  1. So,apparently Lee Mair has had two good games for Partick. I remember him having two good games for us.................................
  2. Yes. We spend within our means, unlike some of our competitors. I have no problem with that. We don't have a rich benefactor and we're not rolling in it. We've learned our lessons with regards to building up a debt by buying things that we can't afford. However, I do have a problem with the quality of players that seem to have been taking up a considerable proportion of our budget and the distinct possibility that we're having to pay off overpaid wasters for being f**king shite. The management team and the board need to carry the can for that.
  3. Decent enough player in the past. Not sure how he's fared of late. Still not a centre half though.
  4. I wonder if someone will post a photo of that
  5. As much as signing Stevenson would be a great addition, it isn't going to happen. Time to move on.
  6. I agree. Gary Harkins plays when he can be arsed. It's as simple as that. DL spent most of the early season praising him, but eventually ditched him as he was strolling about the park, achieving the square root of f**k all. He's under no pressure at all at Oldham. He knows that even if he does f**k it up, then he can come back here and pick up another year of his sizeable salary. Worst case scenario, is that we end up paying him off so he can go elsewhere.Although, as someone mentioned, it would be good of Oldham to take him on and give us a few thousand pounds in the process.
  7. In the papers today he says he's feeling fine, despite playing in every game this season.
  8. O.K. Point taken. However, there a significant number of "No" voters, let's call them "loyalist" scots, for the want of a better label, who seem to hate the idea of independence with equal venom. It works both ways.
  9. I don't know any either. Maybe it's because the people I know that are of the "Yes" persuasion are rational and intelligent individuals.
  10. In the manager's video interview on the OS he says that we know who the players are that we want and will try to bring them in next week. He also makes a comment in the PDE about other clubs "putting themselves into debt" in order to sign players.
  11. The ground will be saturated, so the tines of a fork won't make much of a difference in increasing drainage from the pitch.
  12. Ah, right. I read that somewhere too.
  13. The forecast for the rest of the afternoon, with regards to pishing rain, looks pretty dire. Let's hope there are no puddles on the pitch just now.
  14. Which player are you referring to?
  15. To be fair he was an appalling son too. At least he's consistent.
  16. Just watching "Winterwatch" on BBC2. Michaela Strachan and Chris Packham were discussing their observations on male black grouse fighting each other during mating season. Michaela piped up with the phrase, "There's one particular black cock that made me smile." I don't know how Chris Packham kept a straight face.
  17. I did notice that they were as big a shower of moaning bastards as we are on here!
  18. Before we get carried away. http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/rochdale/forum/100436/page:3 There's a great quote in there about Dicker's lack of every quality that we are hoping he will bring to the team. Unfortunately, for several months, the f**king cut and paste option doesn't seem to work on my posts. So you'll need to find it yourselves.
  19. Some people seem to think so.
  20. You mean the bastion of reliability that is the Sunday Mail? I thought you were more intelligent than that Lee. Still, I'll give you your moment as it happens so scarcely.
  21. Correct. However there are different degrees of culpability. If you're standing in splendid isolation whilst the player you're supposed to be marking nods the ball gleefully into the pokey, you could apportion more blame to yourself, compared to a situation where you put in a strong challenge and the striker you're marking has to work hard and produce a moment of genius to score. Sadly, we seem to defend with more of the former rather than the latter and the opposition doesn't have to work that hard to score against us. Of course the end result is the same, but I'd much rather our defenders were at least doing the basics properly i.e. attacking the ball before it bounces or keeping a tight defensive line, to mention a couple of our frailties. One would hope that getting the basics right, might just lead to a better standard of defending..
  22. If I were a St.Mirren forward, I'd be rubbing my hands with glee about facing Mair next week. Gowser and Campbell will know that if you run directly at him he'll back off and back off, allowing space for a shot or a killer pass. Thommo will know that in a physical battle that he should outmuscle him every time and win header after header. Must be nice for our players to get the chance to face one of "our" centre halves in a competitive game. That being said and knowing our luck, he'll probably play a blinder.
  23. Goodwin's booking was a travesty, if it was based solely on that one challenge. All he did was put his body in the way of the other player. Thought all three of our goals were superb moves and finishes. We were just too quick for them. McGinn's contributions for the second and third were sheer class. As already mentioned a CH is a priority. Poor defending for both goals and we could have lost another when two of the diddies left the ball to each other.
