  1. Anyone know what's up with McGowan?? Hope it's nothing too serious!
  2. What a great idea- thought it looked fantastic today!
  3. Bought our tickets today and the lady in the office was sitting with an awfully big pile of tickets in front of her! We're going because we support the team and it's as simple as that! Hopefully a couple of new faces on show to welcome to our wonderful club! And hopefully the start of our revival!
  4. Think it'll be a safe bet that Carey will score for them! Hoping we can sneak a win! Open all mics for me today!
  5. So it had nothing to do with the saves Samson made??
  6. Thoroughly enjoyed today's game! Second half in particular! Samson kept them in the game with a few amazing saves (not that we should be surprised)... Teale had a fantastic game, Cornell was good and Thommo looked back to his usual self! We were very unlucky not to win but a points a point!
  7. Completely agree with all these posts- I was hoping to go but the train was £30 return and now with them wanting £24 I think I'll be saving my money for petrol to Dumfries! Thankfully that's the two longest journeys out the way until early December! I was hoping McGregor would provide buses again but guess that's called wishful thinking!
  8. I am one who will back Danny til the cows come home but yes I agree that something is not adding up and we desperately need players. However, I am sick of hearing about how DL has shown a lack of respect to the players who have left - Parkin - okay as a back up but was on too high a wage to just occasionally score a goal. Guy - showed a very poor attitude and no respect - cheerio. Imrie - don't get me started - terrible attitude- no one is bigger than the club and Dougie had a very high opinion of himself. Carey - popped up with the goods occasionally but not enough, rumour had it he also had a very poor attitude similar to Imrie. Samson didn't want to stay and the rest were loan signings who had to return to their parent clubs. Now I know I'm not alone in not wanting players at our club who have a terrible attitude and believe they're better and bigger than the club. Out of all the players who left - how many were the first names on the teamsheet?? Samson, Goncalves, Dummett and Newton - the others would be warming the bench week in week out. Hearing and seeing people say how they would play Imrie every week is the most hypocritical comment I've ever heard. Imrie was slaughtered from the off at our club and anyone who says differently is lying. How people can say DL has shown disrespect to the above players is ridiculous - in any profession, if you show a poor attitude at work and to your manager you will be told to leave. DL is the manager of those players and therefore demands certain standards. Yes, as supporters we too demand certain standards from our players and management team but that's what happens when you support a wonderful team like ours - we pay to go on this rollercoaster with no control over the ride. Lee Mair - something is certainly not adding up with him, as nice a man he is, we have seen time and time again mistakes being made which were avoidable and he was told he would not feature this season. I respect him for making the decision to stay and fight for a place in the team but I would much rather see Cheesy, Jim or McGregor starting ahead of him. I was not at yesterdays game, however was listening to the un-biased commentary on Open All Mics. I don't like to make comments on players and the game when I was not there but listening to the commentators on the radio it was hard to hear them speak so negatively about the team I support through thick and thin. I saw a very interesting tweet from Spencer Downey (the Newcastle agent) which read "all this twitter talk is not making my job any easier, attract don't detract #keepthefaith" - this says it all.
  9. I don't like to pass comments when I'm not at the game to see exactly what's happening but I really really hope someone is working on getting some extra bodies in! Two week break for us after today so plenty of time to bond with their new team-mates! Just seems like their is nothing going on! Was gutted at not making today but now quite glad I've saved myself some monies by not travelling!
  10. Not making today's game! but will be cheering on from home! Hope everyone up in Inverness has a great time! Got a good feeling about today!
  11. Just throwing this in here... McGinn played on the left wing in Stockport and was outstanding!
  12. That was exactly what we were saying during the game! We just felt so proud of them... and equally so watching Dummett knowing our club helped to mould him into the superb talent he is now!
