  1. Thanks for the reply CG. As a member of SMDSA I and others had the experience of listening too George Adam (Chairman ) on the current proposals of SMISA/GLS with regards to the fan ownership bid. He answered all questions put to him. I would go even further to say he is an asset SMISA should be proud to have as their chairperson. Please sign up to SMISA its the way forward.
  2. It should be me thanking you for being interested on the workings of SMDSA and the possibility of you joining, which I look forward too, I will certainly PM you nearer the time of our next meeting and if required I'll make sure you are driven to that meeting. Thank you once again for your interest.
  3. As far as I am aware the raised platform being built in the main stand during the close season will be for wheelchair users and their carers who have membership of SMDSA, this will provide cover for those in inclement weather. Both Johnny Clark (Chairman) and Iain Laurie (Secretary) have also sought quotations for portable bus shelters as well that are to be placed at 2 of the corners of the ground, but as usual funding is the main problem. It so happens the AGM of SMDSA takes place tonight at 7pm in the boardroom of St.Mirren 20-21 Stadium (George Adam) chairman of SMISA along with his wife both of whom are also members of SMDSA will be in attendance.. Whilst you and your carer are welcome to attend the meeting you would not be entitled to vote. As I have said before in prior posts you and your carer would be welcome to join and you would get more of an insight as to the workings of SMDSA. Of course SMDSA work for all disabled people not just members. I am sure any further questions you have would be taken most seriously and answers given. I would urge you to attend, I can assure you that you will not be the only ambulant disabled person in attendance In furtherance to your question as Johnny Clark and Iain Laurie originally stated In the past year, the SMDSA has gone from strength to strength. Our membership is growing and, together with club, we have considerably improved the experience of home and away fans. Trained stewards are more sensitive to the needs of fans, snacks are delivered to all and there is a much improved ticketing procedure. These are only some of the achievements of the last year and we have ongoing projects targeted at a raised, covered ‘mini-stand’ for wheelchair users and provision for visually impaired supporters. List of the achievements of the SMDSA in the last year namely:- 1. Zero Disabled Parking charge on production of Blue Badge and pass from St.Mirren ticket office (See Iain Laurie) secretary. (Achieved) 2. Arranged for girls from food kiosk to take orders and deliver food and drink to disabled fans and carers during the first half of matches (Achieved). 3. Formed excellent working relationship with Chief Executive Tony Fitzpatrick. (Achieved) 4. Formed successful contact with Fans Council and SMISA ( Achieved) 5. Prepared 'Away Fans Protocol' and had arranged for club's agreement. (Achieved) 6. Established link on club website.(Achieved) 7. Arranged advertising of the SMDSA on the electronic scoreboard.(Achieved) 8 Reports completed for St.Mirren fans on: travel, ticketing, facilities and overall experiences at away grounds (Achieved) 9 Report with pictures for away disabled fans visiting St.Mirren 20/21 Stadium (Achieved). 10 Membership Cards (Achieved) We also have plans to improve more provision for disabled supporters in the near future. Any feedback is welcome and would be used to further enhance procedures, If you would like to raise any issue, or you wish to join the SMDSA, please contact us at [email protected].
  4. I am one of several St.Mirren fans who have not yet signed-up, but I truly hope GLS and SMISA make it. My question is * Is their a consortium or an individual out their that is prepared immediately to purchase the club should SMISA fail to get enough St.Mirren fans to commit? Please no guesswork, and it is not necessary to give the name of the other party/parties that are a cert.
  5. No way would I take either of these 2 back. Lappin has lost any pace he did have and Sutton would not be suitable for us, its grafters we need and players that are going to show some commitment to the club. Sutton is neither.
