soldiersaint1877 got a reaction from shull in Kilmarnock. 02/01/2023
So excited about this. Haven't managed to get to many games this year since moving to the shire but its just a quick bus journey along the road and to a stadium I've not been to.

Ha bit awkward.
Normally we wait until January before rinsing the part time summer duds.
Can’t say I’m surprised after watching his first half performance against Spartans. He was taken off at half time in that game and rightly so. He did look a bit brighter when he come on against Dumbarton and even scored but yeah... Stubbs clearly doesn’t think he’s up to it and I can see why.
Cody Cook next for the boot?

I haven't felt this optimistic since Friday 13th July 2018 when we were newly promoted and went to Kilmarnock and played them off the park 0-0 with a team including Kirkpatrick and MacPherson in midfield and were waiting with baited breath for our marque signings to be announced and spearhead our bid for a top 6 spot. It's amazing what a couple of Saturdays without a St Mirren game can do for one's mental health.

Hmmm, seemed like a good one to miss today. On the upside, having read through this, pepper in Bovril might be a game changer [emoji3]

Indeed.
Defence has been a bit erratic at times, looked solid, albeit against a poor United side.

O'Brien did a good job, but was also pretty shaky on cross balls. Samson had a mare the other night, but is far better than that, and has young Stewart to compete with.
Davis was commanding when he came in last season, but he only started 6 league games, missing the last 8. I think it's clear that Mackenzie is the backbone of our defence, and I've still got great confidence in him. Buchanan and Baird are his competition at the moment, but I'd be surprised if another top centre half doesn't come in.
In midfield Magennis looks like being Mallan's replacement. A big job for anyone, but I think Kyle has what it takes to do that job, with others chipping in with the goals and assists we've lost.
Up front Reilly has a good record in this league with 25 goals and in 59 starts - Loy has scored 37 in 91 in the championship, so not a lot between them.
In addition to all of this, we have McGinn, Morgan, Smith, Stelios & Eckersley with top quality in this league. Bit extra needed, but we're not that far short.

My missus is trying to buy or at least order me a new home top, first one in years but its not showing in the online store. Anyone know why this might be? I would have at least expected them to be there with a wait list?

Reilly, Loy, Davis and cover in the holding mid position and we're good to go!
