A night at the Scottish Traditional Music Awards makes standing in the pishing rain in Greenock on a cold Tuesday sound appealing.

Hibernian head coach Neil Lennon: "St Mirren thoroughly deserved to win - the hungrier team won, so I've no complaints. We've been on a very good run, but we're stepping off the gas a little bit, and you can't do that.

"We give them all the warnings before the game and they still didn't respond. All the 50-50s, second balls went to St Mirren because they wanted it more. It happens, it hasn't happened very often, it's a game gone, and we're giving other teams encouragement. We have to resurrect it very quickly and get back to where we were a week ago.

"That was the poorest we've played this season. We didn't look ready for the fight, and St Mirren were excellent - the best performance any team's played against us this season."

The players were immense tonight  & the tactics were spot on.
However , one thing that won't be mentioned in any match reports is....THE FANS.
The atmosphere tonight was as good as I've ever witnessed at St.Mirren park. Great credit must go to the W5 group who got the place going from the first minute to the last
& Whle were on the subject of fans..... wtf was the score with the Hibbees fans ? Were they holding a sponsored silence ?

That was outstanding tonight, probably the best I've felt leaving a match since we won the league cup, every
single player was superb especially Gary MacKenzie I thought the big man was immense, he gets better with
    every game.....

Also chuffed to bits for JR and JF, things are really starting to click for them....COYS...

Just show what can happen if the boo boys can cheer them instead. Long time since I seen us breaking with real pace. Every player was excellent and it was a joy to watch. Shame our support was poor in numbers but they certainly backed the team. Good away support considering the hassle of trying to get along the M8. Who was it again saying we would be getting close to a sell out tonight [emoji28]

Well, that was very, very good. The first half was a good as I've seen is play since Danny's second season. Pace, power, one touch passing and tackling like tigers.

Last 20 mins we tired but, given the pressing we'd done in the previous 70 then that was to be expected.

Very pleasing but I'd still send the 2nd string to Parkhead on Sunday and give the first team a rest.

HUGE game next Wednesday and if we beat Raith we could potentially pull them, Dunfermline and Dumbarton back into this.

    COYS!

DIV. Is it not about time this thread went in the bin or got amalgamated with the JR and JF appreciation thread or the JR will come good thread.
JR deserves our support now. Let's all get behind him and help the Saints perform the great escape. Fecks seck. Once there was only Ayr. Now we have Ayr. Dunfermilne, dumbarton and Raith in our sights. COYS

Puzzling - another guy whose been ripped to shreds on the forum and presumably told he's free to look for another club taking a step upwards. You have to wonder what our others see that our two management combos this season have been unable to find.

that's my car buddie ,but it lives in saltcoats, just like me ,saltcoats born and bread ,everybody asks me same question ? why st Mirren, simple answer is I think im a glory hunter as in 75,76.77 we were nearer top of league than bottom and as a 7,8,9 yr old I was attracted to the hope we would be great forever, and I remember liking black and white stripes (my favourite English team who I picked about the same time  is west brom ,,yeah I know its navy and white but pretty similar ),anyway I have now passed my love of everything st Mirren on to my daughter who like me goes home and away ,although she now takes in u20 games as well ,am I actually a bad parent or will we maybe come good again in the hopefully near future

Yep. Off the pitch we are in a worse position than we were before the takeover.

For the last twenty years the likes of Campbell and Gilmour were more than willing to put their hands in their pocket for the club when it was needed. And they did on a regular basis.

As I'm sure everyone knows, Campbell remortgaged his house so we could sign Mark Yardley. Those guys had a quite remarkable commitment to the club.

The new board either don't have the means or the desire (or perhaps neither) to match that level of commitment. The football club is suffering as a result.

Can hardly blame the new directors for that incidentally. Just makes you appreciate what we had before all the more though.

Agree with the sentiment but a bit harsh to include Sutton in the list, one of the hardest workers in the team in my opinion.
