  1. I thought Cowie was going to Aberdeen?
  2. Dons supporting friend of mine reckons he deserves more football at Pittodrie. Also says his best position is up front or as a No. 10. I'd be quite happy to see him come in. He needs game time and we need more creativity and a greater goal threat, could do both parties some good by the sounds of it.
  3. I'd hang on to McMullan, hasn't been in the best of form recently, but I think he has the potential to be a match winner when he plays well. We don't have many players like that at he moment, I'd be reluctant to let one walk away.
  4. As much as he's been a disaster for us until now, if he's nearly now, it would be daft for Rae to move him on without having a proper look at him first. He'll want to asses every player himself and so he should.
  5. Yeah, he'd be a great signing, but I'm sure he'd have options in the Premiership
  6. Thought he had potential, maybe still does. He's still a young guy, maybe going there will give him the chance to be the main man in a team. That's often what a player like him needs to flourish. Still, good luck to him.
  7. Was bound to be a bit unfit being without a club for 6 months, but you'd still expect him to be a stand out in a youth match.
  8. Anyone make it along to the under 20s? How did he look?
  9. A good post, both informative and relevant. Unlike the page and a half of mindless bickering that preceded it. Bravo!
  10. Mine was a 2-1 win at Cappielow in about 94. Stood down the front of the Cowshed, couldn't believe the noise and the atmosphere, don't remember all that much about the game itself. In fact, I would have sworn it was 3-1 but, by chance, I spoke to my uncle about it at the weekend. Hooked after that.
  11. I've said a few times that I haven't understood the criticism he gets from some fans. I'll admit I've missed a few games this season, and they include both Hibs at home and the 2nd home game against Livi. But I can only go on what I've seen personally, and I've always thought he looked like he had a touch of class about him, always used his experience very well. If I didn't already know, and you asked me to pick out the guy with a couple of dozen Scotland caps, I'm pretty sure I'd have picked him without a second thought.
  12. I have to say I rate Baird quite highly, it's easy to forget how young he is and the amount of pressure that's been put on him this season. Our defence has been unquestionably shaky and he has to take his portion of the responsibility for that, but I still think he has all the raw materials to make a great centre half. He's never once ducked a challenge that I've seen, incredibly brave and strong for his age, and seems to have a habit of being in the right place at the right time. He'll be a good one in the future. It's a shame he's had to be relied upon so much at a young age, only because our squad is so thin this season. Ideally he'd be playing once in a while, learning from guys like Webster and Goodwin.
  13. The thing I couldn't believe at the time was, it seemed like a straight choice between Gow and Sadlier and Murray went for Gow! I know Sadlier was a bit of an unknown and, to be fair, he hasn't really set the heather alight for Peterborough (loaned out last I heard) but he was a young, talented guy with something to prove, who actually wanted to play for the club. To go for a gutless, permanently injured wage thief over him is unbelievable...
  14. Any seats spare? Looking for 2, and how much? Thanks
  15. Sorry guys. Have to pull out of tonight, gutted was looking forward to a game. Sorry for the short notice

  17. I have to say, I thought Thompson was immense in the first half for us, totally bullied their defence, won every header, held the ball up well and generally looked much more like his old self, Gallagher and McMullan running off him was causing them all sorts of problems. His performance dropped in the second half but he wasn't alone. If things had gone to plan in the 2nd half and we had the commanding 2 or 3 goal lead we should have had, I'm sure he would have been replaced by Shankland, rather than playing with him. I agree he's unlikely to play 90 minutes very often, but to say he should never start is ridiculous.
  18. On low enough wages he'd certainly be worth a look.
  19. Murray's talked about bringing in experience. So I'd think we're unlikely to be looking at loan deals as they tend to be younger guys, and I don't see us paying any sort of fee for anyone. So we're probably looking mostly at free agents, making the closure of the window bit less important than it would normally be.
  20. he seemed to be carrying quite a bad knock, limping quite severely. It happened not long before Howieson had to come off...
  21. I'd be surprised if he got a team in the Championship, like I said, I wish him well, but I don't see him playing at this level. Maybe eventually, but not yet.
  22. Saw him in the puregym in Paisley the other day, would suggest he's still not even training with a club full time. Hope he gets a club.
