A little request - can we stop with all the analytical cock-waving of determining who is a 'true' Saints fan please? It doesn't matter when you start, how you start, your past history, your background, your family, your politics, your race, religion, colour or anything else. No Saints fan should ever have to justify their support of the club to another - we have enough problems with that with ill-educated opposition fans & neutrals pigeonholing us to suit their own twisted ideologies and/or ignorance.
With that in mind the last thing we need is to be doing that of our own. End of.

Personally I'm not giving a toss about that. If REA & co had answers to the questions - great, lets hear them. As it was, they had retorts - fine. I simply felt the point re the constitution had to be asked given WB & AC were away on holibags and it may otherwise have gone unasked. If they hadn't been, someone would surely have asked why given the previous statement (and of the ones published, personally I thought that was the most important to raise)...? No hidden agenda - simply want the truth to out.

I think you were there on the night, but I believe the question was asked at the last meeting (the one intended mainly as a sign-up session for new members) by our chairman Alastair Colquhoun and he had said that Chris Stewart replied saying they would 'look into it' as it may be something they need to think about.
For what it's worth, personally speaking I'd think even in the event that the resolutions are passed in full (which I doubt btw) it's extremely unlikely to have an affect but you can never be too careful when talking about the future of the club. It wasn't really a factor in SMiSA stepping back though as this has come about some time after the vote was requested from the members.

Yes that's true David. SMiSA were contacted about running a Saints Aid again this year though and my guess is in ordinary circumstances we would have done so, but unfortunately due to a combination of time constraints and personal circumstances making people unable to commit their time to organising it, we simply weren't in any position to take it on.
What Slash has said about past events is sadly accurate. As someone who has helped out with the auction in past years I was raging about the manager issue that year, and massive thanks have to go to Ricky & Steven for agreeing to step in at little/no notice. Even last year we were presented with a bizarre combination of shirt numbers despite folk bidding on specific ones and for a worrying amount of time, no-one knew where the balls were. This was added to not being able to do the post-match presentations in the hospitality lounge for, if memory serves, no great reason - instead being left with the players lounge (just a small room which about 40 people were trying to cram into).
If there were problems at this year's event then it really wouldn't surprise me given past history but hopefully the club will learn from any such mistakes and look to put them right in future for everyone's benefit. All in a fans game is a great event with everyone winning out of it and the positives far outweigh any negatives there might be.

Just on Saints Aid so that everyone is aware and in no doubt - that was basically agreed by both parties. Unfortunately we weren't able to commit to doing Saints Aid this year so the club decided to run the fans game event in-house instead. At a personal level was glad to see the club do that as it is something of an easy hit to raise money for Youth Development & hope everyone that played in it enjoyed it.

That version is class...I remember U2 were quoted as saying after it "What did we do to deserve this?"
Besides, it's one of two inspirations for me popularising the doo-doo's immediately before "We Love You Kirky...", as well as the early pub scene in the Deer Hunter.

Bought Substance earlier this year, Gweg. Was gonnae get Waiting for the Sirens Call (or whatever that new one of theirs was called) but decided on that instead as it was being sold for a tenner in HMV.
After taking it back twice due to faulty discs I finally got a decent copy...quality stuff.
What others of theirs are worth getting - I'll add them to the list....

Tennant's Lager reacted to St. Sid in Amnesty on Guttersniping
As per a couple of posts it is a real shame that childish guttersniping may be standing in the way of swithering supporters being able to present their concerns and having them discussed openly and fairly. Instead we have a few fannies jumping on every snippet of information and trying to turn it into a scandalous revelation that should bring down the CIC proposals. This in turn generates much mocking from sane people leaving genuinely concerned fans out of the debate or worse tarnished as radical dafties like animal.
We are seeing too much personal attacks on fellow St Mirren supporters and I include REA in this as he is certainly doing his bit for the club at the moment whether you like the idea of the CIC or not.
At a time when we see such positive rhetoric from Steven Thmpson and the positive impact this can have on our St Mirren supporting community dwell for a minute what impact the guttersniping on fellow St Mirren fans is having on the same community.
Is it really in the best interests of the community for a St Mirren daft journalist to be getting attacked online for posting positive articles about St Mirren? Does it make sense for St Mirren fans to be attacking the likes of Stewart Gilmour who has done so much for our club? Is there any sense or point in the railing at Div over one shitey little insignificant post in a forum he has built up over the last few years for us, often at his own expense and mainly because like the rest of us he is a bit unhinged when it comes to supporting St Mirren.
There is a lot to be hopeful and positive about just now. By all means lets have a sensible and reasonable debate outlining genuine concerns about the CIC. The guttersniping and briefing against people involved in or supporting the CIC damages the spirit of our community at a time when we should be trying to sell as many season tickets as possible and encouraging as much support for the club as possible.
I reckon the debate about whether there was enough support for the CIC or not was over a long time ago. I saw the support for the CIC at the SMiSA meeting I attended and then later at the public meetings. It is time to stop the guttersniping. If you are still against the CIC you will surely still continue to be a St Mirren supporter. Guttersniping will have no impact on whether the CIC goes ahead or not. It will have an effect on the spirit of the St Mirren supporting community though.
It is time to have a debate about genuine concerns and allow fellow supporters to fully consider what the CIC means to them, rather than trying to undermine the people involved in it, which offers nothing to the debate and detracts from genuinely concerned supporters getting their concerns across and their points debated in a manner that being fellow St Mirren supporters should facilitate.
Or to paraphrase...stop being a fanny animal.
