New Signing On Loan - Josh Magennis
LoveStreetLover replied to davidg's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
From an aberdeen forum: re: Josher off? 'monidons' wrote at 12:25 on 29 Jan: Of the 3 of them Josh is the one I would least like our defence to have to play against in the SPL. I would have absolutely no worries however if opposition ever trotted out against us with Vernon/Zola leading their line. Even though I think Josh is technically the worst of all three I actually agree with you on this, he's the one that can cause problems. If we're looking for a late goal who would you rather bring on Vernon, Zola or Josh? I'd have to go for Josh, the other two are not the type I can see coming off the bench and making something happen. I wouldn't be upset if Josh did go as he really isn't the standard we need but I'd have Vernon out the door before him. -

Signed.... Then Released... Why?
LoveStreetLover replied to Lord Pityme's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Players can be good on paper, but then once you get them through the door you seen their work ethic, attitude, and how they fit within the team a lot better. Sometimes it doesnt work out and you move them on. Thats exactly what hes did. Regarding grainger, hes good cover for left back and left mid at a push, can't see him getting released unless we find someone better. -
Anyone able to paste the actual article?

We technically only have 5 midfielders on the books. yes, van zanten and grainger can fill in at midfield - but I'd rather a proven midfielder to come in that can do the job and I think dicker will be that guy. decent signing in my opinion. All we need now is to add a centre half for cover so that we don't rely on goodwin for that and im happy. P.S judging from what aberdeen fans were saying, Greg Wylde was never really good at being a winger, couldnt beat the players when he took them on. He's better playing on the shoulder of a defender as a forward and playing balls through the middle. But who knows where we'll play him, probably centre half.

Took me a while to work it out, but I believe he is referring to this article: http://www.saintmirren.net/pages/?p=29316 where Brian Caldwell is talking about the trust. Then the web admin linked the community website to look for more information on the trust, which isnt there, no about section or whatever concerning a trust - so it appears that the website is for the trust. I believe waldorf is stating that Stmirren in the community and Stmirren Community Trust are two different entities and it doesn't appear this way from the article/website. What is the trust if not the stmirren in the community thing?

It was taken down as a precaution I believe. The winds were extremely high last night, thing was shaking like mad when we were inside it. Enjoyed using it so far though, hopefully this period of high winds will end soon.

I can't remember any severe weather warning being issued until this morning, when it was all too late.

Looking forward to the game tonight, hope its as good as last weeks! P.S I'll only be having a couple of pints after the Inverness game before myself and Dougiy head up to Glasgow for the 12 pubs of Christmas, a pub crawl across Glasgow. If any of you fancy it (or all of you) then im happy for the kitty you lot to come to Glasgow ;) Give me a PM and I'll give you the details of the pub crawl.

Yeah i've got no problems with folk shouting to mark one another. Its the frustration ones where folk don't get the pass they want or someone loses the ball, but those are to be expected in football I guess. It was the 2 comments of shite being said, not aimed at me I may add, that I found quite inappropriate and it bugged me. But yeah in the most part the game was played in good spirits.

I thought we were 1 up (bibs) then they pulled one back at the end to make it evens. *shrugs* was a good game anyway. One thing I will add though, people seem to be taking the game a little too serious nowadays. When I joined up it was for a fun friendly atmosphere with some stmirren fans - moving away from those who like to shout and moan at a game of 5s. Seems like its heading in that direction. A lot of people shouting at one another and others calling people shite under their breath. Was meant to be a bit of fun for people with varied skill levels, would hate to see it move away from that. Also, gutted that the night out is also on the night of our annual pub crawl around Glasgow - The 12 pubs of Christmas. oh well