  6. You are quiet correct on this matter Gary their was nothing the BOD,s could have done. I spoke with Keith Watson and Jim Goodwin prior to our away game at Falkirk, whilst Jim made it clear how much he wanted to stay, he turned to Keith and said "HE DOES NOT WANT TO STAY AND IS GOING" I had previously asked Keith about him going to St.Johnstone, at that time he made it clear he had spoken to them and all that was still to be done was for him to put pen to paper, Jim interjected and said he'll do it after the Rangers game. The lure of playing in the premiership was too much as was the money being offered in basic terms which was not that much different from us, the bonuses being offered by St.Johnstone were vastly different. Its also worth noting St.Johnstone are taking a chance on Keith with the injuries he has had and not just with us. Their is no denying he has been good for us and I wish him all the best. If he is still playing with St.johnstone in a couple of seasons he will be up against us in the Scottish premiership.
  7. It's been evident for a long time now that Jim Goodwin was not in Alex Rae's plans, this has caused much sadness amongst the vast majority of St.Mirren supporters, he,s the type of player that will find another club easily and we can only hope Alex Rae's decision to disperse with Goody's services is the right one. So far so good, it is apparent to many a St.Mirren fan that he and Faz have saved us from relegation again, so far so good and with a full season ahead who knows. So farewell Jim and thanks for everything, you have been a good servant to St.Mirren over the years but the Saints will carry on and hopefully under the management of Alex Rae and David Farrell progress.
  8. It was confirmed by Alex Rae on BT Sport prior to the game against Rangers.
  9. St.Mirren have released 13 players. 10 players staying as they are under contract. Of the 13 who are leaving who are they? for Certain I know only of three for certain. Does anyone else know for certain who are the other 10 departing? Leaving Thompson retiring Goodwin no longer wanted by the management Shankland Going back to Aberdeen
  10. Its good to have a manager that has not only instilled confidence in the players we had and the players brought in, in the January window. For the first time in many a season I also have great confidence in him and faz for the 2016/17 season and although he had an eye on several players he wanted for the 2016/17 season and unfortunately due to the division we were in and could have slipped out of and been relegated again, some of these players are no longer available mainly due to having resigned for the club they are currently with or are no longer available having signed pre-season contracts with other teams. Given all that there are still a few players left that he wanted and may be able to sign, I am also convinced that with all the uncertainty currently underway with regards to will have ownership of the club next season is not helping. Finally and going off what this thread was all about, I feel very sorry we are not going to have Thommo as a player next season. I know he hasn't been at his best, form wise in the last 2 seasons and in my opinion he is doing the correct thing by not continuing to play, perhaps their maybe a coaching role for him, I certainly hope so. He is a legend, a true St.Mirren man and an out and out gentleman, a man that is loved by all St.Mirren supporters, a player and man that will never be forgotten even if he goes into the media. Do we not get a higher amount of money from the SPFL depending on our finishing league position and are we also not seeded higher in the league cup draw. If it is the case then surely you cannot be apathetic about it, anyway its our last away game of the season and good chance to show our continued support for the team, given that the following game many of us St.Mirren supporters will not be in attendance.
  11. On their bums but seriously I ,m sure SMFC will have this in hand. The press will still be seated where they are now, it's purely a matter of them loosing a few of about 12 seats reserved for the press.
  12. You are right shull, everything at SMFC seems to be good or at the very least progressing. This has come about by everyone and group pulling together. The St.Mirren supporters have contributed vastly to our turn around, and I am sure that SMISA will have the support of SMDSA as will the fans council.
  13. Happy birthday shull (Iain) hope you have a guid yin and have many more.
  14. The raised platform has eventually come to fruition through the efforts of Johnny Clark(Chairperson) and Iain Laurie (Secretary) SMISA and the fans council. The platform is to be built at the press seats in the main stand, which will afford wheelchair fans cover from the elements, which for years we have been asking for, but with the perseverance from Johnny Clark and Iain Laurie success is now apparent. The new platform should be in position for next season.
  15. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but for me your opinion is just plain wrong. Who cares what Alex Rae does in his spare time, its not as if we did not know Alex Rae was a Rangers fan, just like former chairperson of St.Mirren John Corson who held a Rangers season ticket, both however did and are doing in Alex Rae's position their upmost for St.Mirren, If things like this carry such importance for you in which you seem to making a big deal about nothing, then perhaps you might wish to attend an other teams games, but you wont because your a St.Mirren supporter through and through. As long as Alex Rae continues to bring us the results he has done to date and given he will have the opportunity of a full close season to improve on our performances, I do not have any problem with this non-issue.
