We looked solid today, the two centre backs played well and Erahon, JDH and McGrath all had good games. I thought we were really only under pressure when Jake Hastie came on as he did cause us problems down that side. Wrong move for him going to Rangers I reckon.

We looked a decent outfit today and basically passed Aberdeen off the park ......... that’s all very well but you have to put the ball in the net ! The amount of really dangerous balls we had into the box today must have been well into double figures but our old failing of not being able to convert chances continues to haunt us . That one Erwin misses at the end ....... ah mean what the actual f#ck !!!

Think the madness of the past week won’t have helped in the run up to this one - I’d take a draw right now tbh. Hope to see us playing that high pressing game again and getting into their faces.. COYS !

I get that we have f#cked up and deserve to be punished for that but punishment doesn’t fit the “crime” for me. The coach travelling puzzles me ....... based on the judgement around social distancing then teams should be using 2 / 3 buses for travel to away games. I’m assuming all other teams in the SPFL have been complying with this directive ?

Not really confident on this one - when Morton switched to a high press game in the second half we didn't seem to be able to handle it ............ that is exactly what Livi will do from the start against us. For me we just don't seem to have the balance right in the middle of the park and just end up bypassing it and lofting hopeful balls to our front line. Hopefully Foley can rediscover some form and I'd also play Connelly from the start to give us an alternative out ball.

That is the point I was trying to make earlier in this thread - we haven’t got it right up front just now but in terms of quality of performance we matched Aberdeen and were better team against United. Find our shooting boots and we will be fine in this league.

Thought considering we hadn't played for a month it was a really good performance - still just lacking in that final third. Think we should give Dennis a run at it up front to see what he can do and hopefully if Flynn comes back in he can provide that missing link middle to front. Liked the look of Mason at left wing back and Foley looked to be back on form when he came on. Other than the two cheeks there isn't much between all the other teams in this league. Take the point and move on ............. if we can get our shooting boots on we will be fine 🙂

Big game for both clubs - a United win puts them 12 points ahead of us and Hamilton. Their centre back pairing aren't too clever but middle to front they will cause us problems ............ hopefully we are well up for the game and a victory here would be a massive boost for Saints. Be interested to see what team Jim puts out.

Another thing I noticed yesterday was that apart from our final ball into the box being crap the amount of times we basically just gave the ball away was criminal, our midfield being the main culprits - presuming that Foley is carrying some sort of injury as he was miles off the pace.

We’ve got a pretty poor record up there .......... would take a draw. Middle of the park will be key - hopefully McGrath can build on his good performance in midweek. Play like we did in last away game v St Johnstone and we will get pumped

Think the disappointing thing about today’s performance was that we didn’t really compete. Consistently gave the ball away cheaply and stood off Rangers all day. To be honest we got off lightly with a 3-0 as could easily have been 5 or 6. Not looking forward to Wednesday as it will be more of the same no doubt 🥺

Hamilton are at Ibrox and we will know how the Hearts game went as they are playing Tuesday - a win for us and Well beating Ross County can pull us away from the bottom two and just behind Ross County. Hope Jim goes for it as we badly need a win at home to boost confidence. (Edit - saying that as if Hamilton will get beat at Castle Greyskull. Might well be an away win !)

Saturday night kick off won’t suit everyone but let’s get as big as a support in as we can - team deserve our backing and we can be positive on a number of fronts. We have best keeper in the league and the spine of our team is looking good - Two centre half’s are solid, Foley and Cammy are doing a power of work in the middle and Obika finally has a partner up front that is bringing the best out in him. Still think we are a bit dodgy defensively on both flanks but hey ho can’t have everything. Free hit for us as all the pressure is on Aberdeen to progress. Durmus has been a key man for us in recent games and if he plays well I think we can win this. A semi final trip would be magic so let’s do this ...... COYS !!!

Thought our work rate yesterday was a step up on where we have been in previous games. Tackling back and winning 2nd balls was great to see and helped us dominate the game. Also good to see us show a a bit more cynical side as well - Flynn taking the boy out when he was past him and heading towards our box was unusual for us .......... usually too nice so maybe Goody’s influence coming through 😎

We have to realistic - they have better players so we need to be compact and find a shape / formation that will give them problems. Livi have shown what can be done with an organised unit. I hope Lennon sees it as an opportunity to rest a few players - Christie & Edouard being left out would be good ! Hard to see anything other than a Celtic win but it’s the hope that kills you - get yourself down there and shout the team on. COYS !!!

Said before that it is fine margins in this league and the change of Cammy into midfield worked well for us yesterday giving us more energy. Obika and Junior made it difficult for Hamilton backline but shout out for big McLoughlin who was immense. Think Goody is still struggling to find his best eleven - would give Obika & Morais combination another chance and for me either Durmus / McAllister need to be in our starting 11 to give us width.

Teams have bullied us all season and no doubt that Hamilton will be in our faces on Saturday as well. Strange that with Goodwin in charge we are a bit of a soft touch but that’s the reality I’m afraid. If we go with that makeshift defence from last night against Hamilton then we will get pumped imo. Central defence is such a key area - Motherwell’s two CB’s won everything last night and that allowed them to play. We need to address this ASAP even if it means taking a punt on out of contract players to get us through to January window.

Hopefully we can take something from today - think we should go 3-5-2 and give it a go. Fine margins in this league as there isn’t much between the teams out-with the ugly sisters. On another day we could easily have been 2 down after 15 minutes last week but we settled and second half fully deserved our win. Think we need to score first though as Killie are decent at home. Cracking away day and looking forward to it COYS !!!

Think this season the ugly sisters will be miles ahead of the rest. Aberdeen can probably guarantee themselves a third place but points are there for the taking against the remaining teams. Our defence looks pretty solid and we have a cracking keeper so that is a good base - Goodwin has persisted with Tony Andreu playing as a 10 but for me its not working and he needs to change it. I'd maybe try Flynn in that role to see what he can do linking the midfield with attack. A fit Kyle McCallister is a must as well as on his game he is a major player for us. Agree that the front two guys haven't showed much, albeit they haven't had the best service so I'll hold back any judgement on them just now. Fine margins in this league but we do need to start picking up points as there isn't a "Dundee" to save us this time round.

We need to start scoring goals - if Mcginn is fit get him in the starting 11 v Hamilton. Play our two wingers from the start and go for it. Need to start believing in ourselves a bit more. Played decent in a lot of games and have hee-haw to show for it.
