  1. Utter nonsense. A whim FFS? You say the virus is over, so I suggest you tell that to the families of the 338 people who have died in the last 24 hours. Do you think the scenes in Spanish and Italian hospitals caused those governments to 'panic'? If you are so convinced the virus is over can I suggest you liaise with the various governments and science teams to advise them and demand a removal of lockdown and a return to normality. Thank you Mr Trump.
  2. You clearly forget the Italian hospitals were overrun at their peak with the virus. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and you can only plan/prepare as best as possible. Do you think the government's across Europe, Asia and America took such drastic lockdown action on a whim? They did so based on best advice. The government has not got everything right and that will come out in any post virus review. Regardless, over 35,000 people (likely more) in the UK have died. Ignoring current advice that may lead to a second wave and more deaths is inexcusable.
  3. Tommy Craig was the most guilty of bring in overweight and useless strikers.
  4. That's an outrageous statement whether in jest or not. Wtf has happened to this forum when so many insults are posted?
  5. Alas some do not practice common sense. Watch this space to see if this latest guidance is adhered to or not.
  6. Trying to differentiate between what our FM said and the ambiguity from the PM. I have no doubt some will use what the PM said to visit beaches and travel across the UK.
  7. Yes, but NS talked about additional walking and not to have picnics and BBQs. I do not recall her mentioning going to public parks but happy to be corrected. Tonight she clearly stated there is a difference in exercising and sitting having a picnic.
  8. BoJo saying people can take as much exercise as they wish and go to parks etc. Now, can you imagine public parks with people unrestrained from having to stay home? I can only foresee many 1,000s all congregating in parks, beaches and other public places. How can this reduce possible infection rates? Social distancing? Forget it and police helpless to enforce.
  9. If the league doesn't restart until Jan 2021, there will be a number of clubs that may have folded unable to sustain the cost of running a club for another 7-8 months with no income. How do you fulfill fixtures if clubs no longer compete in that league? How do clubs put 11 players on the park if many have left due to contracts expiring and clubs unable to afford replacements (again no income for almost 10 months?). Is not as simple as you imply. Only season ticket sales will be incoming and sponsorship has to be affected without any action. As for TV money?
  10. That's your choice and you've gone to great lengths to ouline your extreme dislike for every aspect of our game, our club and football in general. Others feel different which is their want. I don't disagree with some of your points but the club has been part of my life for 52 years and always will be. If you are so pissed off with the club, management and the game up here what values are you hoping to bring with your participation in this forum other than negativity? Genuine question. If I had fallen out of love with the club and the sport I would see little benefit in participating. I know your mantra is "free speech"
  11. I never understand this 'meaningless game' mantra. Every league will have games that don't involve winning the league, gaining a euro slot or bring relegated. All the top leagues with more teams than ours have games with little to play for other than for points. I don't hear many saying the EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga and other top leagues should be reduced because some games have little to play for.
  12. There are and have always been games in every league that have no bearing in championship, Europe and relegation. There will always be points to play for, league positioning which brings greater revenue and a chance to blood players into the top team. Every league will have teams safe. Most supporters will still go along and watch their team.
  13. Add in the 6 weeks of training and it could be late July or early August. Of course, resumption of training through relaxation of the lockdown well before June will move critical.
  14. A taser to their balls would be appropriate. We had 2 young females running riot in East Kilbride town centre cursing at security and threatening to lick windows. Would not listen and clear that we have no deterrents in society that garner any respect. Grinds my gears. I would fine the parents and maybe that would be more effective to those neds.
  15. Wimbledon, Euros, Olympics, major Golf and Baseball plus events like Edinburgh festival all cancelled. Still some actually think the football season can restart at the end of this month or next. There is absolutely zero chance of this or any major sport taking place until the foreseeable future. The most optimistic punters think around late summer or later is likely.
  16. Most clubs will have no money to bring in new players without some sense of future budgets. How can you offer a player a contract when you have no idea if the club can afford it? Players do move in January - pre contract, without a club after release or sell due to needing money. The circumstances at this time are wholly different with many clubs likely to fold with little or no income. There will be little movement on new players at mist clubs until the current crisis is resolved and income streams start again via matches, season ticket sales etc. Even the big 2 in Scotland will be wary if opening transfer talks at this time with no idea when a ball will be kicked in earnest again.

  18. Agree 100%. More right wing nonsense and sad political point scoring.
  19. We have played 15 home and away games. Why would we have 5 away and only 3 home left. After 33 games we will have played 16 home and 17 away. By your calculation we will play 18 home games and 20 away?
  20. It's the same in most European leagues Shull. The big clubs with the fan base and income generally win their leagues (German, Spanish and Dutch giants and of course, the English Premiership with the biggest clubs generally winning titles. Should clubs like Newcastle, Southampton, Everton, Spurs and Crystal Palace just give up and not compete? Only 2 clubs in our country will win the league as they have the resources and crowds and raid competing clubs of their most talented players. That will never change so it's all about qualifying for a UEFA spot or staying in the league.
  21. You clearly have no grasp of economics in the 21st century. You will be asking for concert tickets to be £10 next. Whether football is too expensive or not, clubs in Scotland simply won't take around a 60% cut in income (at least) or they go out of business. Everything is more expensive now - cars, houses, theatre and transport. If you can afford going to football but choose not to over your 'too expensive' claim then that's your view and choice. Football clubs will not reduce tickets to your preferred price any more than any other commercial business.
  22. Agree. The other main issue is that clubs still need to pay wages and other expenses. Cutting the cost to £9 as Shull keeps saying will simply make it unaffordable for clubs to pay current contract salaries and survive. Today's footballers simply won't play for so called professional clubs with reduced/lower wages when they possibly can earn more in the non football environment.
  23. Good point (no pun intended). There are no easy games in our league and Jim needs more than 3 quarters of a season before the usual "sack him" is mooted. A number of managers have taken more than this time to get their squad and playing tactics right. Jim is still learning and will make mistakes. We must give him time otherwise the uncertainty from a revolving door will damage our club's reputation further.
