One of my sources tells me that English goalkeeper Brannon Daly is current on trial with St Mirren. Don't know much more about it as yet, but looks like Alex Rae is wanting an experienced keeper as back up to Jamie Langfield.

Just received an interesting phone call from one of my contacts who is a Scottish sports journalist and he informs me that the next St Mirren manager will be Keith Long who is currently manager of Irish club Bohemians FC. Get your bets on him now, he will be appointed on Thursday but Alex Miller will be still in charge of team selection for the match at Alloa on Saturday with Keith taking full control next Monday.

If Stewart Gilmour was as passionate for St Mirren as he is for cricket then St Mirren would be in the Champions League

Mo Johnston would be a good appointment in my book, good experience across the pond and was the man who gave St Mirren the nod about Andy Dorman, a decent bloke too who tried to single handly end bigotry in Glasgow when he signed for the now defunct Rangers FC.

We need experience and Dick Campbell is now available however according to one of my more reliable sources the board want Chris Sutton.

Surprised and disgusted that Murray has not been sacked as yet. Ian Murray knows nothing. He talks all the time, the result is he’s a trenchant buffoon, he has no idea how to manage a football team and he looks ridiculous in that fashion-wear.

If Ian Murray is still in charge for this game we should start at chant of "Murray must go" commencing in the 9th minute lasting until the 13th, as these minutes represent his initials.

According to one of my sources Ian Murray will be sacked this afternoon.

The new assistant will be Mark Fell, formerly director of the youth academy at Preston North End , and recently manager English nonleague outfit Nelson FC. He will be appointed tomorrow.

My sources tell me that a new member of the coaching staff will be appointed on Friday. I am told he is Mark Fell, who was once Preston North End's Centre of Excellence coach, he will be mainly working alongside David Longwell.
