  1. Saw him play for Gateshead last season. Not a bad player.
  2. Just deciding who to support in the World Cup. Do we have any tenuous St Mirren links to the tournament?
  3. I hope it goes well, but don't have the enthusiasm myself. I don't see what there is to celebrate. I hope those who go enjoy it.
  4. Ouch. A game planned weeks (months?) away has moved by a day. And still, it's such a dull, meaningless game that will be watched by so few people. Who gives a feck?
  5. The way I understand it, the player is in an offside position, but he doesnt commit an offence until he becomes active. This could be touching the ball or blocking another player's access to the ball. The linesman doesnt flag until this happens.
  6. If he improves the way he relates to fans, he could do well. IMHO came across as dismissive and disrespectful to the average guy in the stands.
  7. Not a great article, but what he said about us was pretty accurate. He was an inspirational player for us and part of a very good team.
  8. I can understand Grainger wanting to get off the pitch as quick as possible. Porbably trying to get as much distance as possible between himself and the Hibs fans.
  9. I don't think clubs can appeal a yellow card, only a straight red?
  10. Just watched it for the first time. Surely he was just trying to take a free kick? If he had been looking at the Hibs player before taking the kick it might have seemed deliberate, but IMO the referee should've booked the Hibs player for preventing the free kick.
  11. I travelled with a colleague who supports Hereford United to watch them play at Gateshead yesterday. It wasn't a bad game of football in a tidy little ground. What impressed me was their attempt to get fans to the game. They were offering a reduced price for any Newcastle United or Sunderland fans who attended the match and that boosted the attendance. Maybe this is something that our local junior sides could try to boost their attendances on days when Saints aren't playing, or are playing further from home?
  12. Was i hearing wrong, or was it too windy and the grass too long for us today?
  13. I kind of agree with Aber. It didn't take a great performance to win against an amateur team, so we shouldn't get carried away. But I thought Port Glasgow worked hard against a professional team. They certainly didn't give up and deserve some credit for their attitude (with the exception of the guy who got himself sent off). At the same time I thought the young Saints players showed them every respect and went about their work very professionally. I really enjoyed the game in a great setting, lovely weather and plenty of goals.
  14. oh yeah, him. He ain't that good. He looks average in Greenock. He aint good enough for us
  15. I think he's done well for himself at Motherwell. I have a vague memory when he signed for us he was interviewed and said that he wanted to perform well to earn a move down South. That may be why some fans didn't like him? I thought his laziness spoiled his potential.
