  1. Look on the bright side. We all might have unanswered questions, we all might disagree on whether they should be aired on a forum, but the bright side is that negotiations between Richard Atkinson and St Mirren have been going on for about seven months now, so one thing we can be sure of is that whatever the details prove to be, they will have been carefully considered and thought about. We might not agree with it, but it won't be a half-arsed plan thrown together in 5 minutes. Another bright side is that no-one is mentioning the names Angelo Massoni, Peter Ridsdale, Milan Mandaric, or Sheik Maboaby of the United Desert Kingdom of Arabiasomewhereland. Praise the Lord!
  2. Of course there is something to hide - all of the complicated arrangements pertaining to the transfer of the club. Until the people within our boardroom, 'old guard' and 'new guys' alike are ready to roll out their plans, they're acting perfectly sensibly in keeping everything hidden!
  3. One thing about other clubs who have went down this route is that they were in financial trouble. St Mirren would be doing something genuinely new in Scottish football, in that as a club, the Tesco deal and new stadium has already put us on a stable footing. We wouldn't be going into this as a desperate measure to save the club from disappearing. I actually find the prospect of learning the full details quite exciting, and far from worrying. As I said, I'd be worried if we were hoping for some sort of Brookes Mileson with more money than sense to ride in on a wave of promises and bullshit.
  4. Yup, there's a lot of questions I'd like to hear answers to, but all in the fullness of time. SG came in, and he's been here for the long haul. He's proved he's more than a fly-by-night shyster who saw the club as a vehicle for a profit. He won't sell us up the creek without a paddle. I'm convinced of that. Whatever dealings he has undertaken with Richard Atkinson haven't just been scribbled down on the back of a Woodbine packet in 5 minutes. Until such times as we know the facts I'm concerning myself with more pressing matters, like, - have we signed Robbie Winters yet?
  5. We're all concerned about the future direction of the club. Players, managers, directors, kit suppliers? They all come and go - we stick with it. However, I would be more concerned if we were looking at a situation where a 'sugardaddy' type like Milan Mandaric, Peter Ridsdale, Angelo Massoni, some unknown Arab/Russian/Asian businessman was sniffing around, and SG was faced with a choice he knew deep down to be the wrong one. SG and our BOD are dealing here with a guy who has now been in the club for over 6 months. A lot of talking and negotiating will have gone on, as well as a lot of learning about each other. I've been critical of SG on a few things since he announced the club was up for sale, but let's give him and the rest of the directors the chance to come out and announce their plans for the future when the time is right for them to do so.
  6. Would it be really boring and predictable to say "Great first season" and "Fcuking outstanding at the Falkirk Gazebodome".... Too late.
  7. Since my first ever gig - Slade at the Apollo in 1974, I've been lucky enough to see just about everyone I really wanted to. From 1977 to the mid 1980s I spent half my life at the Apollo, mostly hard rock gigs. Rush, UFO, Lizzy, The Who. the list goes on. Saw Led Zeppelin at Knebworth, and U2 in front of a small crowd at Strathclyde Uni in 1980. From those old days at the Apollo I regret not seeing Deep Purple, but that's the only one.
  8. Nothing beats Rikki Fulton/Francie & Josie in my book.
  9. Got to say that I find the amount of 'pro MacPherson anti Lennon' or 'pro Lennon anti MacPherson' posts to be just about the most pointless and irrelevant bullshit on both of the main St Mirren forums just now. How about just being pro St Mirren and recognising Gus MacPherson's achievements in delivering relative success, while wishing Danny Lennon all the best now that he's got the gig? Feck' me, might as well compare Danny Lennon to Tom Hendrie or Rikki MacFarlane for all the fcuking good it's going to do.

  11. Hmmm.. See if you look at the 'south and main' pic on P1. The 'track' around the pitch used to be red blaes, and has been tidied up with trendy astroturf. Looking at that pic, even though Tommy Docherty still has to line the pitch again, I wonder if we'll see any players take the ball right off the sidelines, thinking there's still a bit of pitch to their left or right? Nah...
  12. Agree on that - there's no denying it. There is however one huge difference. Our's isn't in bloody Airdrie. Thank you Lord.
  13. Purely for research purposes - I'm sad to report that the ladies lavvies in the Main Stand need some work to tidy them up before Saturday. Shocking....I flushed and flushed, but it just wouldn't budge. Sorry 'bout that.
  14. Not a problem....just hope my photography in the book meets with approval. Deep breaths and fingers X.
  15. One that I forgot I took - boardroom carpet with crests and Barcelona poster waiting to be put up...
  16. Apologies for being a useless diddy who doesn't know how to upload multiple pics properly, but if anyone is interested, here's some I took tonight at our new home sweet home..... 01 of 06 from main stand
  17. Absolutely - you'll find them and tons more besides in the official club book that will accompany the DVD. 'Love Street - The Final Chapter' carries on the good work done by the DVD guys in giving us the history of the ground, as we step in and take us right up to and including the last game at Love Street, and the first game at Greenhill Road. Details about the book and when it will be on sale will be coming out over the next month or so. Both the DVD and the book share the same cover design - and both are 'feeshal backed by the club' products. When the auld place is gone forever, we will have provided a fitting visual and printed tribute to it. Like Steve says about the DVD - you can't please all the people all the time, but we're giving it our best shot. Poz. (Ginger diddy in the DVD talking about my mate Michael getting tackled and dumped on his arse by Paisley Panda). Haaaaa.
  18. Don't know about anyone else, but over the years, if Saints have been involved in a game where we rogered the opposition, I've always slapped in a video tape or DVD these days, and kept a nice wee library of our more memorable winning matches. The DVD will come into its own in three, four, five.....years down the line, when Love Street is no more. If you haven't watched it for a while, and there are houses going up on top of Cairter's Corner, when you put this in, you'll be able to have the memories preserved forever. That's the point of it, and I reckon Steve and Allen have (for a tenner too) just produced a very, very good DVD record of our beloved auld' midden.
  19. No make up artist or hair stylist in attendance. Fcuking disgrace. Amateurs. That was a laugh right enough, looking forward to seeing the finished DVD....just not any bits that I might feature in.
