St Mirren V Hibernian Spfl Championship
foxbar_bud replied to shull's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Jack Baird having an absolute shocker, petrified on the ball and doesn't know where to be and getting bullied by smaller players. That said he's not the only one, Agnew shouldn't be out for the 2nd half and Thompson looking lost. We are absolutely gutless -
This was the obvious outcome from our current mess. The Board done this successfully with Danny Lennon so hopefully will be the right option again. Jack Ross?

Longwell is a definete no for me. I can't see Goodwin ever getting the job to be honest, I actually think he would be the better option, I just wonder if there's too much previous with the board... As for Thommo, as much as the guy is a legend, I just can't see him as manager. Out of curiosity ( and this may be wrong) but I can't think off top off head many strikers who have went onto have great managerial careers, Mark Hughes springs to mind in the Premiership and McIntyre has done a good job at Ross County.

Read that as well and really enjoyed it, it looks a bit of a daunting start due to the size but I flew through it and recommended to a few others. It can be picked up for about 4quid now His new book comes out about April next year I think

Today was the first time all season we have failed to score at home -
St Mirren V Dunfermline Athletic - Challenge Cup Quarter Final
foxbar_bud replied to TopCat's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Thought Howieson had his best game for us today, was really positive, Gallagher, Mallan and Goodwin all excels t as well. Thought the boy Rooney at RB for them had a howler, Kelly and Howieson won't have an easier game all season. Amazed that some on here were spitting the dummy we didn't offer him a contract The big CH next to McAusland was a complete bombscare, but the fact the trusted him to play out from the back more than McAusland shows what they think of his distribution. Not getting carried away as we will struggle to play against a poorer team all season but Gallagher is improving every game and 4 goals and a clean sheet can only improve confidence -
St Mirren V Alloa Athletic Championship 3/10/15

2-0 my prediction Shankland to get them. A good performance and a few goals would be great, but with our current form, just to get that home win I would take any kind of win -
Steven Thompson Not A Chance
foxbar_bud replied to Dave The Buddie's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Yep, the most vocal poster about Thompson was also the most vocal that we should have told Andy Webster to GTF one minute after 5pm on the Thursday before he signed the next day. I assume he expected us to produce two ex Scotland internationalists out of thin air. -

No Ambition. And A Fool As Manager.
foxbar_bud replied to Kemp's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
But Danny had a year, and 3 transfer windows, to build up to that Dunfermline game where you rightly say we were excellent, but we came no where near that standard in his first season. Ian Murray has had 1transfer window where he has rebuilt the squad.I appreciate the rebuilding has been pretty slow, but for me, he now has a full squad to pick from, options pretty much in every position, We won't be relegated, squad is too strong for that, so I'm willing to give IM a season to see where we are, anything outside top 4 is failure, but I'm willing to support him for more than 4 league games to attempt to get it right -
Think that will be someone creating some mischief, has Alan Archibald not come out and said he needs a full back?

Say Something Positive About The Season So Far
foxbar_bud replied to Doakes's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Jamie Langfield looking, so far, as good a keeper as we have seen and certainly will be one of the best in the league Jack Baird looking like he could develop into a good centre half given time Agnews goals from midfield, his performances have been ok but 3 goals from centre mid so far is somethign we have missed for quite a while Lewis Morgan has impressed in spells and could become a good player at this level Despite a lot of other folks belief i genuinelly think Ian Murray and Mark Spalding will get it right. -
On Twitter, his family are saying it's not as serious as first thought. Hopefully that's true

Burchill should hang his head in shame also, the second after the tackle he turned round to our dugout and blamed the tackle on us not giving the ball back. Odious little rat.

Did John Potter play sweeper? -
Can you do 6 month loans between clubs in Scotland? I always thought it had to be full season.I imagine the hold will be as reported previously, an injury to goodwillie or Rooney and Shankland wouldn't be going anywhere

foxbar_bud replied to shull's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
I wonder if IM would be tempted to go for a diamond midfield 4 Langfield Watson Baird Kelly Stewart Goodwin Carswell Agnew McMullan Thommo Gallagher I guess it depends wether IM thinks Thommo and Jim can play 2 games in a week! Saints 3 Livi 1 -

You honestly need to get a grip, who would we get better than Webster? You have no idea how close we are to a deal. -

Fair few changes, surely Even Gow can impress against Annan? Hopefully Gallagher will fire a few in to get his confidence up -

The Biggest Meltdown And Knickerwetting Thread Ever
foxbar_bud replied to shull's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
I thought Carswell went about his business well until neither him or Agnew closed them down in the middle of the park in the build up to their pen. Morgan was as good in 2nd half as he was bad in first, guess that will always be the case with young players, especially wingers. Enough has been said about Gow, removed his finger from his arse for about 3 mins after he seen Thompson getting called over. I'm not quite sure what he's meant to offer. Agnew great goal aside was poor, constantly pulled out of challenges as well, was suicide playing only 2 in the middle of the park, when Gow was dropping back and the wingers weren't at the races. Conlon looked poor again but improved slightly as game went on. It's clear we are still a bit short, need to start moving onto plan B signings if the likes of Webster and Shankland aren't happening quickly. FWIW, I'm still not convinced that Jim Goodwin is the answer, seems he gets better every game he doesn't play. -
Steven Thompson Legend Simple

Are you being serious? -
They didn't discuss specifics Someone asked direct about Langfield, answer along the lines of he ticks all the boxes but he's not available as it stands, definitely more going on than was let on

Enjoyed that tonight Mark Spalding didn't talk much but was impressive when he did. Seems like a guy who is technically good and well qualified, and just absolutely loves what he is doing, his enthusiasm was contagious. Murray is just a class act, comes across well and seems intent on proving people wrong this season Even Stuart seemed to have a bit more spring in his step from when I last seen him in a similar setting at the agm. Good night, well done to fans council for arranging.

Assume it will just be for a sell on clause, similar to the Graham Carey and Paul McGowan deal
