wallace. Came out and the polis had arrived to move them on. The drinkers couldn't seem to understand that: The car park wasn't a beer garden Beer gardens weren't open yet anyway It's been illegal to drink in public for years in Renfra. I'm not really sure which of these three is the stupidest the polis had to respond to... Also bought three pints and enjoyed them at home, nice to have a draught beer after so long.
  16. Back in January we paid a deposit for a holiday with EasyJet for September in Kos, just paid the balance today. I reckon by September it will be routine for Kos OR it will be cancelled because C-19 is out of control. EasyJet have been good for refunds so either we get some (safe!) r'n'r in the sunshine or we get our money back.
  17. Really? Said no-one, ever. Things are getting back to 'normal'. Next question?
  18. Scotland has less than 10% of England's population, faraway, factor that in and it's less than 40 for Scotland vs 141 for England. And that's the comparator for us in Scotland. Equally, the comparator for the UK is the rest of Europe, not the world, and the UK is failing badly by that measure.
  19. Too slow, Yflab...
  20. I'm not convinced it wasn't deliberate, classic good cop/bad cop maybe? In the unlikely situation that it does turn out to be needed for a year then no-one can say they weren't warned.
  21. Double post.
  22. Getting the blended learning stuff out there now and getting people used to the idea two months before it's due to be implemented is smart work by the SG. If things are back to 'normal', no harm done, if not, everyone's ready for it. WM, on the other hand, has said it will be back to 'normal' when the English schools return. Can you imagine the scenes if they have to roll back on that? Like I said, smart thinking.
  23. I was in an exchange on Twitter the other day with a Spaniard living in Brussels. He wrote his final comment in Spanish so I used Google Translate. I then replied "Noo yer jist bein a tadger" - wonder how Google Translate got on with that... [emoji846]
