I've been working a 4 day week for a good few years now, 0730-1715 M-T. Best thing ever and if I need to work on a F/S/S I get double time.

Working from home was the icing on the cake, saves me a 45 min drive each way.

Next step in the process is getting the total hours worked reduced but since I've got less than 2 years to retirement, I suspect I won't see it happen before I'm done.

As much as I am not a Nicola fan there are big differences here to Boris that the Tory media will try and skip over .

Of the candidates that were mentioned my only choice was Jack Ross he said no I believe my next choice would have been Stephen McGinn with a experienced coach like Danny Lennon to help him out

Working where I do this type of stuff is endemic. A few years back we were buying an off the shelf ultra high pressure washer and spec'd stainless steel nozzles in lieu of standard carbon steel. The QA Engineer decided that this change meant that we would need a full engineering report on the effects of the changesbon the original design of the unit. Until I pointed out that we didn't have anyone qualified to do that and that essentially the change was akin to speccing alloys on a Ford Fiesta instead of standard. In fairness, he backed off at that point...

Guidelines for care staff in homes and centres are different and very clear.

She came in to work.

I was the one duty bound to send her home.

I trust my team. No chancing of the arm here I can assure you.

I'm keeping our daycare centre open on a wing and a prayer.

Despite sticking to reduced numbers and maintaining a social distancing and mask wearing indoors policy, I have 1 of my team off with COVID.
He tested negative and came into work but had to be sent home after a couple of hours.
His eyes were rolling and he simply wasn't fit for work.
His partner is as bad.

Another of my team is off self isolating for 10 days as her partner tested positive and is very unwell.

My volunteer admin worker is off as a close contact.

Someone who attends our centre is unwell with COVID. His wife is in hospital with it.

What I am seeing first hand would strongly suggest this is far from a harmless cold and far from over.
