  1. Richard i can assure you this was not suggested and had it been, it would not have been agreed to
  2. http://www.diaridegirona.cat/girona-fc/2015/01/18/ricardo-pini-ja-girona-ultimar/706260.html Google translate on this says ricardo pini arrived in girona from Buenos Aries at the weekend to look at the club's books with a view to buying them. Says he will be in spain until the 29th. Not sure what that means for us, possible he is planning a trip to paisley while he's in europe. Given their business model appears to be in shifting players around, it is possible they are looking to buy more than one club
  3. http://www.heraldscotland.com/mobile/sport/football/q-a-what-can-st-mirren-fans-expect-from-south-american-owners.116192278 This piece written by Graeme macpherson needs to be read. Interview with fan of chilean rangers, goes into detail about ricardo pini's time in charge and it is isn't comfortable reading How did the consortium reach a point of being so desperate for their money they are willing to even entertain these people?
  4. Are you sure? http://www.paisleydailyexpress.co.uk/renfrewshire-sport/renfrewshire-football/renfrewshire-football-st-mirren/2013/05/01/midfield-trio-could-be-on-lennon-s-wish-list-87085-33262820/ Saints boss Danny Lennon is on the trail of three young starlets as he looks to bolster his squad ahead of next season. Express Sports can reveal that the St Mirren gaffer is tracking Morton’s Michael Tidser, along with Livingston duo Stefan Scougall and Marc McNulty. Lennon admitted that all three midfielders have caught his eye in the Irn Bru First Division this season – and hinted that he would love to give them a crack at the SPL. Tidser, 23, has played more than 100 times for St Mirren’s old rivals and has become a key figure in manager Allan Moore’s squad after scoring 11 times this season alone. And Scougall, 20, also has an eye for goal, scoring six times for Livi, while team-mate McNulty, also 20, has found the net 11 times. Manager Lennon, though, is not expected to look to the transfer market until the future of his existing squad of players is determined. Lennon’s side still aren’t clear of relegation, so it would be folly to bolster his squad until their status in the SPL is absolutely certain. But there is no doubt that the Saints boss does have one eye on players for the 2013/14 campaign. He said: “There are one or two good players out there. Michael Tidser from Morton has always caught my eye. “There’s a few other younger ones at Livingston, Stefan Scougall and Marc McNulty."
  5. Cheers for that Div Appreciate what you're saying, but surely 10000 Hours falling well short of the targets would be a good reason why the deal might not conclude? Either way, I can't help but feel a time of financial turmoil can't be the best point to hand the club over to new owners with an untested way of working. I appreciate it's their decision to make and they would have to go back on previous statements, but I can't help but feel the club would benefit by having the existing board staying in place - at least for the next few months - to keep an experienced set of hands on the wheel while finances are up the air. They could still work with 10000 Hours in the meantime and look to conclude the deal at a later date.
  6. Good idea but nero blanco does sound more like a brand of coffee. So when it says 10,000 Hours still plans to take DD payments on 31 August, does this mean they hope to have the share purchase concluded by then?
  7. A very good post. Seems to me 10,000 Hours are asking the wrong questions. Given the number of clubs who have now said they will - or can be expected to - vote no, the chances of newco Rangers being in the top tier next season seem remote, regardless of how St Mirren vote. It now appears a carve-up with newco invited into the First Division is the likely option and that has to be one of the questions. And - as others have said - question 3 is written in a very leading way and with some emotive language. Impossible to answer unless we are are given a steer as to the amounts involved and the possibility of the different outcomes in that scenario.
  8. Div, I sympathise with your position and don't believe you deserve the stick you've been taking on here in the past 24 hours. But the statement above isn't true.. I count nine players (DVZ, Mair, Barron, McGregor, Goodwin, Imrie, Guy, Robertson and Parkin) who have either been signed or given new contracts in 2012, at a time where it was widely known that Rangers were in serious difficulty and that them going out of business was a possibility. Even last summer, there were online sources such as Rangers Tax Case saying Rangers could go bust, although I will admit I was one of many who didn't think it would actually happen. So I wouldn't criticise them for signing guys on two-year a year ago. But when our board was extending the contracts of players in the past few months I wondered if it was the right thing to do given the Rangers situation. I assumed they either were certain Rangers would still be in the league or knew they could handle the spending if not. Now it looks like they should have held back until they knew what their income for 2012/3 was going to be. If those players had gone elsewhere, so be it.
  9. Massone did bid for the club and was knocked back. But he was quoted in the PDE last week saying he was no longer involved in any bid to buy St Mirren. Can't find the story online to post a link. Anyway, I do not believe the consortium would sell to someone who has already failed at another Scottish club. So whoever the two new bidders are, I think it's safe to say Massone is not among them and we should stop bandying his name around as a bogeyman. However, I agree with Div's point at the start of the thread saying that it is a major problem for St Mirren fans not to know the identity of the other bidders. Regardless of what anybody sees to be good/bad points about the CIC, any fan who hasn't yet committed to 10,000 Hours now has a choice to make in which they don't know what all the the options are. I appreciate that the board cannot breach commercial confidentiality, but if if one of the bidders was to go public and present their plans for the club now, fans will be able to perform due diligence as best they can, and then judge that bid on its own merits. Any bidder which doesn't do so will only fuel the suspicion they have something to hide. Right now, a choice between the CIC or a leap in the dark can only benefit the CIC.
