How can the Government state "if you or any member of your family suspect you have Covid-19 stay at home and self isolate" allow or condone anyone within their own cabal to not follow that advice?    Will be interesting to see what happens when anyone is fined for the same offence as all they have to do is cite Cummings's example. Otherwise, this demonstrates hypocrisy and evidenced the lack of clarity in the alleged mixed messaging.  Let's hope some decent journalist pins those doing the daily briefing and demand an answer to what is clearly double standards.

You say the virus is over, so I suggest you tell that to the families of the 338 people who have died in the last 24 hours.  Do you think the scenes in Spanish and Italian hospitals caused those governments to 'panic'?  If you are so convinced the virus is over can I suggest you liaise with the various governments and science teams to advise them and demand a removal of lockdown and a return to normality. There is no reliable evidence to judge anything yet and until there is we should continue to err on the side of caution - I admire the Cap'n for his chutzpah but that's about all. 

You clearly forget the Italian hospitals were overrun at their peak with the virus.  Hindsight is a wonderful thing and you can only plan/prepare as best as possible.  Do you think the government's across Europe, Asia and America took such drastic lockdown action on a whim?  They did so based on best advice.  The government has not got everything right and that will come out in any post virus review.  Regardless, over 35,000 people (likely more) in the UK have died.  Ignoring current advice that may lead to a second wave and more deaths is inexcusable.

Wimbledon, Euros, Olympics, major Golf and Baseball  plus events like Edinburgh festival all cancelled. Still some actually think the football season can restart at the end of this month or next. There is absolutely zero chance of this or any major sport taking place until the foreseeable future.  The most optimistic punters think around late summer or later is likely.

Most clubs will have no money to bring in new players without some sense of future budgets.  How can you offer a player a contract when you have no idea if the club can afford it? Players do move in January - pre contract, without a club after release or sell due to needing money.  The circumstances at this time are wholly different with many clubs likely to fold with little or no income. There will be little movement on new players at mist clubs until the current crisis is resolved and income streams start again via matches, season ticket sales etc.  Even the big 2 in Scotland will be wary if opening transfer talks at this time with no idea when a ball will be kicked in earnest again.
