  1. Well I have to say that was hard to watch despite going a goal ahead so early.Quite simply we have players who cannot do the simple things expected of pros like passing controlling the ball etc. I really do fear for us this season only pass marks for me were McGrath and Erwin.
  2. No way will Hibs sign him Paul McGinn is their permanent Right Back
  3. What is going on here if Jack is deemed good enough to be in the squad then for for me he was the obvious replacement for big Joe then when we lose Fraser again he was overlooked both situations resulted in multiple changes of formation not good enough for me I am afraid Jack will always give his all and has now played a fair amount of first matches for quite a young defender.
  4. Billy Stark was a straight forward transfer to Aberdeen the fee was around £80k we certainly lost money on McDougall as he was signed from Clydebank at the time for £175k which was a Scottish transfer record between Scottish Clubs. He of course was sold to Aberdeen for £100k.
  5. Fairly sure it was a match v Hearts when Michael Stewart was sent off following ref's discussion with 4th official

  8. Take on board your comments but we have to he realistic we only had two bounce games against Hibs and Hamilton and have now played just four league matches new players are still gelling and we sit in sixth position with a game in hand all in all we have to be pleased so far.
  9. You have to take into account the approach streets etc I think it will be no more than around 1000 for starters
  10. Yes and Notts County offered him a new contract but of course he turned it down factor in they paid £150k for him just two years ago I think Jim has done well here.
  11. Douglas McNeil just tweeted new striker coming in you could be right
  12. Saw Paul play on what may well have been his first game for us against Hibs at Easter Road and am sure he played in a wide right midfield role we had not long moved to Edinburgh to live and I believe Miller was our manager
  13. Agree with all you say however on the plus side we will have Broadcasting Revenue and the gift from the Hearts Investor also receipts from Shirt Sponsorship and Trackside Adverts etc although I have never quite understood why we have never had the Electronic Trackside Advertising unlike all other top flight clubs.
  14. You know what much as I admire Jim I think the time is ripe for him to go on a Management Motivational Course his comments today in the press absolutely astound me stating that as a player he hated playing the Old Firm at their place.Surely you have to talk up your players giving them belief especially as the players are in a top league pro side for a reason. If you continually make wrong decisions and bad passes you will always suffer.
  15. Have to agree with your appraisal Sonny I would just add that we are a full time top league outfit not a League 2 part time side which is the way JG set us up I truly get all the budget stuff but surely it is the Manager's job to instill confidence and belief in his players then if not what the hell is the point in turning up.
  16. Well I am in that age bracket of having great memories of winning at the likes of Ibrox and Celtic Park now I fully appreciate all the talk of budgets etc but for heaven's sake we are a full time top league side and the performance yesterday was truly awful. It can't be dressed up in any other way when we won possession on many occasions we just made silly errors and gave the ball back to Rangers. We were caught in possession on many occasions and that made it easy for the opposition.I don't buy this thought from Jim that you can just take nothing from the Old Firm games for me then what's the point in turning up moreover you are not instilling any confidence in the players.Big. Issue at present is the squad is way too thin and I want to hear from our Chairman soon as the usual updates appear to have gone missing,.
  17. Jim Goodwin clearly said that he liked to be close to the recruitment side stating that he had good contacts in England and that he had sound knowledge of Ireland hence the signings of McCarthy and McGrath in January. As a club we have to run the operation as prudently as possible.
  18. I really do feel we should be looking at a national Sponsor given our vary close proximity to Glasgow International Airport, I fully realise that Brentford are moving to a new stadium but for years they did airline advertising on their stand roofs as they were on the flight path to Heathrow I believe KLM used to advertise,We should make tentative approaches to the likes of Jet2, I think the Jet2 Stadium has an attraction,
  19. I agree with your comments it would nice however to start the season for once with a good solid recognised left back I reckon Sean Kelly could fill that role I always thought he had good potential indeed I was sorry he was let go at the time.He obviously has now more experience after his spells with Wimbledon and Ross County.
  20. No no no Stubbs had no idea No no no Stubbs either was not aware or just disrespectful of the history of our great club I am 75 and fortunate enough to have watched us lift major trophies and competed in Europe and of course had a great season early eighties finishing third in the top league broke the Scottish transfer record to sign McDougall from the Bankies no-one will ever convince me Well and Killie are bigger clubs than us and then of course you have Livi having a great finish last season on a lesser budget than us a club who barely sell 1000 season tickets quite simply Stubbs made an usher hash of things his signings mostly were awful and of course we paid £75k for Heaton who couldn't even perform well against amateur opposition in the League Cup and I believe is now back working on a building suite notice Stubbs never even mentioned that why the BBC gave him s platform to talk bollocks was out of order.
  21. The squad is now shaping up well my view is we now need a recognised left back I would think Tait will be the regular right back although he did say himself he is comfortable at left back as for central defence we have Baird as cover and of course Foley is comfortable in central defence if required.I think Jim is keen to add another striker. We are certainly well covered in midfield.
  22. Would certainly imagine the fee would at least around the £30m mark
  23. I personally think it is entirely outrageous that Hibs can pay £250k for a player yet asking their staff to take paycuts. Moreover they are surely contravening Furlough rules time for the Govt to act here.As for Saints I definitely want to see more additions to the squad soon in preparation for the new season and not be scurrying around at the last minute.