  16. I was at last weeks game, where Goody was brought on for the last10mins, in his very 1st tackle using his shoulder he was undeservedly booked as the Falkirk player rolled about in fake agony clutching his head, yet approximately 1minute later he was fit to carry on. Upon talking to Goody before the match with Keith Watson, it was made very clear that no matter how much Goody wants to stay, it is extremely unlikely he will be with us, he even joked it was funny that he so much wanted to stay, yet He stated that this s--t wants to leave, referring to Keith Watson.
  17. It was good to see Jason Naismith back playing again. He put in a good shift and naturally tired towards. Having said I thought the whole team performed well today. By the way Keith Watson wasn't injured, all he had to do is not play in our remaining fixtures, and put pen to paper for St.Johnstone, all the details of the transfer have been sorted out.
  18. The fans council(as per section 3 of their February minutes, with regards to the raised platform) deserve a big thank you, for their assistance in this matter. I suggest all readers and contributors of www.blackandwhitearmy.com read these minutes.
  19. No doubt it, certainly a pass so far, the mans got to given chance. Provided we are safe from relegation this season, which I am happy to predict we seem to be, albeit mathematically relegation is still a possibility, even although its a small chance. 2016/17 will give us St.Mirren supporters a better idea on how Alex Rae is performing as a manager and St.Mirren FC overall. Many of the current squad will have to go and certainly a few players added, but given budget to do so I am sure Alex Rae will get it right. Shull could not have put it better, the question should be asked in a years time.
  20. Its difficult to comment as the present incumbents are sadly lacking fitness. As to who stays or go's, I'll leave that to Alex Rae.
  21. So tell me jim, was it the fans council members in their entirety or the chairman, secretary and treasure that was consulted about this and they either unanimously or majority wise thought this was a good idea. If that's the case not only should the BOD,s hang their heads in shame, so should the fans council. Furthermore, when was it decided that the fans council spoke for all St.Mirren fans, be they members or not.
  22. Whilst I do not disagree with the idea of gaining extra money for the club would be beneficial, I question the idea of extra money at what cost for St.Mirren fans. I mentioned the disabled parking bays, that is only in money terms of little cost, but important to those of us unfortunately disabled. You've also got to take into consideration the idea in the aims of getting extra money, that St.Mirren fans that purchased season tickets for the family stand are being moved like it or not. It may be an important game for us, in terms of a relegation play off. There are plenty more reasons I could list but I will leave it at that bar one other, were the fans consulted?
  23. Whether the fans council were involved or not is completely irrelevant. It was an idea by Mr S Gilmour and co that came to fruition in an attempt to gain money. No doubt in the short term he and his cohorts will succeed in this, but at what cost? The loss of some present and potential future St.Mirren Fans. The board of St.Mirren have also failed the disabled yet again. There is no mention of what happens to the 8 designated places allocated to St.Mirrens disabled support parking places, that is if they will be needed given this deplorable decision. I ask that Gilmour and co sanction extra stewarding for the pacific purpose of having those stewards shown the ticket that allows these parking places are for St.Mirren Disabled Fans only. Finally I think that Gilmour and the rest of his cohorts on the BOD,s know that they will not be in charge next season, but I must stress this is only my opinion and not fact.
  24. It,s clear he did not have the best of games, however in my opinion Baird is a better prospect than Mallan.
  25. I do not know for certain, but its clear to me that the entire team are not working or playing as a unit, it appears their is complete disharmony among them. Their was a lot of shouting from our players at each other "why did you do that" and "You should have passed it" "That,s down to you trying to pass it" and finally I,ll get the blame for that, when its down to your defending". Young Mallan is undoubtedly a good prospect but yesterday he was poor and that,s me being kind to him. In the little time Gow was on he was good but bringing Steven Thomson on with 7 mins to go was unfair to him given the way we were playing. It was a game we should have won, however given our defensive display it was little wonder that Raith Rovers took all 3 points..
