  1. Because players that will improve our squad all instantly become available and singable the day our season ends? [emoji16]

You do realise our season ended about 50 days ago?

To put into perspective there’s 18 days to go til the season starts and 46 days until the window closes

  2. If i've said it once i'll say it a million times, what is the point in Gus McPherson's role?

I think this is one for the AGM. We were lead to believe he was coming in to prevent what happened when JR left, we appointed Stubbs and he was starting to get players in cold. But here we are at the first time he’s really required to see that through and we look like we are stumbling about.

I genuinely cannot believe how light on the ground we are with 2 and a bit weeks to go til the season starts and about the same since pre season started, is there another team in the league in the same state?

Motherwell, Livingston and Accies have made plenty of signings. St Johnstone, Ross County and Killie haven’t but they didn’t need to arguably due to not losing too many players. All the teams that will be around us and we are miles away from the squad being sorted

Real questions need to be asked of what Gus is doing
  3. I quote, "The McDiarmid Park boss wanted to sign him but was forced to pull the plug at the last minute because of finances."
So the Fakes cannot afford him but we can . . . not sure that this is true... :2cool

St Johnstone have the boy Tanser at left back who is their first choice, maybe they were only willing to pay him as a back up option. Or due to Liam Gordon getting an injury maybe the money they had aside for a left back needs to go on a centre half now.

Loads of ways we could get him in but they couldn’t

I’m sure with all your inside info you would have known that though [emoji90]

This could be a sensational signing or a Stephane Bahoken level one - depending on which Stevie May turns up.

He has been utterly horrendous for Aberdeen and i wouldn't touch him but if Jim could get the St.Johnstone version of him from somewhere then we've got some striker on our hands.

    Think that's  a bit harsh

At Aberdeen he's been papped out on the left side and not played as an out and out striker like he was at St Johnstone

Even though his goal record has been poor at Aberdeen he's still offered plenty of graft

I suspect this is his agent trying to get some interest but I would take him in a flash

  5. Accies fan in work loves him. Said it took him a while to get up to speed last season but once fully fit he was quality, best as the most advanced central midfielder and can pick a pass as well as score some screamers.

    Good addition for me

    We now have

    Magennis

    Mcginn

    Flynn

    Tansey

    MacPherson

    Erahon

    Andreu

That can all play central, that’s plenty Gus!

  6. I have to agree that the club is not handling this well at all. Fully 24 hours after it is reported OK has gone, still no official statement. Friendly on Saturday cancelled, with no consultation with Coleraine, in a move that looks like it's motivated by spite. Players not sure what is happening, Popescu signing in limbo, no word on a search for a new manager and the guy who should be sorting out in America. FFS.

The rumours started on Friday! Should have been dealt with long before now
  7. That's an assumption based on what might have been. Mine is an assumption, and I believe a qualified one, given the increase in attendances and the positivity driven by OKs "crowd management" skills, based on what actually was.
The only way anyone could be sure is to make the offer and see who would return their STs. I know this is pie in the sky as Scott wouldn't take the chance.
    I dare him to try.

    Would you hand yours back?
  8. So the euphoria at the end of last season and the obvious admiration and trust that people had that OK was the solution didn't tempt some to buy into the club?
It wasn't intended to help those guilty of silence while raking in the ST money.

Very little would have renewed based on OK being the manager

I’ve renewed though Tommy Craig, Alex Rae, Iain Murray, never has who has been the manager influenced whether I would buy a season ticket or not.

Had OK left right after the playoff and been replaced by Jim Goodwin I would argue that Seasons Ticket sales would have been exactly the same as they have been to date

Yes but we have to remember that you are pretty f**king gullible.

Despite making a dogs dinner of his point, I think the bit you highlighted is from a twitter post from a guy called Gary Peebles made on the 14th May and not IoBS view, unless of course he is Gary Peebles (whoever that is!)

In all seriousness if OK does go it has to be Goody for me and as I said previously I hope OK stays

If OK does go they need to move for someone quickly, no messing about getting CVs in, go out and get who you want to get. Scott cant let a manager go 2 or 3 days before pre season starts (with no assistant manager in place, or new signings made) and then take 3 or 4 weeks to appoint his replacement

The rumours of him going have been swirling for over a month now

My understanding, from a reliable source, was at the time of his appointment, GLS "wasn't sure" about OK and would "make a change" if it didn't work out. I would have hoped that keeping us up, even by the skin of our teeth, would have made him sure, especially given the improvement in calibre of player he brought to the club. If OK goes, five permanent managers in the three years since GLS became chairman isnt a good look.

I can easily believe this, more so than any fall outs over budgets which you would imagine the discussions would have been held previously.

If this is a case of GLS spitting the dummy and getting rid of a popular manager then he will need to be careful that fans don't start to turn especially if we have a poor start to the season (which looking at the fixtures isn't too hard to believe could happen)

Obviously its all guesswork at this stage but your right, 3 sackings in 3 years (2 very early in a season and one potentially after securing survival in the top league) doesn't look good on GLS

  12. There’s now an online article from the sun but doesn’t add much to that one liner in the gossip.

Either way it needs to be resolved ASAP, if Kearney stays then fantastic if there’s any doubts from either side we need to move on. There’s a fair bit of a squad rebuild to happen and with players back on Monday we can’t be pissing about.

I know the sun is an absolute rag but they aren’t too bad with saints news
