Vambo57 reacted to doakie in The AGM via Zoom
Animal's is a pretty accurate summary of proceeding, especially his point about Vice Chairman Gillespie's demeanour. When the chairman's wifi went down it was embarrassing as I, for one, fully expected the vice chairman to do his job and literally chair the meeting however his downright rude, monosyllabic grunt in reply to one question - his one and only contribution to the meeting - gave away his lack of respect for the shareholders and the meeting itself. It was very revealing - as anyone who witnessed his petulance would agree.
The "probing financial questions on the current position" - and there were many of them from the former chairman - were avoided or glossed over until the chairman conceded that, since the period that the financial report covered (May 2021), the club had been making a loss. However, he would not go into detail. Stewart Gilmour pressed the issue and referred to a page on the financial report but the chairman didn't have a copy of the report so couldn't respond.
The reports we've all read about the club losing money at a speedy rate of knots seem valid and are worrying. Of course, in spite of the chairman informing us that the club is losing money, there will be people on this forum who did not actually witness the meeting who will dispute this and offer a different slant but no one who attended and heard what he had to say will be in any doubt.
There were many shareholders upset at the stop/start nature of the Zoom format. Its limitations were exposed as shareholders simply could not type quickly enough to ensure a smooth conversation. In spite of the chairman saying that we would be able to ask questions verbally at the end of the meeting, this did not happen. I can't speak for anyone else, but I tried to flag up that I wanted to actually speak but to no avail. One person called it a farce and others chipped in with their complaints.
I'm told that this was not an AGM in the true legal sense as shareholders were not allowed to ask questions verbally. It should never happen again. I would also question Mr Gillespie's suitability for the role of vice chairman when, on an evening that the chairman was offline for a period, he did not step forward to chair the meeting as you'd expect from a vice chairman. Gordon Scott contributed to the meeting, Alan Wardrope contributed and Mark McMillan contributed but the sullen Mr Gillespie gave absolutely no indication of any respect for the vice chairmanship, for the shareholders for the club or his fellow directors.
To balance that, I will say that Mark McMillan spoke well although, when asked about the number of Kibble employees were working at the club, I felt he was evasive when he answered "one". He is a politician, after all. The questioner was clearly trying to ascertain how many young people from Kibble (employees or young people in care) were working at the club and replacing St.Mirren staff e.g. ticket office, front desk etc. When asked a second time he maintained that "One Kibble employee works on secondment at the club"
When he was asked about what Kibble have done for the club he stated "delivered fan ownership". I disagree that Kibble delivered fan ownership although, again, I'll balance that by saying that he said Kibble are effectively doing some work at the training ground work free of charge and that is why that job didn't go to tender.
The tendering process for other contracts was brought up but was quickly dealt with, albeit in an unsatisfactory manner in my view. The conversation went along the lines of "Was there a tendering process in place"? "Yes". No further detail was offered.
This is about as much as I can remember but the overwhelming feedback from the shareholders about the Zoom format was damning and I would have been much happier if Stewart Gilmour's questions had been handled more efficiently.
Of course, Tony's retirement played a big part in the proceedings but, for me and other attendees, the current financial position was the real issue. I would have preferred a more thorough explanation, particularly as it was admitted that we are making a loss but, I guess the lack of detail was only to be expected.  Was this the reason that there were no auditors present, I wonder?
Let me assure anyone who's reading this that absolutely none of my contacts who were in attendance (there were eight of us) were remotely impressed with the content or the manner of the presentation. There were pre-submitted questions that were simply not asked, mine among them, in spite of Lynsey McLean sending an e-mail asking for these questions. To quote one shareholder "This is no way to hold an AGM" - that comment, and other similar comments, were ignored.
Let's hope for a return to a fit for purpose AGM next year, an AGM where every director and auditor is present as per usual business practice and where everyone involved is available to reply to questions from the floor. This was not an example of how an AGM should occur.

    http://diversitymachtfrei.blogspot.co.uk/2016/12/merkel-we-in-west-must-accept-that.html
    * We in the West must accept that the anger against us is often justified. With our bombs, our often misconceived wars, our vast economic power, which is sometimes misused, and with all of the damage our modern industry has inflicted on the environment and, historically, our imperial exploitation of poorer countries, we are, in many ways the authors of our own misfortunes. By attempting to understand this anger our actions have inspired, we can achieve greater moral maturity as a nation. For the perpetrator of this attack, a refugee who has no doubt been traumatised by the terrible things he has experienced, I feel pity. Pity at a young life thrown so tragically away, pity that his own despair made him vulnerable to those who wish to exploit him and distort the peaceful message of Islam for evil purposes. But as well as pity, I feel gratitude. I want to think this young man for granting us the opportunity to reflect on our own shortcomings and thereby achieve an enhanced affinity to other human beings, living in less fortunate circumstances to ourselves, and, of course, to the environment, the Mother Earth that nurtures us all and which we have so abused with our selfish consumerist lifestyles and with pollution.