  13. The app doesn't show me all the forums! I do apologise!
  14. Just in the door after a very enjoyable trip! Also think I might have sun stroke as it was bloody roasting sitting in that stand with no roof! Was very pleasant mind you! Game was very slow paced- we had the majority of possession and they rarely attempted to get the ball from us! Defence were pretty solid, a couple of slack passes but they were dealt with! Cornell had very little to do but did it all well! I think the fact that we had so much possession and time with the ball was a downfall- we could easily have won this by 8, 9 maybe more but our finishing was woeful! When Harkins finally put the ball in the net the cheers were of relief more than anything! The trialist looked good, would certainly give him another shot! Harkins ran and ran and ran all game- Gowser was much quieter today! McGinn definitely a stand out- played on the left wing and some of his touches were delightful! Teale and Thommo- I'm hoping they were saving themselves for Tuesday as they have both had better days for sure! Everyone we spoke to today were delightful! Just unfortunate that the biggest bunch of fannies decided to sit beside us thinking they were hilarious making ridiculous remarks constantly looking for reactions whilst pretending they were 'fishing' and making stupid noises! With so many kids sitting around they were also happy to swear loudly too! Absolute idiots! What a joy they were... Also heard a lot of English accents in amongst our support - also only recognised a small handful of regulars who attend away games which was disappointing! We did have a cracking amount of fans tho! Mair and Goodwin were also presented with a stamp I think before the match as they were ex-players! Nice touch and the County fans were very friendly! Best one was when we were walking back to the car and one guy said "excuse my ignorance but where exactly is St Mirrens??" Bless him...
  15. Haha! A cheeky wee trivago bargain! Been on the Old Trafford tour today- obviously not a patch on the mighty St Mirren park- but it was okay! Yeah, tomoro is just a chance to enjoy a different ground and a great day out! With some other positive thinking Buds! Bring it on!
  16. Heads up folks- there's some road works and 50mph average speed cameras on the way down after the Killington Lake services! Wasn't too bad this morn but with the English schools being off it might be busy tomoro! We're already in Manchester and looking forward to tomoro! Last two results mean nothing! Got a good feeling about the game tomoro! Fingers crossed!!
  17. Haha! Bloody autocorrect on the iPhone!! I obviously meant striker!
  18. Last night was hard to watch but just after the break we showed some real promise- we were on top for a bit but the penalty just killed us again!! Grainger looked good but the mixing about of formation didn't really help anyone! I think Danny's comment about the defenders was a bit tongue in cheek - in the 1st half we had 6 defenders in a line at times with Dillon, Harkins, Thommo and Reilly attempting to get the ball! It was terrible to watch! I know it was a friendly and it means nothing but Queens thoroughly deserved to win last night! Their pace and passing was frightening at points! We desperately need a sticker or two, a left winger and if Grainger signs then he could be the answer to our left back problem! We also have to remember that last night we were missing McGowan and McGinn plus McLean and Barron are injured too! I thought Dillo was okay last night- just unfortunate that he was left exposed on so many occasions!
  19. Today wasn't great... But it's a pre-season friendly for goodness sake! I heard fans after the game saying "that's it, we're being relegated this year" "Lennon has to go" blah blah blah.... What a load of crap!! The deluded individuals amongst our support really need to get a grip! Everyone was very rusty today but there was some fantastic moments too... McGowan and Teale took their goals very very well! Kelly's ball for Gowser was sublime! I thought both he and Naismith did well... They both do have lots to learn but they coped well enough! Had Vanzy not been injured it may have been a different story! McGregor didn't look very confident which is understandable but he'll get there! Cheesy played well and put in a good few challenges! Not really sure how they could be at fault for the goals, first was vanzy, second was a bit of a scramble, 3rd was a peach and the 4th - Kelly left Imrie free and he crossed in! Speaking of Imrie- how bloody frustrating! We never once saw him play with that attitude, skill, pace or anything! What an ungracious little twat! Harkins showed some great pieces of skill, just needs to get his fitness up I think and he'll be great! Gowser played very well and Reilly looked good too! I would've liked him to start after his mid week goals but I can see why he wasn't risked! Anyways, onwards and upwards! It's a new season and we all know that there will be more faces appearing in the next week or so! I'm away to watch the cup final DVD again...
  20. Just booked a hotel in Manchester for the Friday night, planning on touring the Etihad on the Friday and then back up the road on Saturday after the match! Looking forward to this!
  21. Exactly... 5 minutes after they'd been protesting about 'no to fan criminalisation'! Ridiculous!!
