  1. Her family were from BOW and made Ice Cream , as I remember , they lived in a big house near the Golf Course and her mother wouldn't leave us alone in the room for five minutes !
  2. It was Bryceland's first game back but he wasn't yet manager. This defeat was in fact Wilson Humphries last game in charge , TB took over shortly after.
  3. Looks like I could have married into money if I hadn't followed up the ABC with a bottle of QC down by the Cart !
  4. Really big victory for us this day in '75 , Fergie's first season. We had to finish no worse than 6th in the league to make sure we qualified for the 1st division after re-construction. We scraped 6th place, mainly thanks to the 2-1 victory at Starks Park , with two goals in the last 5 minutes from Brian Third and Rab Laurie ! ETA. I went to the ABC with Laura Palombo that night to see Slade in Flame !
  5. Really unbelievable we would lose to the 'Shire with the team we had out that day. Simon Donnelly's faither scored the winner for them !
  6. Today - 1983 - 3-0 v the Hibees , Fulton , Somner , Logan !
  7. I'm all for peace and happiness , but f**k Denver Broncos and all who sail in them !
  8. 1973 - Albion R 1 St Mirren 3 , with McKean , A McLeod and G McLeod on the scoresheet. We had a decent team then , but still couldn't get near promotion !
  9. " A plan is being developed to allow cars to return to a pedestrian-only zone in the centre of Paisley. It is hoped the move would help boost the local economy by allowing traffic outside shopping hours. Renfrewshire Council leader Mark Macmillan described the proposal as the best of both worlds. A previous proposal to allow cars back into the town centre was rejected after being put out to public consultation. The new plan is being developed by the Paisley Vision Board, which is made up of the local council, the chamber of commerce, as well as local individuals and retailers. The centre of Paisley was pedestrianised in 1997. According to the The Local Data Company (LDC), which compiles statistics on high street shop vacancy rates, the town has more empty shops than anywhere else in Scotland. Retailers in Paisley have struggled to compete against the draw of Glasgow's retail district as well as out-of-town centres such as nearby Braehead, which opened in 1999. The previously rejected consultation on the town centre was launched in 2009, and offered residents a choice between maintaining the pedestrian-only streets, opening them up to cars again completely, or opening them to cars at various points in evenings and weekends.
  10. on this day 1980 3-0 v the Thistle , Logan , Stark , Somner !!!!

Argyll is opening up again shortly , so they'll be happy that they don't have Hamishes close by.
  17. Richie Brittain was/is not good enough for the buds !
  18. My memory of the 71 semi was that Shug booted wee jinky a couple of times when Celtic were struggling and it remained 0-0 , he was booked for another foul on Johnstone then clugged Bobby Lennox a beauty. He was sent off and we were beaten 3-0 despite "scoring" a perfectly good opening goal through Archie Knox . As usual , he was flagged off and we were cheated !
  19. We could also include big Somner who was a master of the elbow. His wipeout job on Gregor Stevens was masterful with the ball ending up in the net and Stevens in hospital !
  20. Saw the thread title and had exactly the same thought Colin. Only Aber comes remotely close !
