Given the continuing uncertainty surrounding Rangers' status and the growing possibility that they might not feature in the SPL next season (much as I can't shake off the idea that they will do), perhaps the club are being very wise in not jumping into signing up new players. While I don't buy the notion that the other clubs will be crippled without Rangers in the league, there will be a financial hit of some form, so it might not be a bad idea to be a little circumspect in terms of transfer business this early on.

The only snag with a supporter on the board is, that certain supporters would, in that position , sack the manager , on a very regular basis. .

I wouldn't be at all surprised that if there is another bid for SMFC, then it will have some form of supporter membership & representation on its board.
This whole saga has shown that there is an appetite for Saints fans to get involved in that direction, and that is without properly promoting the concept heavily to the supporters, be they local or FFFs.
If I was involved in a bid, then I would certainly be working out what % of shares could be issued by this route. The supporters membership each year then get to vote on who their representative on the BoD would be. Also, a standard annual template of decisions that need supporter backing (pricing; catering; merchandise; etc.) would be drawn up, along with procedure for the process that would require A.N.Other matter going to the fans for voting.
A lot of good ideas have come up in the last 12-18 months, & these shouldn't go to waste. The general idea of the club involving the local community more & more, making the facilities get used more often, etc. - it is a win/win for all parties.
I think any private bidder who didn't want to involve the supporters like this, in light of everything that has gone on, would be aff his heid. The commercial gains alone would make it a key part of any sensible bid.

Time is running out rapidly now for rongers to get any kind of resolution and after watching the wee programme about them the other night , I think a wee trip to the third division could be the least of their worries. .

Wallinger never really got the success/recognition he deserved. Scotty still denies him the recognition he deserves for TWoTM. .

The following statement from Murrawell would be exactly the kind of thing the Saints BoD and management should have issued to avoid fans thinking (and with DL assuming...) the worst of them.

If anyone is going, ask these questions:
Q1. If there is no pressure on the consortium to sell, and they didn't want to sell to KMG, why not (privately) tell him to go away ?
Q2. Do the BoD think that the public tarring & feathering of KMG, despite his faults, did St.Mirren FC any favours ?
Q3. Was it just an opportunity to settle some old scores ? If so, fair enough, but as Dirty Harry said "do it at home"
All I could see was a misguided SMFC fan/director having the p*ss ripped out of him via the consortium, to no obvious benefit to SMFC. They don't need to sell (as we keep being told), so why not keep it private ? Not as if the KMG massive were on the case.

It has problems in Highbury, too.
We looked at a flat, top floor in the stand to the right of the one in the pic.
Security is tight, pincode entrances to doors and lifts and cameras in the lifts.
In the flat we were inspecting (empty one previous owner), the huge windows giving a view to south and west were cracked across, kinda spoiling the view. Immensely toughened glass to withstand gales force winds had also withstood an attempt with a sledgehammer(?) to gain entrance.
I had to admire the perseverance of a guy who'd attempted the break-in, and be amazed at how he'd managed to reach that point (and get away, it appeared) undetected after having walloped the windae. But it did put us off a wee bit...
If I bought one of the flats in the New Ibrokes development, I'd probably be looking for a sledgehammer to use to escape soon as....
