You're right, cheap slurs don't benefit anyone's argument. Here's an example of someone using a cheap slur not benefiting the argument.

I disagree with you. At least the SNP are trying to change things from within.
I understand Sinn Fein’s stance, but I can’t see the point of voting for them when you know they won’t do anything. NI’s corner cannot be fought if the seats are empty.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t for a second think GLS is the fully innocent party & OK the villain. What I do think is there will likely be shades of grey.
My point on LPM is his view is always the one that shows the club he ‘supports’ & its people in the most negative light. Him claiming OK travel cost could be up to £6,000 shows this, it’s the most nonsense comment I think I’ve seen on here (an achievement in itself)
my interpretation of the situation is OK wanted the commute & thought he could still do the job to a suitable level, GLS disagreed & they couldn’t meet in an acceptable middle. To quote some Brexit chat, they both likely had red lines & they didn’t match. I think the most likely outcome (we’ll likely never know though is as below)
    - OK wanted a daily (or close to) commute
    - GLS wanted him to move here.
    - OK willing to compromise slightly down on the commute
    - GLS willing to compromise slightly up on the commute.
Outcome was the up and the down weren’t close enough to compromise. This for me perfectly explains the time taken, GLS interview, OK comments, why the timing wasn’t ideal for him leaving & the Goody contingency planning.
I don’t know if OK wanted to increase the commute on last year or GLS wanted to decrease it, that’s the grey area. As I said we’ll likely never know how it was initiated, what was in the contract & what was proposed to change this year (if anything)

I don’t see the point in most managers moving their families tbh. It’s rare that a manager gets to keep his job long term at most clubs before they have to relocate again in their next job.

If Oran does go then the blame lies with GUS not GLS
My sources tell me that Gus stopped Oran signing a new player last week and this has angered Oran not to mention an out of contract player who was released by another SPFL club who was given permission to train with St Mirren next week by Oran but then the player's agent received a call from Gus telling the player that he was no longer invited tp train with St Mirren

Firstly, there is no EU Superstate.
Secondly, the spivs behind Brexit are indeed driving the country to "closer ties" to the US - i.e removal of consumer protections provided by the EU, and the destruction of the NHS to force the miserable American private health model on us. Going to deliver excellent dividends for Rees Mogg and his chums.
It is a miserable future, but one that can be avoided by Scotland taking independence, protecting our rights, and rejoining the most successful trading bloc in the world.

The Yes campaign published a detailed manifesto here's what they said on the two issues mentioned
currency was an issue where the then Chancellor George Osbourne exceeded his powers - the Bank of England is actually the Bank of England, Scotland, NI & Wales as confirmed by the last Governor but one, Mervyn King, and was made independant from Government interference by the Blair government so @antrin SNP policy on keeping the £ at least on an interim basis was consistent with these decisions. the intent to stay in the EU as Full Members was clearly stated and as far as I can remember the only country to voice any dissent was Spain. Fair enough there was a degree of uncertainty amplified by Project Fear but it's just untrue to suggest the Independence campaign was as "back of a fag-packet" as Brexit. The "we love you Scotland, but if you leave we'll absolutely fuck you up" message should have been reason enough to leave (sic) in itself - it's practically domestic abuse .
In the RealWorldTM everyone knew there would be a transition period where things carried on as before like the Westminster government agreed with the EU till the end of 2020 (41⁄2 years from the date of the Brexit referendum) to work out the details and this would have been with a Scottish government looking to make things work. Honestly, why treat people like idiots?

I have been working in Northern Ireland this week . Today I was working North of Antrim up to Ballymoney ,at lunch time I dropped into a wee place called Bellaghy for a bite to eat . The guy serving me , hearing the accent enquired where I was from , when I said Paisley , next question was which team ... as usual !  When I said Saints, he looked surprised. “pop your head into that office over there and tell them who you support “
Turns out the guy in the office is an organiser for the Belfast youth football group who visited us a couple of weeks back , he was singing the clubs praises , said the youngsters were given the whole package and treated like kings . Particularly singled out TF for praise saying he had the young uns captivated with his stories and enthusiasm. The lads have asked if they can wear .St.Mirren strips next season !!
At times it is  easy to become disillusioned with our club and sometimes things seem bleak  , but it’s good to remind ourselves we can occasionally do things right
    Well done to all involved.

Since ok came those who are off the wages are  :-
    1. BM    2.  Coulson    3.  Willock    4. Samson  5. Kirkpatrick   6.  McShane   7.  Heaton (on loan only for 6 months)  8. Hammill (sadly)   9.   Jones   10.  Edwards (Hallelujah)
    11.  Lyness    12.  King   13.  O'Keefe   14.  Smith    15.  KP      16. Eckersley (on loan till the end of his contract)

I’m sorry but there’s no excuse for not giving 100% out on the pitch and that’s what we’ve been getting.
It doesn’t matter who the manager is, what the tactics are, who’s playing centre half, what one of your team mates have been dropped, who’s face doesn’t fit. No excuse for the level of commitment given so far this season.
Saturday was much better from certain individuals and I suspect some players were already made aware of the intent to sack Stubbs.
Just hope they approve of the replacement or we’re really f**ked. In fact, might be an idea to let them hand pick the new manager.

Agreed. Take out the Top 6 who finish where they should, the only club better than Everton were Burnley who were getting results while Everton were dreadful. They could have gone down without Sam and this is the thanks he gets. I do hope they get the football they want, at the cost of relegation.
Regarding Jack, it'll be interesting to see how this really panned out and if he was tapped up before the board were notified. Whatever the case I wish him all the best, he gave us an incredible 18 months, turned the club around in style, and owes us nothing. I hope he becomes a success in England, he deserves it. The journey we've been on won't be matched by many in our lifetime.

All this chat of this being a distraction, a circus etc doesn’t bother me in the slightest.
I hope this kind of distraction goes on and on and on, the longer the better. We had it last season, we have it this summer and if we have it next season it means we are still performing well and Jack is still doing a great job.
When he leaves, I hope we experience it all over with the next gaffer.

I was on train that Saints fans invaded. I think they seem to forget that normal people, going about their daily business, are on trains. Don't want to see drink getting chucked about, tables getting hammered and constant swearing and singing. I support my team passionately but don't feel the need to intimidate non football fans in the process. The problem with Buckied Up football fans is they think they are not doing anything wrong and are just loveable rogues who follow their team everywhere but to sensible members of the public, and I include myself, they are a menace. Get on the train, drink your drink but don't let grannies, young kids feel threatened by you. I know I am going to get flak here but no-one can tell me I am wrong over this. Saints played well today, front to back. McShane was excellent. Clapped off by McGinn. Buchanan very aggressive. Lost nothing in air. No boozed up neds on 1659hrs back to Stranraer. Total bliss.

I remember when 'Borgia' opened back in 1992 (IIRC), as one of the first tenants of the brand new, and at the time largely unopened Paisley Centre, next door where Caffufals is was a Shoprite supermarket and I'm sure there was a wee florist in that tiny corner unit where Borgia meets the path leading to the entrance to the mall by the side door. It's changed hands the odd time, changed layouts etc, but managed to keep going. I had lot's of good times over the years, but stopped going in around 5 years ago once turned 40 and that certain 'old fart' feeling started to come calling, especially in a 'young un's' bar populated with attractive buxom barmaids ! Good luck to John in his future endeavours, hopefully he'll open a decent wee howff somewhere, with a good jukebox, and a spot on the corner of the bar for an auld fart...????
