Rae might end up being hoisted by his own petard here; he has made noises about four teams having bigger budgets than us, the inference I take being "don't blame me if we don't make play offs" but I doubt that all other nine championship clubs have bigger budgets than us - so he's going to have come up with a good story as to why we are rock bottom. This is now his team and he will and should be judged on it. Not sure about the blaming of players in public, especially when there is a reticence to take any of the blame himself.

I was in the main stand and saw Webster "chasing down" the ball from a QoS attack in the second half. It was his all the way but he seemed to ease up and one the QoS boys nipped in and was away with it. I was astounded. I'm pretty sure it was the lead up to the second goal, but I'll be honest - all the mistakes are merging into one big clusterf**k in my memory already. Morgan, unlike most others, looked interested and Walsh was good in patches (the goal and his shot a minute or two later are the obvious examples) the rest were average to v. poor depending on your opinion. Webster's display really turned me against him. I have never seen anyone chuck it in the manner that I mentioned above.

Totally agree. I enjoyed the League Cup and was hopeful of a decent start to the league campaign - obviously, however, things have not went well. A decent win may steady the ship and allow the players to get some confidence back as well as a some sort of rhythm in the team play. Hopefully the strikers can get some goals (have heard that Shankland isn't playing - which is a bit disappointing). A wee visit from one of the visiting NI or Welsh teams in the next round would be an interesting distraction.

No argument with top 3. Marwood's "strike partner" Callum Ball must be in with a shout of top 10. I also remember Paeslack being horrendous although wikipedia tells me he scored twice in 12 appearances. If we have any real and honest ambition of going up this season we must rebuff all approaches unless it is silly money. Selling a top player to a promotion rival would be nothing less than implicit capitulation.

Double win for us. He's been great this season so we'll have that benefit for the immediate future - coupled with a bumper pay day when the inevitable big transfer happens. Hopefully that day is a season or three down the line.

Yep. I think that once we all have a chance to settle down it will be seen as a bit of bad luck. Ayr beating Hamilton upset the apple cart. I'm disappointed of course - but we should remember we won 3 out of 4; lost to a premiership side away (on plastic pitch), missed out by only 1 goal and still had a better record than 4 other 2nd placed teams.
