billyg got a reaction from E=Mc2 in The Danny Lennon and Tommy Craig Appreciation Thread
What are you on about ? I think he should go , you think he should stay. Differing opinions , that's all. If he goes , good. If he stays , then we both remain supporters of the club and try and get behind him !

With all due respect , you can say that about every managerial change at every club in history ! Sometimes chances need to be taken in an effort to improve !

billyg reacted to Buddy Marvellous in Murray
He's one of the best young managers in Scotland, who has taken a club with a set up not much better in terms of cash structure and facilities, than a top amateur club further than they had any real right to. There are not many 'proven' managers out there so if our management team is changing I say look no further than Ian Murray Jack Ross and oor Suggie for our next dream team!!

We all know there have been too many absolutely dire performances this season. If it was to
happen again next season then there's no safety net !

Let us pray SG is not swayed by the pathetic individuals who only a few weeks ago were quite rightly calling for Lennons head ,but after a few acceptable results are hailing him as a master tactician .Taxi for Lennon and Craig

billyg reacted to Leicester Saint in St Mirren V Hearts Top League
I f**king hate Hearts. Always have done.Behind what used to be the old firm, Hearts are the next worst team in Scotland.
They've cheated us so often in the past, especially at Tynecastle, and especially in the 80s and 90s. Their fans are wankers on the whole, and they still blame us for THEM f**king up the league in '86.
There's not a team in the league (outside of Sellick) who I'd rather see relegated, and I'll look forward to waving them bye-bye.
Oh, and did I mention, I'm working in Scotland this weekend, so I'll be at the match ;-)
Hope we pump them.

Can't think of one foul he committed yesterday either , it was a pretty faultless performance from him. I just hate the fact that as we approach contract-renewal time , everyone seems to be putting in a shift. Where was the determination to succeed earlier in the season ?

Look, its just my opinion. I have been saying for a couple of years now that Lennon is a very poor manager and I`m not going to change because of a couple of results. Lennon has never either been asked, or managed to explain why his team never challenge for the top six. Instead he parrots the same type of football jargon week after week, giving fans the impression he does not know what he is doing.
I presume you know how much Saints are willing to offer another manager and also how much an unemployed manager will demand from a club ?

The recent form has been great, really great indeed.
But, and it is a but, the form over this season has been woeful. When purchasing my season ticket I was informed via the media that Danny Lennon's target was a top six place. The points difference between our wonderful club and St Johnstone is rather a large gap. If top six was a genuine target (and with the squad we have it should have been both a target and an expectation) then this season's league performance has been an abject failure. The small victory of avoiding relegation may have injected a small piece of the "feel good factor" into us as supporter's but when we look at the season as a whole I am afraid the football has been largely gash.
Again I wish Daniel Lennon every success, I like the man, I really do and I hope he goes on to have a very succesful career in whatever he does. As for my team though, well my team need a change, a new start, another throw of the dice. We will see many, many changes at our club over the summer as a large number of player's contract's are running out. Is this the time for a new broom to sweep clean?

I appreciate people saying that appointing a new manager a risk. However, keeping Danny is a risk too.
Who's to say he won't make a similar mess in the transfer market this summer as he did last summer? If we have no wins in our opening six games and Danny's summer signings are failing by the end of August again, we're going to regret giving him a 2 year deal pretty quickly.
People also say ' we could finish 7th '. Well yeah, but we could finish 10th too.
For me progress this season was either making a concerted challenge for the top 6, which we failed in. Or more cup success, which we failed in. Granted we have survived, but survival alone wasn't enough this year.
Look at St Johnstone, their manager is in his first ever season and they lost key players in the summer. We have a similar budget. They've finished top 6, reached one semi final and one final. There's absolutely no reason why we couldn't have had a similar season, I don't think their squad is any stronger than ours.