We Germans bear a tragic burden of historical guilt which we will never be able to fully expiate. We must never forget how hatred once caused us to inflict such terrible harm on our fellow human beings. For that reason, I ask Germans not to give in to hatred again. We must not think ill of Islam, immigration or refugees as a result of this attack. On the contrary, we choose to embrace the Other even more forcefully than before. Rather than reject Islam, you should find out about it, study it, even adopt it yourself. Rather than keep out refugees or immigrants, we should welcome them even more. We must show the world that the haters will not win; that, in the end, the message of love will prevail. To Muslim Germans who will no doubt be wounded by the Islamophobia this tragic incident will trigger, on behalf of our nation, I wish to apologise to you in advance. You belong to Germany. You are part of who we are. In many ways you are more authentically German than the people of hate who wish to exclude you. I beg you to maintain your love for Germany as we vow to maintain our love for you.

Would totally agree with that. We have 2 ST's  but not bothered at all about being included in the first 200/300 allowed back in. Would rather wait until everyone allowed in.

I'd thought this could be the case and you might be surprised how many feel the same way.
It's very similar reasons to us choosing not to go abroad on holiday, not even close to what I'd call a holiday.

Speaking personally as a household with 2 STs we have absolutely no interest in travelling to attend games where spectating is limited and with restrictions. Happy now to wait for normality which should be next season. I appreciate that's probably a minority view but it really makes very little appeal as a match day experience with no opportunity to meet up pre or post match for a pint and sitting in a sparsely populated stadium in masks with set arrival and departure times etc. Not for us so happy to let whoever most benefits the club go if it comes to that this season (personally I'm doubtful pre split at least)

I'm a bit disappointed in the responses so far folks.  They are way off topic.  No surprise there eh? 😃
The original post was basically asking for your opinion concerning allowing pay-at-the-gate fans back into the ground first - as opposed to ST holders - providing some income to the club.  If it is ST holders only, then this will cause a loss to the club.
Personally, I would be happy to wait and watch the games online until thousands are allowed back in.
    What do you think?

I would assume that the legal advice would include the facts that there is no way of knowing if the rule breaking contributed to the spread, no way of applying a probability to it and therefore no way of knowing whether the postponements were in any way related to the rule breaking. Assumptions are not proof and "likelihoods" need to be demonstrated, not just guessed at.

The fine is justified (for the rule breaking), the forfeits are not.

Also, the 3-0 awards punish other teams that have not been accused of anything.

This legal stuff is piss easy. [emoji38]

Whilst I have accepted that we have been at fault in the way that we handled the protocols that theoretically were set out, I also think that we have been treated exceedingly harshly.
Jack Ross's interview was a fairly good external view of the position and if I was remotely involved with either Killie or Saints on this issue, I would say appeal and make sure you have good legal advice to back up your arguments.
I don't fear additional retribution, that would be vindictive in the extreme, but the SPFL make up their rules as they go along and they wouldn't have done this to the Glasgow twins, Aberdeen or Hibs, so gone on guys, give it your best legal challenge.

It has emerged that only four clubs voted in favour of 3-0 losses to clubs who failed to fulfil their fixture due to failure of Covid protocols.Accordingly the league has no mandate to award those points to Motherwell and Hamilton. This decision now has to be reversed.

I get that we have f#cked up and deserve to be punished for that but punishment doesn’t fit the “crime” for me. The coach travelling puzzles me ....... based on the judgement around social distancing then teams should be using 2 / 3 buses for travel to away games.
I’m assuming all other teams in the SPFL have been complying with this directive ?

I would like to know where the SPFL obtained all the information regarding our alleged mistakes. What right have they in their Report to say we should have had two coaches to Dumfries to avoid social distancing.Who do they expect to cover the cost of that this was a cup tie with no crowd.Usually you would have received half gate receipts after expenses. They introduce all those protocols yet Managers and Coaching Staff hog the touch line with no masks. Moreover it appears ok for players to neglect social distancing when a goal is scored with hugs and cuddling of team mates. No consistency of rules whatsoever.SPFL is not fit for purpose. We have seven days to appeal.Refer this charade to the Law Courts now.Judges will tear all this apart.

Never understood why WaH is relatively poorly regarded
Great cast including Hollywood royalty (Cage, Dern, Ladd & Rossellini) & fine supporting actors like Willem Dafoe, Harry Dean Stanton & my fave Freddie "Eyebrows" Jones - which all add to the, erm, gumbo that is a Lynch movie. Good & varied soundtrack touching all bases from my birthday brother Elvis-P to Nazi Poster Boy Richard Strauss. What can be more cinematographic than a road movie & part of Lynch's attraction is his commitment to the fillum/story. An homage to The Wizard of Oz You're correct BV is better but WaH is no turkey. & who can resist a happy ending? As I say it prob'ly suffers from being the follow up to BV but I likes it
