And in addition to all that, you can get a vote of whether to let the Rangers Newco back into the SPL........
    What other club offers that??

Sounds he was too busy with the "Muppets" at the weekend.
And I simply assumed he was having a go at the team!..................

Clock is ticking....only a couple of hours until the #Muppets manamanah

Emergency board meeting hastily convened to discuss the feasability of installing a 15 year old massive flat jumbotron screen in the Aaron Mooy bikeshed corner.
Nothing to see here. Move along.

    Question for 10000Hours
When asked at one of the CIC meetings at St Mirren Park if there was a date by which time the deal would be dead in the water, Richard Atkinson replied 'August.' I was wondering if that was still the case?

    Actually. It hasn't.
The questions still remain as far as Div's revelation is concerned.
Was the money he alluded to the £100,000 loan?
If so, did he know it was a loan when making a statement in defence of RA and attempting to cast him in a better light?
Was he just trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the dissenters within the camp?

I don't understand this at all.
Why do you care what this guy's motivation is?
Surely we're supposed to be discussing the CIC not this guy's personal history.
Maybe he had a fight with Atkinson at school and has held a grudge ever since…who cares?
If he doesn't support the CIC then he's entitled to his opinion.
If you don't agree either ignore the post or dispute the facts about the CIC.
There's no need to turn this into some sort of witch hunt.
    That's not reasoned debate…

I'm all for debate but I think it have to be carefully managed.
A debate about the CIC would work much better if the people opposed to the CIC had some alternative plan in mind.
Someone standing up and hurling abuse at Richard Atkinson and asking "What's in it for you?" over and over again does not exactly constitute a debate in my opinion.
(That said if there was someone out there who could voice their opposition in a reasonable and constructive manner, it might be a worthwhile exercise. Although it may be hard to take anybody seriously when they are dressed as a cowboy!)

While I completely agree with your sentiment, there are always going to be people who are harder to convince. I think there are genuinely a lot of people out there who think that someone will come in, buy the shares and invest millions directly into the club budget. To accept the CIC, you first have to accept that's not going to happen which will be an issue for some people.
Because this scheme doesn't involve putting directly into the club (which you can argue is the best thing about it), people are naturally going to wonder exactly where their money will go. After all investing in the CIC is half the price of a season ticket and you don't get the 28 and 1/2 hours of pain and suffering to go with it.
In addition there are a lot people who think that there must be something in it for Richard Atkinson.
These reasons are why I think that there is still plenty of scope for debate.
Also the CIC is not a completely formed idea, it relies on us all getting involved and contributing ideas. I think there is plenty of scope for debate about this too. So for me there is still plenty of reason for debate.
The idea of posing as a cowboy and posting a lot of incomprehensible drivel on here is ludicrous though. It simply serves to parody everyone else on here who is genuinely sceptical about the CIC, which makes it much harder for anyone to get their point across.
As you point out, the alternatives to the CIC are not likely to be better but I think there are always going to be people who will need a lot of convincing.

Maybe the CIC should have bought r*ngers as they would only have cost £1.
(Then they could have sold Ibrox for £2 million to pay for the Saints shares!)

Would also like to have a clear definition of the role of the CIC executive board.
Also we may have to set a limit on the number of times we sack a manager every season! Presumably the elected board will be meeting to discuss that every time we lose!!!

Also as was mentioned at the meeting, I think there should be three representatives of the individual and three from the corporate on the club board.

I would quite like to hear what made you change your mind. Overall I imagine that the scheme is probably a good thing for the club, although I do have some significant reservations.
There are a number of people who appear to have been blinded the romantic notion of the club being run by the fans and the community.
However I think it's in the best interests of everybody including the club for a proper debate to take place, as one way or another this is an extremely important time for the club.
This is something that posters should take into account when aiming personal abuse at others, however naive or disagreeable their posts might be.
Also may be an idea if the mods are particularly careful that a proper debate is allowed to take place and that EVERYBODY is allowed to air there views freely.
After all I'm sure most of us have the clubs best interests at heart and if all the issues can be discussed and resolved the it will be to the club's benefit.

What I can't get get my head around with this whole process is this.
When the current board took over the running of the club, it was about £2 million in debt. After all the extremely hard work to get the club out of debt, the directors then sell their shares for £2 million, which require to be purchased with a loan. Does that not get us back to square one? And negate all those years of hard work?
I do appreciate that it is not strictly speaking the club that is saddled with this debt. However I assume the CIC will be restricted in the amount of money it can invest in the club as it will be repaying this debt.
