  1. Started off well after missing the first race due to traffic issues had another winner and 2 e/w places before my wife picked up €145 on the last race - roll on tomorrow 😆
  2. No chance ! Got this far in life without risking too much. My biggest ever single bet was £30 years ago when I backed Real Madrid to win at Darkhead only for them to lose to a team that included Alan Sneddon who I think scored that night. That gave me a warning that I have heeded ever since not to get in too deep but just treat it as a wee bit of fun. Anyway about to have breakfast followed by an enjoyable train journey with my family and friends before getting ‘Giddy for Galway’ https://galwayraces.com/
  3. I am in Dublin tonight before heading to the Galway Festival for 3 days of Guinness and gambling and I am going to enjoy it - win or lose. My €20 per race will not make much difference to any bookies profits.
  4. Is that the same mysterious neutral who has a friend that thinks we have more than one game against Airdrie ? Or maybe he means ours and Arbroath’s games involving Airdrie.
  5. Cheers. Only watched the first half and I had just about given up on it when the red card appeared on Flashscore. As they say it’s not over until it’s over. Happy days - let’s hope the Buds don’t spoil the weekend.
  6. I just love women’s fitba 😀🍾🍾🍾
  7. I haven’t lost my concern for those who may have to make a choice about how to pay for their ST. My original point was that the club should be trying to maximise sales through making the payment plan open to all. I only managed to get the money together for mine at the early bird price since I received cash as a birthday present which I immediately spent on my ST. Since you mention it there are a few pissers on this forum but as they say it takes one to know one as evidenced by your claim that your tickets were purchased on June 7th that you have now shown to be untrue. As far as neatly avoiding things is concerned I will certainly do that in future by ignoring any comments from you.
  8. Your purchase was still 16 days after you stated your concerns over the club’s cash flow and incidentally also 14 days after I purchased mine. Good job the club weren’t waiting on your cash to buy a player.
  9. On June 6th you replied to a comment I made about the payment plan not being available on early bird prices and said that the club ‘needed the money in now’. Did that comment only apply to others and not yourself?
  10. At this moment our first fixture on the Spfl website is undefined v undefined - but we are at home!
  11. Bet builder up at last using the odd few quid won on a free bet earlier 🍺😀
  12. Offering a payment plan over 3 months (or 2 if you need to make a payment at the time of applying) should not lead to a cash flow disaster for the club, especially if you know that the vast majority of ST holders will make a purchase year after year.
  13. I am not saying that the discount should apply to all tickets. I am only suggesting that the payment option should be available to anyone regardless of when they buy their ticket. If the club are so hard pressed financially at any time of year then that is a major concern. We don’t know the exact state of the clubs finances or indeed the income received during the close season, e.g. they might already have received part payment from the SPFL based on last season’s league position, sponsors may have paid some of their fees, etc. SMFC are not alone in taking their support for granted but given the current situation they should be taking some steps to ensure continued loyalty.
  14. Exactly. The claim by the club that the 3 payment option is interest free is nonsense due to higher price if you cannot buy before next week.
  15. Loyalty and affordability are two different aspects of this. I attended my first match at the age of 9 in 1962 so my commitment to the club is not in question. My argument is that the option to pay by instalments should be available on all season ticket purchases. Like most others choices need to be made over how money is spent at the moment and faced with an eye watering rise in energy prices that in one month is greater than the cost of a concession season ticket you can understand why I am concerned about finances.
  16. Yes that’s what I meant - if you can offer it for full price why not early bird prices. I did say to the ticket office last week that I wanted to renew my ticket but wanted to use the three payment option but they didn’t tell me that it wouldn’t be available. They also said that I would need to attend in person to sign the form which is also ludicrous since many organisations allow you to use something like Klarna without having to sign a form to pay for items far in excess of the cost of a concession season ticket. After a discussion they did agree to send a form by post although by the looks of it I won’t be able to pay for my ticket in 3 instalments.
  17. Given the current financial climate I find it astonishing that the club are not providing the option to buy an early bird season ticket using the 3 payment option. Has the reason for this ever been adequately explained by the club?
  18. Said it before but this is definitely my last bet builder. Thought the red card was a cert after the early bookings.
  19. Been close a few times this season with these bets - maybe finish off the season with a win tonight.
  20. Hoping for just a wee bit more luck with tonight’s bet builder 🙏
  21. Good luck - bet builder for me too with my freebie from Bet365.
  22. My first involvement with gambling came some time between 1969-71. I didn’t have a bet but a classmate at Renfrew High gave me a couple of quid to bring my transistor into school so that he could listen to a midweek race. He had a big bet on it - I vaguely remember something about £40 which I think would have been what he stood to win. His brother was a bookie so it may have been a £40 bet with some jiggery pokerey going on ,
  23. Bet365 seem to have been quite generous (I know that they can afford to be) with their free bets recently. My weekly bets only total on average £20-£25 per week depending on the amount of Sunday or midweek games but most weeks this is has been supplemented by one or two free £5 bets for the football and another one for the horses which I assume is an attempt to lure me in to betting on the gee-gees.
  24. Unlike the Boomtown Rats I do like Mondays 😀
