  1. Great to see Jim coming back. Looking forward to a good game. Tie of the round has to be the Ayrshire derby at Beechwood though.
  2. Ian McCaldon and Gordon Marshall as well...............and the Mad Monk when needs arise.
  3. I listened to Gus on Buddievision and despite the press trying to lead him in their questions, he was adamant that he is not there to do anything other than support the manager. He was even asked how we were injury wise and he said he didn’t know as it wasn’t his job. He did go on to provide a generic answer but it is clearly not his focus. Give the guy a break FFS.
  4. Absolutely this! He doesn’t have a lot to work with but he should know his team by now and needs to pick it and stick with it. We need to get a consistent shape and starting lineup as it’s the only way we are going to get any type of cohesion to our play.
  5. The problem with backing players over managers is when they don’t like the next guy what do you do? Stubbs made some god awful signings but his worst by far was Darren Jackson and that alone left him doomed to fail however for the players who sniped behind his back....................what excuse do they have now? Personally I would drop McGinn and make Ferdinand captain as Stephen hasn’t been at it all season, maybe he is trying to do too much, maybe he is in a form dip but whatever the reason he is not cutting it right now.
  6. Can’t argue with his last comment. It is a mans league and the sooner the snowflakes in our team are replaced, the better. They wanted Stubbs sacked and that quite rightly happened but instead of stepping up they have hidden. Let’s be honest, Goodie would have bodied McGinn all day long and that alone is not good enough. We won’t save our season in January but the very least we can do is bring in some physically and mentally strong players who have professional pride and actually give a f**k. Too many of this lot accept defeat and that level of weak minded individual is not good enough.
  7. I though Alfie Jones actually summed up a Premiership Academy player tonight. Clearly has ability but he doesn’t do the basics like clearing your lines because they are taught to try and do something with the ball and play in an environment where mistakes are accepted as it is all about their development. Well at this level it is all about points and winning your battles, it’s not his fault but first team football at the lower end of the league is not a place for lads like him.
  8. From the BBC It's one of the worst tackles you are likely to see this season. Ryan Flynn is beaten by Richard Tait and he dives and kicks the full-back in karate fashion. There is little complaint as he walks off the pitch and down the tunnel. If that is true then fitba has gone
  9. The Huge difference is we had one of the largest budgets in the Championship, here we have one of the lowest. We simply won’t attract or afford the quality required for wholesale changes at this level. 2 fecking nil now
  10. We don’t even look like we have a goal in us. FFS Saints get into them!
  11. My biggest concern is what has happened to Stephen McGinn, he is a shadow of last seasons captain. Maybe a wee spell out of the team would help him.
  12. Is that because Oran needs help? In which case we need a coach to allow the DoF to get back to his day job.
  13. We need to bring in the Chairman of Cardiff to take legal action against Stubbs and Jackson to recover the fee
  14. Not sure their second was over the line and not sure Jackson was offside for our goal. So far a very Willie Gollum type game.
  15. I don’t think he did. He made a great connection and the keeper made a point blank save and the ball rebounded off Jackson for a goal kick. That was good goalkeeping.
  16. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45772261 Wonder when we will see Adam playing again? Lucky White Heather, get your Lucky White Heather here.
  17. Is that the lad that just got named man of the match?
  18. I can only hope you never posted that or this sober
  19. You won't win this week I'm sorry to say you will have to slug it out with Dundee. Our bad patch is over Stubbs terrible signings were dropped on Friday we had a glimpse of last season's St Mirren which will continue on Saturday. https://www.pieandbovril.com/forum/index.php?/topic/258369-accies-st-mirren/&page=2
  20. Thank heavens we don't have fans making bold predictions on P&B in the Accies thread. That would be really daft
