  1. The lack of genuine opportunities for our academy players is a concern for me.  Yes one or two get a few cameos but precious few see any decent runs in the team.
The model of bringing in “underperforming” players from lower leagues and hoping to turn them round to be sold for a profit seems to be to the detriment of our own youngsters.

I assume it was to use his pace to run at a very newish centre half pairing, not that bad an idea but unfortunately the 2 early goals completely killed this game plan.

I am sure that the manager will be looking to move on at least 2 of our tombolo strikers over this transfer window.

Pace is only effective if you remember to take the f**k8ng ball with you !!

Olusanya is a national league south player at best !

So much for the pratts on here giving OHara are hard time.... we have no midfield and Baccus huge miss....

So is it people giving Ohara a hard time that has upset you or is it Baccus being a huge miss ? 🤷‍♂️

Watching Agatha Christie’s two-parter (Murder is Easy) last night, I kept commenting on how many fine Scots actors were in this very Midsomer-murdery entertainment.

Also, I couldnae fathom where (in the south, on a rural rail route via Epsom allegedly into London) it was filmed.  🧩 🤔

It was filmed in…. East Lothian, Stirling and… Paisley!

(I think I recall Forbes Place looking toward Causeyside, for a start.  Almost tempted to skim through again. Almost.)

    It was ok.  Entertaining.
LOTS of murders, lots of potential murderers, sunny, great costumes and an eventually complicated denouement.

eta: it was 2 one hour episodes.

For me, the Ayunga & Nachmani partnership against County looked the most promising.

didn’t score against Motherwell & he brings in Grieve & Olusanya who have done nothing to suggest they deserve to start.

give Ayunga & Nachmani 4-5 games to form a partnership. Move some of the other deadwood on in January.

Can’t believe I’ve just liked 3 of Baz posts & I agree 100% with this one ( although Ayunga was mince tonight !,)

If we’re going to play 2 up front we need to persevere, no point in giving the likes of Nahmani 20 mins to try and salvage a point .

As for stats, yes, we had more shots on target but really , how many looked like scoring ?  Powder puff hits, sclaffed shots and one thunderbolt from Taylor which went straight at their keeper. And the last time I checked, you don’t get a bonus point for having most possession.

need to ship a few out , Olusanya has reverted to the player who couldn’t get a start for Arbroath , Grieve seems like a decent wee fella but sorry, he’s not got it at this level.  Taylor seems to have been taking the Charles Dunne defending courses ……you’re NOT Beckenbaur son !!   We’ve got Mandron for another year so little chance he’ll be going anywhere .
McMenamin needs to start showing why we paid so much for him, he did manage to get a couple of crosses in tonight but we need to see his early season performances more often.

I sincerely hope we can turn this round but with Sevco, septic, Dons & Hibs as our next four games it’s a big ask at this stage.

Comparing apples and pears (no pun intended with Michelle) Mrs Mone case was not a criminal case, still don’t think it is? Morally very dodgy but not criminal. The £600k that went missing involved the highest public servant in the land and her husband and was a criminal case from the start. Do I think the beeb is biased, absolutely, but not with the example you provided PS.

    Richtea Bawbag said this today

"But it is also subject to an ongoing criminal investigation. And because of that, there's not much further that I can add."

And no one could fail to notice the atrocious weather we now get in Scotland their mismanagement has caused, can't recall ever getting weather like this under a unionist government,

And for the benefit of our younger posters, back in the day we'd spend all our summers holidays soaking up the sun for weeks on end in Saltcoats Stevenson with all the amenities these resorts had to offer, A cooling breeze, sand and eh big sandy hill things, we were spoiled rotten back in those days

All a distant memory under this SNP government

    & Don’t forget the price & size of a Freddo . 😎

It’s just a piece in the jigsaw that is the project to get cars off the roads. Why do you think they are spending millions on bike lanes throughout  Renfrewshire.

Like the cycle lane which runs from Bascule bridge at Inchinnan all the way to Bishopton which is not surprisingly largely free of Cycles & Cyclists.

Yet on a daily basis, you still get many of the Lycra clad fanny brigade using the road despite the new bit of tarmac designed specifically for them being as wide as the runway at Glasgow airport 😡

    1. Strain out for three monthspublished at 12:47

St Mirren are set to be without Ryan Strain for three months after a groin injury he suffered on international duty last month for Australia.

The wing-back is due to undergo surgery on Monday in London.

Strain will also miss the Asian Cup for Australia, which is set to take place from mid-January.

"A huge blow for us," Stephen Robinson said.

"But it's up to other people to step into the plate now. We have a small squad which is tested to the limit with injuries, especially long-term ones, but we are no different to anyone else.

"I don't work on the excuse mentality, I try and work on the basis that someone else will get an opportunity to prove they should be in the side and make up for Ryan's loss."

Strain's contract is due to come to an end in the summer, and Robinson says the decision to extend is "in his hands".

"We spoke with Ryan's representatives about a new contract and they weren't interested at that stage in terms of signing.

"Ryan has obviously had a huge blow with his injury and it's a blow to us because Ryan has been a big, integral part of what we have done in our relative success.

"But you can't feel sorry for yourself. Ryan will get the best medical treatment possible and he's got the best physio around that will help him get back.

"He has to buy into that, he has to have the attitude and the work ethic that Jonah Ayunga had with a long-term injury.

"His aim as a young man is to come back stronger and fitter than he was before.

"Then the decision is in his hands in terms of what he does the following season but hopefully he will be back long before then."

Has he been ill ?   He’s looking awfy skinny .

Bit of a free hit against the blue, bigoted tourists on Sunday.

Really need to be getting back on track for this one though. Performance is almost as important as the result here imo.

It’s always a free hit away to either side of the scum.
I agree that we need to be getting our shit together again & pdq.
As you say, the performance is important , to take anything from this game would be nice but we need to see a reaction from the players after a few pretty low performances recently.

  12. Dunno if I’ve  got this wrong.

The bit where it talks about the Lawn st / Gauze st/ Cotton st junction being replaced by a roundabout …… but they’re saying that the Abbey side of Cotton street Is to be closed off  ( Yellow ), so does that mean a mini roundabout at Lawn / Gauze street or some sort of massive construction to include the other side of carriageway in the red circle.

If not, are cars turning left out of lawn street on this new roundabout then having to turn right across traffic into the single carriageway Cotton street just 50-60 yards along Gauze street ?

Much of the current hicccup is associated with the injury/loss of Strain.

Saints miss his dig and foraging runs up front and potential for lumping effective balls in the middle.

On his return, the points’ll pile up.

    Really ?  He’s missed two games, which we’ve won 1 & lost 1 🤷‍♂️

I like Strain but this season he seems to get a nose bleed if he crosses the halfway and spends more time turning the ball back to Fraser than putting crosses in.

The much maligned Tanser ( maligned last season by many including myself)  has been twice the player this season, his runs and crosses have been far more effective .
