I wasn't astounded to learn that was only the referee's second ever game in the Premiership. Has there ever been a ref with that Jimmy Krankie-like physique who could command 22 adults effectively?

Game stopped to let the smoke from banned flares clear.
It was from the Polish fans, but some of the smoke touched the Rangers support, so they are clearly complicit.

Beware of scam parking operators around that town centre, where so called free parking comes with a time limit and lousy signage.

Loch Lomond Shores and Balloch for shortest.
Another decent option to make a day of it is head to Luss and take a return boat trip to Balmaha on the other side of the loch. There's a couple of different boats that run about five times a day each way, and lets you see Balmaha without having to drive around the other side of the loch.

I noticed in a chorus of Follow Follow, the line about the Pope and the Vatican was genuinely quieter than the rest of it.
I couldn't make out if they were singing something different (unlikely), or if some of them had just checked out of singing that bit.

Makes you pine for the days of Willie Waddell, who looks like an actor doing a parody of an intolerant bigot, but was actually a real person.
Here we see him suggesting that Rangers fans go home and beat up their wives after a bad result (08:31), and admire the Zen-like calm he displays when his phone unexpectedly rings during the interview (at 38:00).

Urquhart Castle following a stop in Fort Augustus is a no brainer if on the A82 to Loch Ness. All a bit of a trek from Newton Stewart, though.

It's even got a diagram.It's the ability to navigate around the outside of the circle within the plane that allows it to be identified. It has no angles, and appears the same from wherever it is viewed, unlike any other shape. A sphere moving in and out of the plane would appear as a line of varying length when viewed from one frame of reference. If you then moved around to other locations within the plane and observed the same scene from different viewpoints it would become apparent that you were looking at a circle that was somehow varying its own circumference (as the sphere moves in and out of the plane).

Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions by Edwin Abbott
It's an old and flimsy little book, available for a couple of quid, but does a great job of cleverly explaining the above, against the backdrop of also being a satire on the classes, and gender too.

The history is, of course, that these games used to cost the same as all the other fixtures. That was until the Old Firm put aside their toxic rivalry long enough to get together and gang up on the diddy teams by attempting to force a 5% levy on the money taken for away game ticket sales to their own fans, thinking that we were all helpless and had no choice but to comply.
We and others told them to go and do one, and started selling tickets direct to their supporters clubs, bumping the price up by £5 in the process, and inviting the Old Firm including the astonished brain child of the scheme, Martin Bain, to go back to their fans and explain why the price was going up.
A ticket stub from such a fixture would then earn a Saints fan a £5 discount on the next home game to offset the price increase.
This 'refund' scheme was quietly dropped years ago. I'd like to think we were forced into dropping it, but who knows?

The debate is around whether you count the 5 game season that was abandoned when WW2 broke out. So, it's ether 100 or 101.
