Tommy got a reaction from hamlet in The Politics Thread
A new built in Renfrew (Deanfield) in 1983 was around 34K for a 3 bed semi with garage that would have been around 4 times my annual wages.
Where i live now, a new build 3 bed semi without garage, is around 285K which would have been 7 times my annual wages if i was still working.
I think a lot of the problem is most people are now paying for things that didn't exist many years ago like mobile phones, internet, sky etc.
Also think there is a lack of patient with young people wanting the big family house right away, instead of working their way up to it.

The OP presumably didn't see the existing thread. No need for sarcasm or ridicule. It would appear that every other B&W Army poster was able to contain themselves. Sadly not you. As usual.

Why the sarcasm ?
Apparently Jimmy H is correct per the BBC Sport website.

It’s the Amazon prime generation, everything on demand right now. When it comes to accumulating debt this can be a terrible trait.

Just hope both players get a decent break before our season starts.

Was one of my first heroes at Love Street along with Ally McLeod. He played with his heart on his sleeve and his "wanders" up the park were eagerly anticipated by the fans of the day. He survived cancer and a stroke before that awful disease got him in the end. So sad.

Aye. Ordinarily I'd have the money to buy it outright, but had a few unexpected bills and so I'll be going the finance route. The silver lining is that more money will be going to the club.

I'm disappointed that we have let Joe go. Even if he wasn't a guaranteed first choice he was still a big asset as a backup starter for defensive injuries, or as a last 25 minutes sub. We cod throw him up front if we needed a late goal, or tactically for his long throw-ins. Let's hope he doesn't come back to haunt us in the Premiership.

Sadly I feel that SR didn't think Joe was quick enough for a back three which was was the preferred option. Joe was a player who gave his all every time he put on the jersey, no matter the formation being played. Dundee are getting a diamond.

I never understood that one. Robinson constantly talked Shaughnessy up, praising his ability & professionalism yet continued to play just about every bugger ahead of him 🤷♂️
Good luck Joe , but not when you play against us 😉

I see Joe's off to Dundee.
Hope SR has an idea of where he can afford a better replacement.
For some mysterious reason, Joe fell behind in the pecking order for a starting place for most of the season.
