  1. For me it's still Craig Levein. In a nutshell. There's absolutely no denying this mans experience as an SPL manager. Too many people being short sighted and only looking at his time in the Scotland hotseat. Sometimes it just doesnt work out for manager at specific clubs. After guiding Hearts to third he gets a gig at Leicester, it doesn't work out. Comes back up to Scotland gets the Dundee Utd job after Ian McCall and Gordon Chisholm had turned them into an utter shambles and turns them around. Levein comes up trumps in some pretty key areas. He's obviously a very good SPL manager after his stints with Hearts and Utd, can spot a bargain in the lower leagues. Craig Conway, Danny Swanson and Morgaro Gomis come to mind all key players in their run to the Scottish Cup when they won it. Youth players as well bringing through Goodwillie and Johnny Russell. He's absolutely perfect for St. Mirren. Too many people talking about Paul Hartley and Iain Murray. Lennon once came into this category of being a good up and coming manager punching above his weight and it got us nowhere. Levein for me. We need SPl experience and we need it now.
  2. Two things i'm sure of. Danny won't be manager next year and Djemba Djemba ain't going to Brazil.
  3. We could easily have played the second formation today bud. Thomspon needs a runner up front and someone for McGowan to pick out. Would have had Campbell up top with Thommo and dropped Newton bringing him on later when Djemba Djemba tired. Its hard for Gowser to be a playmaker if theres nobody willing to run in behind defences.
  4. Square pegs, round holes. His insistence on playing central midfielders in wider areas is astonishing. I'm not even sure Danny knew what formation he was playing today. The reason why Gowser has been woeful this year is because he has absolutely nobody to aim for when he gets the ball high upfield. Thompson simply doesn't have the movement or pace to play up top himself, he's a target man not a poacher who desperately needs a partner. McGowan isnt the answer. Kello Naismith MacGregor MacCausland Kelly Djemba Djemba/Goodwin McGinn Teale Wylde Campbell/Magennis Thompson Kello Naismith MacGregor Macausland Kelly Djemba Djemba/Goodwin McGinn Mclean Mcgowan Campbell/Magennis Thompson We should really be playing a variation of these two with the players we have at out disposal.
  5. End of an era. Shame. Bought my season ticket before last season had even ended. Was thinking the League Cup was gonna be a watershed moment for Saints and we were gonna kick on. Experienced players dumped and only two experienced players brought in. Never felt more ripped of in my life.
  6. Well outwith our budget but perhaps with him looking to boost his reputation again maybe, just maybe, would love Craig Levein. His record with Dundee Utd is undoubted. Back to basics and experienced. Think hes a perfect match tactically he doesn't play with strikers and we don't have any.
  7. I've given up. The thing that's most depressing about today's game is that Motherwell offered nothing in attack and still beat us. Woeful. If i was even remotely encouraged by the performances i would be happy to go on. I hate changing managers, i hate the uncertainty that comes with changing managers but lets just get it over and done with. We don't even look as if we have a game plan anymore. He's bereft of ideas now. I'm happy for a shot on goal these days. That being said when you get given a penalty then have it taken of you that's when you know luck simply isn't going your way.
  8. For me Macausland has to come out. The defence needs a balance to it that it doesnt have right now. If Goodwin is the composed experienced leader his partner needs to be a solid aggressive athlete. Cheesy simply isn't that. That been said ive been really disappointed with Goodwin lately his positional sense as a centre half is abysmal. Grainger's had to cover for him plenty of times. Another disappointment is the lack of a natural left winger add to that the fact that Higginbotham ran the show for Thistle yesterday and he was available on a free in the summer. Do we have a scouting network or do we just wait for agents to hand us dvds?
  9. Can't believe how bad its gotten. Players out of position, no shape, no hunger. Defenders ball watching. Partick deserved it today, never known a team that capitulates like St. Mirren, only team thats nervous when they're winning. I can't see Lennon coming back from this, players have let him down big time. Four midfielders with the ball comfortable at their feet and we could barely retain the ball. Back to basics.
  10. End of the transfer window at least before you play the wildcard. Waiting for Bale to move is the key. Chelski have halted that though, stealing Willian.
  11. I was two seconds away from picking Benteke as my captain, i instead went for Hazard. Big mistake. Could've been at the top end of the table instead of mid table mediocrity.
  12. Delighted for Welsh wonder. Not much difference between the Etihad and St Mirren Park. Two great footballing arenas.
  13. Got a league running myself if anyone is interested. 468323-117844 http://fantasy.premierleague.com/
  14. Up to 11 now. Keep it coming boys and just for the record my mate Iain Alexander who's in the league is a big dirty blue nose so lets get it round him this year!!
  15. Not when fans are paying hundreds of pounds on a season ticket should we be looking to next season. No wonder the prices were reduced this year.
  16. Unfortunately not. Don't think there would be much demand for it.
  17. I reckon Harkins will play behind Thommo in a free role, not Gowser. Harkins seems the better finisher than McGowan. Gowser i reckon will play a bit like a deep lying playmaker a bit like what Luka Modric does. By the sounds of it McGinn played pretty decent at left wing yesterday. So i would imagine Lennon would be encouraged by that.
  18. you guys are more than welcome to invite any of your mates that play the game as well.
  19. Any guys that play the Premier Leagues Fantasy football game? This is my league. Welcome to join. http://fantasy.premierleague.com/ The code is 468323-117844 Hopefully get a big league this year.
  20. You can have Dave Barron back if you want. Absolute waste of a wage. Constantly injured.
  21. Possibly, but he must be one of the biggest earners considering he's one of the players being offered a pay cut and he certainly doesn't seem to be playing ball. They might be inclined to punt him just to get him of the wage bill.
  22. I'd be stunned if we weren't looking at Sutton, We were interested in him before he was punted to Australia a couple of seasons back and clearly wants out of Hearts. Only club he was linked with has signed a striker and cant see him going back down south. Excellent SPL striker and clearly an improvement on Big Sam.
